Hello Long Lost Friends…

This year was one of the nuttiest in a long time. I moved across country, had several major physical problems to deal with – which are still being resolved. And the list goes on. Most importantly I really couldn’t focus on anything but the pile of crap that was dumped on me and my families lap.

Now that things are settling a bit I would like to share what has become my current (or more accurately reoccurring) obsession. I’ll let the information come out as it feels comfortable. The people that know me well, know that I’m not really just psychic, paranormal events and strange things revolve around me. This being said. Right before my going off line I saw the (ghost) of my father crying on my sofa. He wouldn’t tell me why he was upset. I soon found out. A lot of poop was about to come my way and hit other members of my family who he named but again wouldn’t tell me what exactly was going to happen.

I had a series of very disturbing dreams around Christmas of last year. 1) Missiles were going to hit LA. 2) I was running from a bunch of tornados and trying to get people to safety. In spring I had a vivid dream I was living somewhere else and looked down at my iPhone and saw a Quake feed (it is an app I had already downloaded) that read: 9.3 Southern California. In the dream I was in shock. I really thought it must have been wrong. In real life I met a woman 2 weeks later who knew someone that worked for the USGS. She had been told scientists believed that the next earthquake in Southern CA would be greater than a 9.2. According to her they were keeping it a secret since there was nothing to be done about it. Sort of the same thing I felt I was doing because if you can’t stop something isn’t it better to just enjoy your life and then deal with things as they come?

I don’t like to freak people out especially about things that are beyond our control. If there isn’t anything we can do collectively I prefer to keep scary predictions to myself which was the primary reason I went dark.

But here goes: the worst thing I have ever been given.  It was the worst  nightmare – so lucid and clearly a grave psychic warning. Humanity is on the brink of extinction. If we allow this to happen (and in the dream there was little we could do about it which made the dream even more bleak) the souls of human beings will be stuck in the Bardo. That was the exact word used in the dream. I didn’t even know what the Bardo was. I had to look it up. From the dream I saw it was a place worse than purgatory where ones worst fears and nightmares haunted them. It was clear in the dream that the vast majority of humanity would be stuck there indefinitely because no new bodies were going to be available for reincarnation – in either a very long time or perhaps ever.

Here’s a brief description from Wikipedia:

The Tibetan word bardo means literally “intermediate state” – also translated as “transitional state” or “in-between state” or “liminal state”. In Sanskrit the concept has the nameantarabhāva. It is a concept which arose soon after the Buddha’s passing, with a number of earlier Buddhist groups accepting the existence of such an intermediate state, while other schools rejected it.

Used loosely, the term “bardo” refers to the state of existence intermediate between two lives on earth. According to Tibetan tradition, after death and before one’s next birth, when one’s consciousness is not connected with a physical body, one experiences a variety of phenomena. These usually follow a particular sequence of degeneration from, just after death, the clearest experiences of reality of which one is spiritually capable, and then proceeding to terrifying hallucinations that arise from the impulses of one’s previous unskillful actions. For the prepared and appropriately trained individuals the bardo offers a state of great opportunity for liberation, since transcendental insight may arise with the direct experience of reality, while for others it can become a place of danger as the karmically created hallucinations can impel one into a less than desirable rebirth.

The term bardo can also be used metaphorically to describe times when our usual way of life becomes suspended, as, for example, during a period of illness or during a meditationretreat. Such times can prove fruitful for spiritual progress because external constraints diminish. However, they can also present challenges because our less skillful impulses may come to the foreground, just as in the sidpa bardo.

Imagine my surprise when I actually read meaning of the word. I took into account and so should you, that it may have been where I was psychologically since I was in a suspended state.

I am going to start another blog that deals with my other obsession. I’ll put a link on the blog to it. I will leave it a mystery for now as it is a touchy subject and I’ve been reticent to reveal in full.

BTW: I’d love to know what everyone thinks of the enormous amount of comet/meteor experiences. I also want to share a picture of me when I was in my band. It was just a quick polaroid (the old timey kind that you have to pull apart). Besides all the orb like things if you look in the upper left hand side you will see what looks like the ghost of a grey. I NEVER noticed this until finding this picture randomly in a box yesterday while unpacking. I’m wearing a shirt with a cartoon of a grey (a subject I wrote about extensively while in my band in the early to mid-1990s). It’s VERY FREAKY. It confirmed something for me that I will share in a separate blog for those interested in that subject matter.

Prediction for 2012 Election

OK, I did a screen shot of the prediction I made December 6, 2011 – which was a year and a half ago when Newt Gingrich was leading in the polls by 40% and was the supposed shoe in. I’m re-posting it due to its prescient nature. 

Here is the other thing I have meant to post since Ryan was named as VP was this same voice told me Ryan was the nail in Romney’s coffin. His fate had been sealed. Interesting how ridiculous and unsubstantial the RNC convention was especially in comparison to the DNC one unfolding which I had privately predicted but didn’t bother to post. 

I do want to post all the mean spirited Republican comments that have been made on this site because it only shows what these “Christian” people are made of – the word is HATE. As far as I know hate isn’t a Christian value except in Republican circles and among crazed religious zealots who stone others to death or blow themselves up in the name of their God. 

If someone does engage in hatefulness no matter what form – most especially if it that hate is utilized to hurt or destroy others – than without a doubt, ABSOLUTELY they are going against the WILL OF GOD. And they are perverting religion (no matter what kind) to fit a political agenda in order to suppress other human beings who BTW God also made. You may wish God to be on your side, but God is only on the side of the pure of heart and those who move His/Her children forward toward love, community, humility and peace. Fear, anger, hatred, suppression are all hallmarks of the opposite of a holy or God inspired or religious/spiritual person. If you choose the darkness than expect it to overwhelm you, expect to be sucked down further and further until you can’t tell anymore that you are even drowning in it – until your very soul is strangled and you cease to exist. I don’t believe in hell, but I do believe evil is soul destroying. And I mean that very literally.

Podcast Update

Alright I bought a mic this afternoon and then got a call to be on Mary Lynn Rajskub of 24 (Chloe) fame’s podcast. She has done a ridiculous amount of work including playing Adam Sandler’s sister in “Punch Drunk Love” and being on the seminal alternative comedy TV show, “Mr. Show,” (among many millions of other brilliant things she has done including stand-up comedy.) She’s not only an actress/comedian, but also a fellow visual artist and seeker. We’ve been friends since both playing the club Largo (me as a musician – she as a comedian) since the mid 1990s.

I thought it was odd that within hours of buying that mic she called about being on her podcast, which will air on Nerdist here’s the link: http://www.nerdist.com/. I will let everyone know about the interview when it happens.

I am also gearing up for my own podcast and am going to soon set up a special e-mail address that will be specifically for people who want a free reading in exchange for using your voice and reading on the podcast. The Dream… And All Your Theories…

I read a bunch of posts today after hearing there was another terrorist plot aimed at Chicago through the transport of massive amounts of explosives on a cargo airplane. Luckily, the plot was foiled.

Barry’s post about flight 389 gave me the chills. Perhaps this was a reference to aircraft being involved in the plot. All the ideas were interesting, the prime number theory, the date theory of combining 8+3=11 and then the 9 so another 9-11 sort of terrorist attempt. All of the ideas were very fascinating and made a lot of sense.

I watched some conspiracy theory info about 9-11 and the finding of thermite in the 9-11 dust. Supposedly, it is an accelerate, highly flammable and explosive. It can be added to paint without anyone knowing and then once it dries it works as an explosive. Despite my gut feeling that we were not directly involved in 9-11 I do believe our government at the time was passively involved and it is possible that this was used in the paint, one of George Bush’s brother was actually managing all the buildings that were destroyed. I don’t think there was a stand down and our government was complescent perhaps even initiated Al Quada to do the deed, but I don’t and never have had the feeling that any of our people or military knowingly were involved in this plot. I believe and know it was Bin Laden, knew that very moment it was him and his organization. Whether GB and his bunch of thugs was in on it, they were at least accessories and opportunistic if nothing more but I don’t believe they actually had anything to do with carrying out the attack directly.

OK, I’m watching Hardball I guess there was a tip from Saudi Arabia that 2 explosive packages were sent toward Jewish Centers in Chicago from Yemen. So they did indeed contain explosive material according to Obama.

Anyway, the big wild cat reference I found information about a man who designed or had a major hand in getting both those buildings built. He was nick-named the name of the cats I had in the dream. I can’t remember what they were now though and would have to go over that post. He died this summer and there was a reference to him being called by the name of a big cat. I had googled the cat name with the names of both those buildings, which is how I originally found out about him.

Anyway, thanks to everyone out there trying to help figure out this dream.

I had another dream, the first part was for me personally the second part was universal. I was told a “Great Storm,” was coming. I had this dream a few nights ago. Frankly, every time I tune into the collective energy I get depressed or literally very ill.

As a result of my feeling that we are dealing with the possibility of a lot of upheaval including the potential of an upcoming revolution – literally. I found a book called “The Fourth Turning.” There are a bunch of websites that give you the basics. It’s very similar to the astrological knowledge of Uranus cycles. These major shifts in Uranus happen about every 20 years which the author notes, of course the author is coming from the position of a historian and not an astrologer. I’m not sure he even knows about the parallels with astrology. My only argument would be some of the divisions are a little off (astrologically by just a couple of years) but the ideas are very fascinating.

We are currently in the fourth turning. Astrologicaly speaking we are going from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius and of course with change comes resistance, fear and turmoil. Once we get through the worst of it, the Age of Aquarius will be a return to reason and intellectual expansion which is why, perhaps, we are seeing those who are irrational and mindlessly religious push back in such extreme ways – they feel the loss of the herd to the rational mind. Let’s face it these are a small number of nutty extremists who are trying to push the country back to the Dark Ages.

Weird Dream

Before I get into the weird dream I just wanted to apologize for not being able to blog. I have been very busy and bogged down. I also wanted to address a person who asked what their life path number is. The way to find this out is to add up your birthday. Here’s an example: 7-7-1977  =36 = 9.  You add up every element, the day, the month and the year to get your number. It’s very simple. Numerologists differ on how to add it up as some produce master numbers (depending on how it is added together) and other ways of adding will not. My feeling is that no one is ever always a true master number. So if you have a master number in your birthday or in your name, you will have access to this but you can’t always sustain being in that energy. It’s my belief that if you add your name in any way or your birthday in any way and it gives a master number, one should use that as well as the compounded number such as 22 also = 4.

OK, here’s the dream. I was in a supermarket and all of a sudden I was shown the numbers: 9 then 8 and then 3. These numbers were shown to me several times and then put together to form the number 389. I wondered why I was shown this number. I knew I was in the middle of a dream and being contacted by a spiritual force that was trying to let me know something. I wondered if it were perhaps a winning lottery number, but confirmed it was not through use of symbolic language with my higher self.

Next I was flying over the city of Chicago. I was telling the people I was on the flight with about their being a monster who lived in both the Sears Tower and the John Hancock building. They had always been there and were known to everyone in the area. The people didn’t believe me so I took them to the police I was working with and the detectives backed up my story. A woman detective named off some bizarre obscure big cat, it was supposed to be a bit like a mountain lion, but different.

I was flying over the buildings again and this time could see some decay and thought I saw the beast in one of the towers. I can’t remember all the other details, but it felt like it was a warning of a terrorist attack or something like that against those buildings which I’d felt before might happen. However, it seemed the police knew about it and for the time being there was no immediate danger, but the fact that the cats or monsters were still in the buildings, and that there was decay implied to me there would be more attempts or perhaps even someone or something connected to both buildings potentially already eating away at the structure or already in place. Either from the construction standpoint – a flaw that could be exploited or someone connected to both of those buildings.

Cat’s generally imply (symbolically) predators – not ordinary predators but  stealthy predators. Cats sneak up on their victims, and then toy with their prey. In terms of criminals they are associated with burglary (cat burglars). Cats have the greatest kill ratio of any creature on earth outside of human beings.

My point here for Chicago is to remain on alert especially from Michigan Avenue to the Loop. I have no idea what that number meant or why I was shown it and why it was shown to me at first in reverse as 9 – 8 – 3 and then put together as 389. If I get more information or clarification on this I will post about it. If anyone else has had dreams that are similar please post them or if anyone has info that might illuminate the meaning of this dream please post it.

I’m hoping that the information I received will be enough to give pause to those it is meant to and help avoid potential disaster. Again, it seemed that things were and are OK for now, it was a warning though that something is brewing.

HI: Thank for your generous offer to answer a simple question. I’ve been feeling insanely confused on the direction of my life, especially with my career. I really hate my job and know in my heart that I should be doing something else?  The problem is I have many interest.

If i find another job will it be a risk to leave a job that is so steady? Or is a risk what I need in my life?

Right now my cardinal climax makes total sense for me. Pluto is transiting my 1st house – This has me questioning all my relationships. Uranus is transiting my 3rd house -Saturn is transiting your 9th and 10th houses –

OK, firstly I want to say you have a grand water trine with the Moon involved.  You have Uranus conjunct your Moon trine Venus in Pisces and loosely trine Mercury in Pisces and tightly trine your Moon and both your Uranus and Venus are trine Mars in the 7th house. You have both Mercury and Venus and your Sun at a very late degree 28 in Pisces, all giving you the gift or second sight, whether you have control of it or not is your decision but you have the raw talent to be extraordinarily gifted in this respect. Interestingly you have Neptune in your 12 in Sag, only reinforcing the psychic ability but for you it would be best to go through a system not from your family of origin, meaning you should study Buddhism or something else foreign if you were raised Catholic and vice versa if you were raised or grew up in an environment that was eastern based. Your chart is actually quite similar to mine although you are a bit more balanced than I but as I am missing fire you are missing earth, entirely. To clear up all that confusion, You need to do something on a large-scale, with mass appeal. You need to move the world in a big way and you, I can see why you are confused because these energies don’t jump out at one with a specific easy answer. Don’t try to figure it all out right now over time things will become clear. Just do what you are called to do for the time being, you need to learn and grow in many ways. Just go along for the ride and try not to worry. I know it’s not easy but I’ve given you some clues to follow and if you bear those in mind you will find your way.

Oh and with Pluto going through your house now (for forever!) this will cause an identity crisis. You have to push past its influence and connect to your spiritual self, your higher self to get around it and even still it is powerful and it will mess with your head especially since you are naturally ambitious and it has such a strong hold in your natal chart. You are meant to be in a position of power or government that much I’m very certain.

Next Question and Answer…

The Reader Writes: (4)

Hello, I just have a couple quick questions for you.  I’m currently unemployed, and unsure what to do next. Should I try to find a job now, or should I go get the tech certification I’ve been thinking about, THEN try and find a job with that on my resume?

Also, I’ve struggled with my weight for most of my life, and don’t have very much willpower at all. I’ve tried many different things, and nothing has worked. I’d like to only need one seat on a plane instead of two. How can I lose weight successfully?

I want to address the weight issue because being hard on yourself makes the situation worse. Believe it or not it is not will power. It is much more complicated than that and beating up on yourself only makes things worse, so don’t do that!

Right now I see that you’ve disconnected from your body, there is dark energy around your head, making me think you’ve been in a depression and are going through some sort of dark time, perhaps a grieving process. This darkness has been growing for a long time and is so heavy you can hardly see through it. You are eating without thinking due to this pain. The answer is to deal with the emotional pain, and the feeling of being lost by connecting to your higher self.

I suggest you start praying every night before you go to bed and connect with your version of God, it doesn’t have to be anything you’ve been taught, just the energy of the divine I want you to pray to. I want you to ask for clarity and relief from the darkness. And feel the love, concentrate on the love, feel the warmth (imagine this when you pray) surrounding you and visualize the darkness around your head dissolving with white light.

OK, after running a chart I can see that this individual has several areas in which to work that would be fulfilling and also lucrative. Saturn is the natural ruler of the 10^th house and it is conjunct the Moon in Virgo, so one could be involved with working at as a nurse or in the medical field. Venus rules this person’s 10^th house cusp and being in Scorpio in the 4^th conjunct Mercury and Uranus, leads me more down the direction of working with people in the last stages of their lives, this could be through hospice or through working at a mortuary, or in the innovation side of it with Mercury conjunct Uranus this person is very bright, it could also be a technology job, specifically new technologies and invention.

Actually this person’s chart has very few squares, meaning it is really up to the individual to make things happen, fate will have a minor role as compared to some people whose lives are verging on the pre-planned, this effect can be misinterpreted as laziness. Instead it is more cloudiness or a feeling of being lost most of the time and waiting for a sign to push you but none comes.

This person could have been a very successful scientist with Pluto conjunct the Sun in the 3rd house in Libra (near the fixed star Spica which gives the influence of genius). However it is entirely up to them whether they live up to their full potential or not, like everyone to some extent, but this person has been given the freedom to be sort of left alone by the Universe. This means it’s really entirely up to the person to make their way which can be very difficult and confusing and make a person feel very alone, almost abandoned in a strange sort of way. This person does have the power to plug in and get direction, but their GPS system needs work – they must clear away the intellectual and emotional debris and connect with their higher power, their higher self and by this I don’t mean God as we have been taught about Him/Her. I mean the all powerful force of love that glues everything together.  They must move steadily toward a goal and stay positive even in the face of all disaster.

They mention a weight problem which comes directly from having Jupiter in Virgo in the first house, people with this placement always struggle with their weight because Jupiter lends itself toward over indulgence and it being in Virgo makes it food related.

So to answer the questions specifically I would go for the tech certification and consider the areas I noted if it doesn’t work out long-term for you in the area you are going into right now.

I also feel you really need to work on the spiritual side of your life, you do have your north node in Virgo so you are meant to work in this lifetime in a service sort of situation especially as it is on the cusp of your 1st and 2nd houses. This means your identity and sense of self-worth as well as your income and spiritual purpose will come into focus and move forward when you are working. Your work (in the real world, meaning your job/career) is part of the main reason you are here. You have your south node in Pisces so you have spent many lifetimes where this was not your main focus, but it is very important that you contribute and use the gift of your very able intelligence, actually it is indicated that you are intellectually gifted, but this maybe obscured (to you & by the way they were wrong, you are intellectually gifted) by having grown up with a critical and harsh parent who didn’t reinforce your gifts.

Clarification…

I just want to say that I believe in humanity and feel there are many evolved and beautiful souls here on earth right now working to make this a better place. Many people may not even realize their own power and I  believe until we take our last dying breath we can still turn this ship around and make things right. I even believe we could reverse global warming if we put our minds to it. We are a complex race full of the most noble and the most base motives, all of which are intermixed in varying levels and degrees in each of us.

The other night I had written a post addressing people’s concerns. I guess I said too much because it literally would not post no matter what I did. So it was another sign that I’m to keep my mouth shut. So despite my strong desire to blab, and I do to those I talk to on a one on one basis, I am not meant to put it out there for just anyone to read for some reason. I don’t know why, but that’s the way it is and I have to respect that.

I do feel something brewing and as I said there is always hope and there are good people out there. Keep praying, working on yourself and forging your connection to the Great Spirit. I can feel people doing this and it’s helping. We have more power than anyone can imagine. We may think we are small and insignificant, but there is not a being among us who is – things are not as simple as they appear.

Karma (part 3)

So back to how I believe the Universe works and how “karma/darma” operates. The Universe is intelligence beyond our comprehension.  Ours is one of an infinite number of Universes and ours is one of an infinite number of dimensions. The best way to describe it is a circle within a circle within a circle forever smaller and larger than the circle we occupy. The Great Intelligence is infinite in every direction without beginning or end. It does not directly create, have judgment or take sides.

Actually, it is my belief that the Great Intelligence (I don’t want to call it God or Goddess because these terms are to anthropomorphic and loaded) is an energetic field in and part of all of creation – meaning each of us carries a piece of this animating force known in occult literature as the Higher Self or in religious vernacular, the soul.

So we literally have direct access to the Great Intelligence. All of us are equally connected, equally a part of this Great Intelligence as the Great Intelligence experiences/learns and grows through our processes of individuation which is also and equally a part of the Great Intelligences’ individuation and growth process – in other words we are one and the same, all of creation is directly linked to the Great Intelligence.

This being said, conversely the Great Intelligence is eternal, all-knowing, pure unconditional love. And I don’t mean love as an emotion, but love as a beingness or energetic glue of oneness which in our language is best expressed as love. The Great Intelligence is in a constant state of creative evolution and experiences all of Itself (of which I’m including you, I, and everything in the Everythingness) as an extension of itself. The Great Intelligence does not possess human emotions, motives or anything we can remotely wrap our heads around. This is where karma/darma comes in. Each Universe is set up with a set of rules and conditions that those who occupy that Universe must abide by. Our Universe is dualistic; we have light and dark, good and evil, black and white, man and woman and all that lay in-between these opposites.

In our Universe we can not know one side without experiencing the other. It is through contrast that we learn and evolve, for whatever reason this is the path our soul took in this lifetime to learn whatever it needed to in order to further our own individuation and add to the collective growth/knowledge and self-understanding of the Great Intelligence. Or, hey, maybe we just like it and find it fun and entertaining.

We know through science that time is an illusion and actually as quantum physics evolves (through string theory) the notion of parallel dimensions has become a primary component, without this string theory is rendered useless. Just by extrapolation of this theory (which dovetails well with ancient occult teachings) there are endless versions of our world where: you are born, you are not born, you decide to marry, not marry, have children, not have children, etc. And of course you are but one component of the endless possibilities and how all these things coalesce to make for the current universe we inhabit. In a sense karma helps to keep the balance among all these possibilities, without this law our souls could not make the connection between the light and dark or between action and reaction.

Karma in other words is the connective tissue between the call and the answer. I don’t believe it is punishment or favor. It is nothing more than a universal law set up so we may understand how our actions create and effect our world, loved ones, future trajectories, and really everything.

In eastern religions it is thought that we are on a wheel of Samsara or suffering. That our world is a kind of purgatory from which the ultimate goal is to ascend. I don’t believe that either. In this version of karma the idea is to reach a state of karma-lessness through meditation, and never causing injury (or help for that matter) to anything whether it be ant or human. The problem with this idea is (of which there are many in my opinion) is in order to live someone else has to die, be that plant, animal or even microbes that one breathes. There is no escaping the impact one will have by the very act of being alive. And hiding away on a mountain to meditate all night and day, eating only things without faces is a form of escapism (in my opinion, not that one doesn’t learn a lot about the soul and ones connection to the Great Intelligence this way, one does, and there is great wisdom to garner from a lifetime spent in meditation, but it won’t get anyone off the wheel).

I have this opinion because I would like nothing more than to spend all day in a tower meditating, having someone else put some bread and a bowl of soup at my door for me to “evolve” off the wheel of Samsara. But from my own memories I’ve spent many lifetimes doing just that, and I’m still here. And we have the example of the Dali Lama who keeps coming back despite leading countless ascetic hermetic lives. I’ve had to make a conscious effort not to hide away in this lifetime because I realized life was and is meant to be lived, mistakes are meant to be, and one moves off the wheel, or off this planet whenever one feels he or she is ready. It’s really that simple. What isn’t simple is our souls are far wiser than we are and hold us to a standard not easy to pass until we are truly ready and have exhausted all growth needed to move on

….In other words I believe we participate out of choice, a choice to grow and become greater than we started and whatever it is in the human experience that moves us forward, it is one of many experiences our soul will have in its eternal life. And we can choice to incarnate here or there or wherever. We have to play by the rules of the game we get into and that is that. Let’s face it hanging on the astral plane and reading the Akashic records all day would get pretty boring after awhile and one would hunger for a new way to experience the self just as the Great Intelligence hungers to grow more intelligent and to experience the self through all of Its many facets and pieces.

Karma (part 2) new

So in my opinion karma/darma is one in a set of governing laws provided as boundaries/laws which evolved to move us and the Great Intelligence (of which we are one with) forward. Christ said, “the Kingdom of Heaven is within,” a quote often overlooked and in many ways misunderstood. What he meant isn’t you can find internal peace or happiness inside, but that the way to Heaven (or the Great Intelligence) is through the divine part of the self, the part that is at one with the Great Intelligence, the part that returns to the eternal oneness, the part that is itself eternal just as the Great Intelligence is, sometimes referred to as the soul, spirit, higher-self.

We are like innumerable sparks taken from the Great Intelligence, cast out by It on myriad of adventures to expand, grow and bring back greater knowledge of the Great Self.

I had a knowing in my early 20s that we were all Individual and all One at the same time. That the nature of our dualistic universe does not allow us to see beyond Ain Soph to Kether. These restrictions are placed on us so we will stay grounded in our agreed upon time and space, so we may interact in order to learn the lessons we feel we need to learn in order to grow.

As odd as it seems, it’s been my experience and belief that to a lesser or greater degree we are co-creators of our lives. I do not believe in The Secret‘s idea of this. It is far more complicated, delicate and random than the New Age has sold this idea. I do not believe people born into poverty or to terrible parents did awful things in their past lives. Chances are better that these are highly evolved souls who choose a more difficult path, one they knew would be fraught with sacrifice and hardship in order to learn far more than those who live an easy life.

I do not believe being wealthy, famous or born into those privileges are a blessing. Instead I believe they create distortion, a bubble of isolation, misunderstanding of the world around, often a lack of empathy, a feeling of aimlessness and self-absorption. Faust sold his soul to the devil for fame and fortune and indeed this metaphor is apt. In our narcissistic culture it seems everyone is all too ready to sell even their children soul (such as Balloon Man) for a taste of fame – a tiny rush of power and a chance at prosperity.

Yet all that we seek here in the west, fame, fortune, power over others – those things that have become hallmarks of being “special,” actually take us away from the true experience of life and those things that are actually precious. It is no accident that Christ said, “It’s easier to fit a camel through the eye of a needle than a rich man into the kingdom of heaven.” And what he meant was: the more one looks outward for reward (through riches, power, fame) the further one gets from their connection to God/Great Intelligence as they fall into a bubble of narcissistic power tripping that others are all to happy to indulge due to their own ego driven narcissistic tendencies.

Take for example the recent example of Andrew Young’s book The Politician which exemplifies this idea. From Young’s interview (I haven’t read the book yet) he seemed to lack insight and of course this was and is to his benefit. He sold his soul to be close to power. John Edwards may have been his devil, but Young was surely Faust, and his attempt to purge his conscious and clear his name lacked the same insight. He didn’t seem to understand the position Elizabeth Edwards was put in, or have much compassion for her – a woman who was diagnosed with cancer and had her husband lie and cheat on her. I suppose this was because his ego was bruised from his participation in her injury and the fact that she took out her anger on him in her desire to believe her husband. I’m not saying she was perfect or that she didn’t have issues. But it’s clear that she was a typical woman, she’d been in love and married to the same man (faithfully) for 30 years. Gone through the loss of a child with this man, supported his dreams and sublimated her own desires for his. Young mentioned that they had an “odd” relationship, that Elizabeth was more like a mother than anything else to John.

Well, this is often the case when both partners are in love with the same person – in other words she was in love with a narcissist, but I’d hate to give narcissists such a bad name, I think we can go several steps farther and say this man was more likely a non-violent sociopath (they do exist – an excellent book on the topic is called The Sociopath Next Door). John Edwards not only lacked empathy, he was pathological in his lack of care for those he “loved.” His crazed narcissistic high was so great he was willing to throw everyone,  under the bus, including his dying wife, his best friends, his mistress and the whole of the Democratic Party for his own selfish ambition. Let’s face it if the dude had gotten the nomination and his affair and love child came out then, well, hey we’d have 8 years with Sarah Palin a heartbeat away from the red button. That to me proves he is at the darkest levels of selfishness besides his pathological lying, cheating and general douchbaggery.
