An Open Letter to President Barack Obama

Dear Mr. President:

Most of us wept with joy when you took the oath of office. It was an amazingly moving day, one we won’t forget. Not because you are the first African American president, although that’s a beautiful thing to see, but because you represented the hope of getting our country back.

You see, we don’t want to be an imperialist nation acting as dictators to other cultures. We want all people to get the chance to choose whatever form of government they want, even if its something we don’t understand or agree with. But most of all, we want the tyranny of multinational corporations to end. We want them to stop the exploitation of the earth, her resources and people for the sake of a few CEOs and shareholders can get ridiculously wealthy.

In you we saw our idealism reflected. A hope that we could get out of the mess the Bush administration had tied us in and we could do it with dignity, reclaiming our democracy in the process, and righting the wrongs which had been foisted upon us over the last thirty or so years.

Many of us did things we never believed possible of ourselves to get you elected. I have friends who went to different states and campaigned for you. I myself started a blog partially to inspire people to the call of change you sang out.

I know it’s only been a few months since you’ve taken office and you have done many remarkable things except the one we are all desperate for you to do; change the flow of the river of our democracy. The change you talked about, the change we envisioned along side you. Instead of the trickle up (disguised as the trickle down theory) of economics which has engrossed our land with unabashed greed, relentless ruthlessness and complicacy in the depravity of other countries who take full advantage of their people to the point that even Dickens would shudder at how dark the human soul could blacken in the search for the dollar. And which has drug us into a pit of debt and dependency on governments we should be more than weary of yet like a beaten down prostitute we get back on the street corner and do business with the same John who almost killed us last time in the name of a few bucks.

Perhaps it is a myth that we were once a nation better than this; a nation where the bottom line, bottom dollar and corporate robber barons were not looked upon with tender compassion but reviled for the filthy, money grubbing thieves they were. Where the people had pride in their work, were paid a fair wage, and we expected our corporations to abide by common laws of decent behavior.

That era has certainly died a slow painful death since the Reagan administration. We are now a nation of debtors who make nothing but intellectual property and export only culture to the world. A lot of good that would do us in a war! We are like the slacker kid who has been spoiled by his parents showering him with expensive gifts and when he comes of age to go to college there is nothing left for him to better himself because his parents had no foresight, only to please him in the moment so he would not complain.

Let us complain!

Don’t be afraid of critics or the idiot talking heads on the right. The only thing you have to be afraid of is leaving this planet in peril for your children, letting America fall the way of a Banana Republic, allowing each succeeding generation to do worse than their parents (which has already begun) and allowing corporations to continue their exploitation.

I am an American and in earnest I ask of you this question; if I can’t move to Europe, work and live as I please then how come an American corporation can set up here and export all its jobs? How can, in essence, a corporation not be restrained by the same laws of the land that govern me? If our country will allow people to manufacture wherever they want then I want to move to France and work there. It seems only fair. Why should I pay taxes when corporations find loopholes and get welfare? Why should I, or any of my fellow Americans, labor in their cubicles, solving problems so our jobs can be sent to a country that’s pay scale verges on slavery?

We can all lie to ourselves and say that these companies are helping to develop these countries, but the truth is these people work for nothing. They live in abject poverty and only a few people develop a fat wallet, those who skim the most off the top by exploiting them. This is more than absurd it is disgusting, an abomination – a moral outrage.

I beg of you to pull the plug and make some real laws that constrict these corporations to realistic growth and to realistic profits that include bringing back jobs or risk being taxed to the point where they can’t make a profit by exploiting foreign people. And for those countries that we do want to help develop, lets do so by opening divisions that service only their part of the world, allowing them to have jobs and grow their economies, pay them a fair wage for their work there and let their middle class bloom as ours did when we used this model. The model of making things here in America, by Americans and paying them a living wage.

If we don’t do this we will be a fallen empire and you the last elected president before a series of revolutions. I know some are worried about deflation with the Chinese and other developing countries who have lent us lots of dough, wanting to change the standard of currency. Some are saying our country will be like the Weimar Republic. I think it will be more akin to what happened in the Soviet Union after their fall. A world run by black market hoodlums, were crime is so out of control there won’t be enough police to find all the cracks, thieves, slave traders and pimps.

Please realize that you have a mandate. We voted for change. Change away. Change so big we can’t even imagine it! Be the Shiva of a new world order and destroy all the idiocy that has been built up in Washington so we may remake ourselves in our ideal image. If you don’t we have a million times more to loose than if you find the strength to take these horrors head on and fight them.

I don’t envy you. Your job is extreme, difficult, perhaps verging on impossible. But we all believe in you. We know better than you know yourself, that you can do it if you choose to fight for us and your children.

And I am begging you to please fight for us, our planet, our children and life itself. We are at a cross roads on this planet. I’m sure you know this better than most. Your job is vitally important to solving this and reviving the world from her current heart attack.

Peace and kind wishes,

Denise Siegel

An Open Letter to President Barack Obama

One Of Those Weeks…

It’s been one of those nutty weeks trying to catch up and of course my baby got sick which means late nights and interrupted sleep.

I was glad to see that Arlene Specter moved away from the party of nut jobbers (now at just 20% of the country calling themselves Republican since they have successfully collapsed the big tent) and with the obvious yet pathetic (on the part of his Republican adversary) attempt at keeping Al Franken from his rightful place in the Senate, but he’ll be vindicated soon, this puts the Dems at the exact 60 seats I predicted and as I said in the prediction last October it would be a squeaker. And boy was it. I was kind of shocked at the accuracy of that prediction when Specter announced his change of party.

And I’m going to toot my own horn here again and say that Obama has been doing an amazing job with the economy. As it turns out the stats are in that since he’s taken office the economy is in the process of doing a 180 and there are some economists who feel the recession maybe over as early as this summer. Pretty amazing. I would be cautiously optomistic about that one, but I do feel we will really truly be recovered in the next couple of years. The unemployment rate is preey outrageous here in California but then again we have a Republican robot Governator so what did we expect? My mother used to say that Republicans were known for their excellent foreign policy and Democrats for their domestic work. As it turns out Republican leadership isn’t good at either! Not this brand of crazy, neo-con nut-jobbers.

And has anyone noticed that the press (I noticed on my local Fox affiliate and have heard it a few other places as well) that President Obama is often referred to as Mr. Obama? I can’t think of any other sitting president who was referred to as Mr. Is this some weird kind of racism, just like the FOX news freak out about Obama showing respect for a foreign Saudi leader instead of holding hands and skipping toward photographers for a photo op. Sometimes I really think George W. had some kind of serious intellectual deficit. I think he may turn out to be our first and only mentally handicapped president. Actually, that’s an insult the mentally handicapped who are often amazingly kind and gifted people in other ways. George was certainly not that. Thank God he’s gone!!!!

Oye Vey!

I will write longer posts soon when the little one is doing better.

Best wishes and many blessings to all you fine people,

Denise

One Of Those Weeks…

Happy Inauguration!

Today felt more like New Years then New Years day did to me. It was really very moving. And inspired me to feel that we have again began to walk the right path, the one going forward. We’ve spent the last eight going backwards and imploding. I remember the Bush inauguration, boy was it different! Instead of their being over 2 million people gleefully wanting to see the President sworn in and people openly weeping with joy, the street that Bush traveled down was blocked off because there were so many protesters, many of whom were throwing eggs and various other rotten fruits and vegetables at his limo. When I think about that compared to the joy and hopefulness of this new inclusive administration that actually thought to have an open inauguration ball for the people, a president who was put in office by the good people of this land instead of corporate America, I feel pride in humanity. There are so many truly good hearted people, problem is most of them are not CEO’s or in the halls of power. But I feel with Obama we have one of our own to represent us.

I wanted to say there were some really interesting posts today and I want to get to them but will do so tomorrow. Today I want to focus on the coming administration and the chart I had for Lincoln which was wrong, and now righted, comparing it again to Obama. And also the real time that inauguration took place and what it means in terms of its resonance with the next 4 years.

barack-obama-abe-linconlLooking at these charts I see even more in common then the wrong chart for Lincoln I had. Of course, Lincoln’s birth time might be off, all I could find was a reference to him being born around sun-up and also a website that had guessed his birth time at 6:54 AM probably based on this old folk lore, but it doesn’t matter because it’s close enough to a solar chart to tell us what we need to know anyway.

There are all sorts of karmic indicators between the two men born about 150 years apart. It’s quite remarkable and seems to imply that if Obama isn’t the reincarnation of Lincoln then he is meant to finish what Lincoln started in terms of the inclusion of all people into the political process.

Here are just a few bizarre examples of the karma indicated in the charts, Obama’s rising is conjunct Lincoln’s Sun and Rising, Barack’s part of fortune is conjunct Lincoln’s Neptune and Saturn in Sagittarius, Barack’s south node is conjunct Lincoln’s Sun and rising. The south node and Saturn are both the main indicators (and the moon as well) in regards to past lives. Here we see that the south node, where would have left of in a past life is directly conjunct the rising and Sun of Lincoln, add Uranus to this conjunction, further emphasizing the Aquarian (humanitarian, global, broad minded, highly idealistic) direction that Obama not only has had in his previous life (south node) but is going toward in his current lifetime. Uranus rules Aquarius, giving Obama’s north node an Aquarian flavor. Now that’s pretty connected, but then look at Saturn, another big karmic indicator.

Obama’s Saturn is conjunct Lincoln’s part of fortune and his Moon. Again a serious karmic connection. And Lincoln’s Saturn and Neptune are directly conjunct Obama’s part of fortune. So literally, Lincoln set in motion laws and karma that directly benefitted Obama, allowing Obama to continue Lincoln’s mission of bringing idealism, hope and morality to the office of the Presidency.

Let’s not forget, not only was Lincoln coming into office while slavery, a moral outrage, was in force but also about 40 years from the Seminole war/trail of tears — the genocide of the Native American people, especially the Seminole tribes during Jackson’s administration, the Creek being one of the hardest hit. I’m sure there were plenty of Americans who didn’t like the direction the country was going in, morally ambigious (to be generous) and morally reprehensable to be more accurate. Let’s not forget the movement of people like John Brown, Harriet Tubman and a host of others who were not only against slavery, but saw it as evil. And here comes Lincoln, he played it pretty cool during the election, but his moral objection to this atrocity was so great, he was willing to push the country to war in order to correct our course. Ironically, Lincoln became president in 1861 and Obama was born exactly 100 years later in 1961. I could go on with the similarities between these two men, but I already have in a previous post and what I’m seeing now with the correction is only that these two men are more alike then I imagined.

Ok, a couple more things, their Suns are in opposite signs and their Moons make an opposition (despite it being out of sign it is still only 5 degrees apart). Especially when the Sun is involved in an opposition there are a lot of similar qualities between the two signs because when the Sun is in Leo, the Earth is in Aquarius and vice-versa. There are many other things that strike me, such as Lincoln’s Mars in Libra and Obama’s Mars in the 7th house, both fighters for justice and equality.

Obama’s love life is much better though then poor Lincoln’s who was attracted to very self-absorbed women. If Obama was Lincoln in a past life, he seems to have figured that lesson out because he has a much more harmonious love life than Lincoln did. Obama is attracted to women (in terms of long term love relationships) who are strong, dramatic, romantic and nurturing. Can’t say the same for Lincoln, he was stuck with Venus in Aries in the first, a double whammy. I bet Mary Todd was violent both verbally and physically, full of anger and selfish — these qualities may have been considered insane in a woman back then when women were supposed to put aside their own egos and support their husbands. Mary Todd probably tried to do this, but she wanted to be the center of attention and be in control. More than likely she resented her husband and the world for the unfairness women endured, having to sublimate her own needs and ambitions for her family.

Now let’s look at the inauguration chart and see what it says about the tone of the next 4 years:

barack-obama-inauguration

Wow! Can you see all that Aquarius and Pisces at the top of the chart! Despite the Moon being void of course, which in my opinion can make anything possible and isn’t necessarily a bad thing, there is a real focus on idealism, humanitarianism, the greater good and sacrificing for the good of the whole. The Sun is conjunct Mercury, Jupiter and the north node all in Aquarius in the 10th, meaning there will be a renewed sense of our common humanity, a focus on communication and through communication we will find our greatest fortune and direction.

It’s interesting to note that Aquarius rules TV and new technology. The inclusion of the “Neighborhood Ball,” that was both televised and interconnected with parties around the world via the internet and text messaging is not just a fluke with this administration. We will see Obama pushing and using new technology to interconnect humanity and to create a greater sense of community, things he’s already done but this won’t stop now that he’s become president, from this chart it looks like this will be expanded upon. He really will be open to any good idea no matter where it comes from with all that Aquarius — it means he will be thinking outside the box and won’t care about an ideology being condoned by the elite but rather will truly get inspiration, motivation and problem solving from all sorts of people.

So if you have any good ideas, seriously, e-mail him. He will pay attention. One of the things I loved was after the “Neighborhood Ball,” was his interview with a random woman reporter who I’ve never seen before, and I”m sure for her this was a huge break to get to interview the new president. He actually honestly thanked her.

He is an amazing mix of dignity, humility and confidence that is so rare. Can you imagine Bush thanking someone like this unknown entertainment reporter? No, he wouldn’t even talk to her or know her name. If she bothered to shout a question at him coming off a helicopter, Bush would probably have responded to her with something like, “No comment, Leggy.”

Doesn’t it feel like you were finally freed after being at a really crappy job for 8 years chained to a desk with only a naked buzzing florescent light bulb dangling over your head? And now you just took a long hot shower and are drinking a cup of cocoa by a fire in some nice cozy cabin? Bush being gone is such a relief, it’s hard to even believe it’s real. I’m wondering if I’m going to wake up tomorrow only to find its all been one amazing dream. It almost seems like some cheesy Hollywood movie where the good guys win. It kind of restores ones faith in goodness.

I want to mention all the Pisces in the 11th house which reinforces Obama’s message of giving back to the community and encouraging people to serve others for the good of the whole. This will also continue to be a main theme throughout his administration, not just a campaign promise or stump speech anomaly.

There are a couple of troubling things, one is Neptune making a waning square to the moon (which is void of course) involving the 7th and 11th houses, signifying there maybe unrealistic expectations placed on Obama’s administration. The Moon in Scorpio going through the 7th house of the public would indicate that people may expect him to fix the war, financial crisis and make nice-nice with the rest of the world either unrealistically fast or out of just plain old delusion.  With Pluto in Cap transiting the 8th house, the indication is major transformation and shake up related to banking, financial, corporate and halls of power. Obviously this is already showing with our failing economy and electing the first African American President who implicit in his color alone, has shaken up the Washington establishment and re-defined what a candidate not only can look like but what his message can be. Pluto in Capricorn however indicates there is more transformation in corporations, big business, financial institutions and wall street ahead. And with Mars in Capricorn in the 9th Obama will have to contend with some infighting among allies on how to deal with the world’s economic crisis. There will also be resentment toward the US by other countries who will rightfully blame us for causing this problem. However, unfairly Obama will have to deal with some very angry foreign leaders who will see us as the reason their economies are faltering. I don’t see this as being a warlike sort of thing, just heated debate among friends on how to solve this problem. I can see why some astrologers were freaking out over the potential for Obama’s assasination for the obvious reasons but also because Pluto is in the 8th house. But in my opinion and my gut, Pluto there (especially because it’s in Cap) is related to the world economic structure, financial and business worlds not Obama himself. These institutions are going to have serious trouble, many more major corporate institutions, banks, and businesses will become defunct. This will not be a time of greed, over-zealous capitalism and giant profits.

It will be a time of reckoning, spiritual evolution, appreciating what is truly important, each other and helping one another. It will be the best of times and the worst of times for big business, investors and a lot of people who may still potentially loose their jobs. However, with Taurus rising it does look like Obama will focus on creating new jobs for people. Perhaps the creation of re-education programs geared toward not only technology and service, but for working with the elderly and dying, will be encouraged through this administration.

Despite the financial sour pickle we are going to eat and the release of information (probably within the next day or so) that will make the market start to free fall some more, we will be a better, stronger, wiser, kinder people. Also with Saturn in the 5th, the stock market will have the squeeze put on it both in terms of new laws and regulations and also its numbers continuing to constrict rather then bloom.

I think we may see the end of capitalism as we have known it. But once new laws (which there will likely be many international as well) are put into place, there stock market will recover. And with Saturn being in Virgo, down the road the next set of stocks to get  hit will be health care related stuff as it seems Obama will restructure that as well.

OK, enough of my rambling. Please post your comments and questions. You all, always amaze me with your insights. I’m fortunate to have such a brilliant group of people who bother to peer inside my nutty brain.

Best wishes and many blessings to all of you,

Denise

Oh! I forgot to mention another kind of cool thing. Obama is the 44th president, that’s a karmic master number!

Happy Inauguration!

Answering Readers…

Readers questions answered.

From:

karidad

I read your blog with great interest – and have sent it on to others. I have a question about Proposition 8. As a lesbian with a partner of 20 years, we were delighted to finally have a legal wedding on Sept 27th. Our party favors were No on Prop 8 yard signs and Obama/Biden stickers.
BUT now I hear that Prop 8 may pass.
This is really distressing. Could you tell me what you ’see’?
Thank you

I was delighted as well when this passed and all people were recognized as human beings with the right to share their life with the person they love. How beautiful is that? Isn’t that what we all want. I can’t believe it has ever even been an issue in our land of “freedom.”

It was about time.

I don’t understand how anyone could believe they have the right to interfere in another person’s life, stand in someone’s way to happiness and the right of all people to have a family. It really upsets me, but anyway. I’ve seen the lame prop 8 ads, and it’s really been upsetting me, too. So let’s ask the tarot:

Will Prop 8 Pass?

It will be close.

But NO it will not pass.

Phew, I was worried there. I do feel that it is imperative for people to really get out and let their voices be heard about this. Like I said, sadly, it will be close. But it looks like there are enough people who see loving another as a right and they won’t take it away.

From another Reader:

Hello, I represent an online community of individuals who suffer from acne scarring and other types of facial scarring (due to surgery, burns, etc). As of yet there are no procedures that can offer us any real improvement and so we’re looking to the newly emerging field of tissue regeneration to yield a real solution. There is currently a global race between countries and scientists to see who can achieve perfect skin regeneration and scarless healing first. Many scientists are confident that humans contain the dormant capacity to regenerate tissue and organs, and that that can be turned on with proper gene-therapy and other types of stimulating treatments. Other scientists are working on means of “rebuilding” lost or damaged tissues. But the truth is that we do not know for sure if any of this is truly possible. However, it is something that many scientists are working hard to figure out.

That said, with the impending global financial crisis, many of us have become disheartened that research that will lead to scarless healing/skin regeneration will lose steam or halt completely. Could you give us any insight into the following questions?:

1.) What do you forsee happening in the next 20 years with the progress of stem cell research and the development of other tissue regeneration technologies? How badly will they be affected by the financial crisis?

2.) Some of us in this online community have discussed at length contacting an existing research institute in hopes of starting a foundation within the institute devoted solely to skin regeneration. We would endeavor to raise funds by contacting millionaire/billionaire biotech investors around the globe. If scarless healing ever is achieved it will be worth billions. In these tumultuous financial times, is it even worth our effort to try and spearhead something like this? If not, when WILL it be the right time to start something like this?

3.) Will we ever make the scientific advancements & developments necessary to achieve perfect or near-perfect skin regeneration on individuals who’s skin has been badly damaged (i.e. acne scarring or third degree burns)?

4.) If so, when will this happen/what is the timeframe (i.e. 10 years… 20 years….30 years…. 100 years….. never?)

5.) From what country will the solution emerge?

We are essentially a group of people with deeply broken hearts, hanging onto hope that we aren’t even sure is valid. Modern medicine does not currently have an answer for us, but it is our deepest hope that someday it will. However, if it is not to be in our lifetime, then knowing that would help all of us to move on and not spend any more time waiting in vain. Perhaps you can help ease the burden of “not knowing” by infusing our search with a little foresight into the future.

In Deepest Gratitude,

Octavia

Hi Octavia. I’m very sorry to hear about the plight of so many with this problem. I will try to tackle as much and as many of these questions as possible.

I asked the tarot if there would be any significant advancement in the next 10 years:

The tarot gave me a maybe.

It will depend on all of you. You will be able to sell this idea to a research/cosmetic or medical company, mainly for cosmetic reasons that can be applied to the larger population. You guys need to gather a think tank and figure out how your healing your condition could benefit the greater market. For example perhaps this condition if cured could lead to doctors using this treatment post surgery so people would not get scares. This would be especially appealing to the plastic surgery community. You also maybe able to convince researchers to get to the root of the problem with similar broader application. Perhaps if it is a genetic collegan problem then understanding how this gene works and repairing it may also be applied to how to enhance this gene in ordinary people so their skin can look perpetually youthful. Don’t loose hope. You guys just need some angles outside of your group. I believe if you start working on it, and ask me this question again in six months or a year, after you have made a plan, there will be a very different outcome and the answer will be yes. You will see a cure. But you guys are going to have to make it happen.

You can do this even with the financial market in crisis. And actually, oddly this came up as an advantage because once the turmoil settles a bit, there will be people looking to invest in new technology, especially medical technology as the baby boomers age. And as we all know, they are the biggest generation on the planet. I have a strong feeling once you hone your plan you will find investors willing to help you get it to the next level.

I found this post to be important and timely:

I have been watching the news coverage of McCain/Palin rallies and I can’t believe all the hatred especially from some of the African American people. It leaves me uncomfortable as a black person. Literally, the feeling I have is down right sick to my stomach. Why are people negative about Barack Obama? I understand having a difference in views and opinions but HATE…why? I am not for Obama because he is black. I’m for Obama because of his policies and the sense of his character. Like I’ve said before, I feel something about him that is different and honest and feel he is for the people. I would encourage any candidate if I felt the same way about him. I don’t understand why McCain is encouraging this hate by speaking the way he does at these rallies. McCain is not speaking about the issues important to me and the policies he has I don’t agree with. But, I don’t wish him harm or hate. I just won’t vote for him…that’s all. Karma has to come and take care of McCain/Palin. All this negative energy is unbelievable…it too much. I’m not naive, believe me, I know racism but come on. I don’t see any democrats yelling out ignorance…why do republicans? Yes, Obama is a bi-racial. Yes, he has a Kenyan name. Ok, let’s move on!

I couldn’t agree more with you about McCain/Palin whipping up hatred and racism. It is despicable, dishonorable, traitorous, disgusting, pathetic and desperate. It pains me to say the reason they are doing this is because that’s all they’ve got. They are both clearly morons with no answers. Neither of them answer a question directly or have any clue how to get us out of this financial crisis. In Palin’s case she went to 5 party schools taking a total of 6 years to get her bachelors degree. In McCain’s class he graduated in the bottom 5 of his class.

Barack Obama had an academic scholarship to Harvard. I think its clear that Obama does not just have a compassionate agenda, and is even keel, but he’s also a brilliant man. Clearly, we need someone with a brain to get us out of the mess the last nit wit put us in. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that after 8 years of Bush we’re bankrupt. He did the same thing to every company he headed. He even managed to bankrupt a Texas oil company. That’s like going broke selling gold for copper. It doesn’t even make sense. I can’t tell you how angry I am that we have such an ignorant, mean spirited, doggedly small minded contingency of Americans. It is beyond sad. I used to believe most people were good. I’m starting to believe that there is a huge percentage of people who don’t want to think. They may not be “bad” people, but they just want an authoritarian style leader, they live in fear, are reactive, cloistered and unintelligent. They think of politics like some people think of sports, they’re team Red no matter how insane, or terrible their candidate might be. These people are not thinking about how their “team” will impact their life but rather they have some kind of identity wrapped up in belonging to this group. Even if it means their extinction, a global depression, their daughters inability to get an abortion if raped by a relative, or the loss of their own job. It’s just mindless! I wish they would pay attention to the actual truth, listen to the positions, look at people’s records and vote according to who is best for our country not because they want their team to win or because they can’t stand the idea of anyone other than a white person being president. Let’s face it, this is the undercurrent of the Republicans. I’ve had people post insanely racist things about Obama, which of course I deleted. I wish the media would deal with this, it’s just disgusting.

I read an article on a blog, someone analyzed Palin’s IQ at between 100 and 115. Here’s the link if anyone is interested in reading this person’s assesment: http://www.halfsigma.com/2008/09/sarah-palins-iq-no-higher-than-110.html

If she were on the higher end of this scale, she’d be smarter than something like 75% of the American people. That is really scary! The more we are finding out about Palin the more frightening she gets. I recently read she is a Dominion, a branch of Evangelicals who believe in ushering in the end of days, better known as Armageddon. Here’s a quick little explanation I found:

Dominion Theology

From Sociologist Sara Diamond in an article titled “Dominion Theology:”

More prevalent on the Christian Right is the Dominionist idea, shared by Reconstructionists, that Christians alone are Biblically mandated to occupy all secular institutions until Christ returns — and there is no consensus on when that might be.

From George Grant, a leading dominionist writer in The Changing of the Guard, Biblical Principles for Political Action:

Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ — to have dominion in civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness.

But it is dominion we are after. Not just a voice.

It is dominion we are after. Not just influence.

It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time.

It is dominion we are after.

World conquest. That’s what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we must never settle for anything less… Thus, Christian politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land — of men, families, institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments for the Kingdom of Christ. (pp. 50-51)

(The above quote comes from Dominion Theology: Blessing or Curse by Thomas Ice, published in 1988 by H. Wayne House and Thomas Ice. pp. 412)

From Reconstructionism to Dominionism, Part 1, Talk To Action, November 25, 2005 — Includes links to interviews Bill Moyers gave with Rousas Rushdooney in 1989

Sorry to get so angry about all of this. I just don’t like people playing dirty, being cruel or illiciting violence against others. Hate mongering makes me very angry!

We must not be passive in the face of violent hate mongers. As the famous poem states about Nazi Germany:

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist. When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn’t a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

We are all going to need to be, not just compassionate, kind and honest right now, but feisty as well. We are in for some very strange and difficult times. And the kind hearted can not let themselves be trampled on any longer!

Blessings and best wishes to all of you.

Global Economy; The Start Of The Collapse…

I’m sorry to say that I saw this coming, like dominoes we will see all markets starting to collapse. I’ve had people ask me if it was safe to invest in other foreign markets, my answer to them has been no. I wish I would have posted this instead of talking just talking about it to several people. My hope is that none of you pulled your money out of the stock market, and put it into another market. I did warn about the domino effect in an earlier post. But I wish I would have addressed this directly in a separate post since so many people seemed confused about this issue.

A friend told me that his financial adviser said a few conventional things (after he told his advisor my predictions). 1) Not much happens historically in the market place in December and 2) Over time the market will rectify itself. But we will not see anything conventional over the next couple of years, this is the problem with listening solely to financial adviser types. You must trust your own intuition, but not your fear.

In my friend’s case, he has enough diversity and time on his side that even if 75% of all the stocks he owned went belly up he’d be OK. He wouldn’t go broke. He wouldn’t really gain anything though. We are all in a quandary as to where to put our money. I’ve been asked that question a lot. Should you hide cash in your house? Will the FDIC fail? Is there anything really safe?

The sad answer to this is, not really, nothing is safe right now. The safest thing is an FDIC account, however if your bank goes under it may take awhile for you to get your money. But keeping large amounts of cash in your house is not a good idea for obvious reasons. Another friend asked if real estate investing was a good way to go. Well, not right now because it will be a liability. If people can’t afford to pay rent then you still have to pay the mortgage and the taxes and the upkeep.

So for now. I’d say, try not to freak out. Just keep your money in a safe conservative bank. Maybe some extra cash on hand, nothing crazy though, some extra food, water and necessities and save your money. Things will get better once Obama takes office. Things won’t turn around overnight, but plans will be put in place, action will be taken to save the middle class. This I see so clearly. And this will start the turn around. And with that there will be more hope, more confidence and things will start to move (slowly) toward the America we’ve known so far. But hold onto your hats for awhile things are going to get really scary before they get better. And don’t invest in anything right now! If you’re still in the market, it maybe too late to get out without losing, so use your best intuitive judgement there.

Just remember, things will get better, we’ll get through this. Make sure to be active in politics. Those of us who couldn’t understand how politics directly effected us will see exactly how it does. It’s important for us as citizens to stay informed and participate.

Best wishes and good luck.

PS. Remember don’t let fear get the better of you. You will be seeing some very scary things, and as I said in an earlier post late December something very mind boggling is going to happen in regards to the market. But, we will be OK. I feel the country turning toward the light. It will ultimately be OK. We’ll have some trouble for awhile, but hold tight and save, save, SAVE!

Blessings to you.

Will Barack Obama Win The Next Presidential Debate On October 7? The Tarot Answers…

A lot of readers have wondered who would win the next presidential debate October 7th. And since I have to answer this in a yes/no spread I asked the tarot, Will Barack Obama win the next presidential debate:

The answer:

Yes

Obama will be in control, well informed, temperate, and ultimately at the root of the answer. He will be victorious. But it will be an empty victory as John McCain will be down in the polls.

We will see a strange, dark side of McCain during this debate, something glimpsed at the last debate. He will come across as playing unfairly and as a power grabber. A bit like a cornered animal. But this will appeal to the base of the Republican party, so he won’t destroy himself either. Those who are staunch supporters will stay on McCain’s boat, but Obama will convert more undecided voters and those who have started to stray from Republican ideology.

Will Barack Obama Win The Next Presidential Debate On October 7? The Tarot Answers…

Is McCain Afraid to Debate Obama?

According to the tarot, McCain knows that he is lost when it comes to his economy. This is not McCain’s strong suit and the McCain camp knows it. The debate was supposed to be about foreign policy but the McCain camp knows issues about the economy will come up because of this crisis. McCain is afraid he can not cram for the issues of economic debate. He had planned to work on this after the foreign policy debate which he will do well on, has a strong foundation but he hasn’t been able to retain the complexities of the economy and is very confused about it.

Comparison chart of FDR and Barack Obama

A friend told me there has been comparison made between Obama and FDR. Let’s see how this stacks up against their astrology. In FDR’s case we don’t have his time of birth, but I’ve done a solar chart which will give us a pretty good comparison to Obama except for the placement of planets in FDR’s houses.

Both have a Sun Mercury conjunction giving them intelligence, diplomacy and understanding of financial matters, close ties to women, and good oratory abilities. Both have a planet at 1 degree Cancer in FDR’s case it’s his moon and in Obama’s case his Venus. In the chart of the US Constitution this is a critical point as it is the mid-point between the US’s Mars and south node in the 5th house of speculation (also ruling the stock market). They understand crisis well and FDR responded emotionally (some would say his wife did, which would make sense as the moon is in the 5th and would indicate her) and Obama understands it fiscally and diplomatically — a more cool approach, but solid. Both had and have great passion when it comes to domestic issues especially in regards to the 5th house — stock market.

Barack’s point of fortune is on the US Constitution’s Moon, giving good luck when we need it most in foreign affairs (Sag rules the foreign) and in the 10th which is the career or industry of the nation. FDR had his North node there and it also gave us luck and a vision of how to solve future problems via government oversight and regulations which the Republicans have widdled away at ever since. As a side, we are now seeing the effects of deregulation and non regulation in the case of China — it doesn’t work, never has. It’s akin to putting the fox in charge of the hen house.

FDR  had a stellium in Taurus trining the US’s stellium in Virgo. Barack has conjunctions to this stellium, both good in this instance. Barack’s rising conjuncts FDR’s Sun and reflects the same humanitarian urges FDR showed during the Great Depression.

They definitely have major differences as well. FDR had a lot of air and earth in his chart making him even cooler than Obama, who would come at this crisis with tremendous passion and dedication to solving it, not unlike FDR, but the style would be different. FDR came at it with the same resolve, but in a more plodding manner.

FDR had Neptune in Taurus close to the same degree Obama’s opposite Neptune in Scorpio, again the see-saw, similar in a way. Obama however is more spiritual, FDR more pragmatic. I wouldn’t be surprised to find that FDR was completely secular. Obama looks for the hidden and has a genuine interest in the spiritual.

Barack has Saturn in Capricorn opposite the US Constitution’s Uranus, helping to stabilize unseen, out of the blue lightning strikes. This also gives him tremendous ability to foresee potential problems before they happen. He may not realize it, but his intuition about the state of the Union is right on. Barack has both his Sun and Mercury trining the US Constitution’s Moon, again helping to stabilize the country and sooth the emotional roller coaster we’re feeling. FDR had his Sun and Venus sextiling the US Constitution’s Moon again creating the opportunity to do the same, but not with as much punch as Obama’s.

While the two are not the same, having very different personalities, both their charts give luck, stabilization and confidence to the US’s chart. I’m not saying Obama is magic and all our problems will dissolve if (and hopefully for our sake when) he becomes president, but he will significantly ease our upcoming difficulties and be a great president. It may take a while for him to unravel this mess, but he will be able to get us back on track and the longer he stays in office the more he’ll be able to dig us out of the rabbit hole.

There are definite parallels between these two men. Both great in a crisis with tremendous aspects to the US chart.

Barack Obama vs. Abraham Lincoln

Their career paths have been compared, and almost parallel in their meteoric rise from being state legislators to Presidents (in Obama’s case potential president). But what do their charts say. Are they similar? And if so how? Let’s take a look at the man who helped start the Republican party and the current lead Democrat.

Despite the unknown time of Lincoln’s actual birth we can still compare the basics so here goes:

Although Lincoln was an Aquarian he had a lot of water in his chart, specifically Pisces which gave him great compassion for the down trodden. Pisces is opposite of Virgo and the two have a lot in common, as Leo is opposite of Aquarius. Again both signs share similarities, this is because if you have the sun in Leo like Barack Obama your earth is in Aquarius, meaning the earth is actually traveling through the constellation of Aquarius. So in a sense opposites are not really opposites in astrology but rather two sides of a see-saw.

WIth so his sun and moon in Aquarius Lincoln definitely thought outside the box and was ruled by his principles but unlike Sarah Palin who is utterly lacking in compassionate or sensitivity in her chart, Lincoln had oodles of it. He was a visionary, literally and extremely intuitive, eccentric, odd looking as we know and a revolutionary for the greater good. His chart is heavy on trines like Barack’s making it easy to communicate, rise to the head of the class and understand others on a very gut level, very similar to Barack Obama’s abilities. Barack shows great aptitude for communication and shows intellectual brilliance in his chart, Lincoln shows immense genius with Uranus making a trine to his mercury both in water signs he was probably spooky (if you knew him personally) in his ability to read things others couldn’t see and size up situations in a glance. His chart is the stuff of legends. He also had Mars in Libra trining his sun, making fairness a huge issue for him much like Obama. The civil war probably pained Lincoln greatly on a personal level as he wasn’t a hawk but would have preferred to work things out through debate, alas this was not his fate. Saturn and Neptune conjunct in Sagittarius gave him charisma and uncannily good luck in his career. But it also gave him trouble as evidenced by his assassination (square to Mercury with Neptune there — Neptune bringing loss.) This was not helped by his Uranus, ruler of his sun and moon in Scorpio (can mean sudden death) square his moon. His Venus inconjunct Uranus also brought turmoil to his relationships with women and his love life which he probably didn’t see until he was smack in the middle of it and it was too late to bail out.

Obama’s chart is more stable, grounded and service oriented rather than sacrifice oriented like Lincoln’s but there are some real similarities between these two men. Obama however is a more dramatic orator, (supposedly Lincoln had a strange high pitched voice and of course Obama has a deep melidious one) and his passion is more on a gut level than Lincoln’s which was more intellectual in nature. Neither are/or where hawkish in their world view but rather keen to diplomacy first. Obama is more of a fighter with so much Leo in his chart, some would say a bit more bombastic but also much warmer. It’s doubtful that a man like Lincoln could be president during our age of TV and the internet, as his looks and personality would have been very eccentric and off putting at close inspection. Obama on the other hand has the charm and charisma needed to win the office in contemporary culture with good looks and personality playing such a key role in elections.

Obama is about as close to the likes of Lincoln as we could concievably see in contemporary America. There are some real parallels not just in their careers but in their personalities. Obama’s main focus is the working person however, and of course Lincoln’s was a bigger more pervasive assumption that he tackled. Lincoln’s chart reflects his ability to truly shake up the statis quo, Obama’s is not really set up like that, it is focused primarily on serving the everyday American trying to get by and the economy which if Obama wins we’ll be able to dig ourselves out of the rabbit hole. If not, if McCain wins look for a major global Depression where the rich get richer and less and less fit into that one percent. Our nation will look like a bad day in Tijuana. We will see the end of the middle class if McCain wins at least until someone else takes the reigns but by then it maybe too late.

MAKE SURE TO VOTE NOVEMBER 2.

Barack Obama vs. Abraham Lincoln

Barack Obama – his chart, who is he?

It’s interesting to see how prevalent the 7th house is in the charts of politicians. As law makers it makes sense being that the 7th house rules courts and justice as well as partnerships, the public and open enemies.

In Barack’s case we see a lot of 7th house action, his mind is defintely occupied with issues of fairness, equality and service. His Leo sun is reigned in by the 6th house of service so any bombast is tempered with his desire to serve coupled with his opposition to Uranus in the 7th and his Aquarius rising he has strong desire to serve humanity.

With his Pluto in the 7th his partner is strong, as we know. And has great influence, as well as Joe Biden will. He takes into consideration other points of view and weighs them heavily in his decision making process.

Moon in Gemini trine his Jupiter gives him a cool emotional demeanor and an understanding of both foreign and domestic people. His childhood would involve a lot of emotional ups and downs and moving quite a bit, this is also public knowledge but is indicated in his chart. His mother was an intellectual and teacher, (Moon in Gemini in the 4th) this created great opportunity for him to grow intellectually as moon trines his Mercury in the 6th. Again he puts his knowledge into serving the greater good. Not surprising he would become a community organizer as his need to serve is strong and taught him a lot about the world and himself.

Mars in Virgo in the 6th again reinforces his desire to play fair and serve others in the process which is probably why he was attracted to law. but the kind of law he was interested in and is interested in is focused on workers and their plight, those that serve others, he identifies with them which is part of his passion to serve.

He has the ability to think outside the box (Aquarius rising) but this is balanced by many factors in his chart which enable him to think in gradations of color as opposed to the black and white world of someone like Sarah Palin who has a proponderance of fixed signs and too much Aquarius in her chart leading her into the realm of magical thinking and the inability to listen to others, this quality often referred derogatorily as “a know it all,” is not present in Barack Obama. His chart is balanced with all the elements and enough mutable signs to offset his fixed sun and rising. He is strong in his convictions without being married to his ideas, able to amend his position to changes that come along when necessary and capable of listening to a good case and changing his mind to fit the facts and circumstances.

His emotional center is his home life, his wife and children, and his mother. Jupiter in Aquarius in the 12th making a trine to his moon will ultimately be a great benefit, just as the chips look down for him luck strikes and fate helps him along.

All in all he is compassionate, service orientated, humanitarian and extremely intelligent, if this makes him an elitist then we should all be so lucky as to be called this. His excellent aspects make him capable in many ways, not just his general intelligence, ability to understand the working person, his service oriented personality but also he understands finances not just the big picture but the details of the economy. Notice the trine between Saturn in Capricorn in the 12th and Mars in Virgo. He understands what is going on behind the scenes, things we the public do not see and knows how to fix this via legislation, Mars in the 7th in Virgo. It’s no surprise that the top wealthiest among us those in the top one percent fear him because he is not going to be a giant help to them but rather to us, the everyday people who work for a living. He has many enemies in that elite group and it will be no surprise that they will pull out all the stops to make sure he’s not elected including resulting to fear tactics (geared to the naive) which will more than likely be their main focus in trying to take him down. But alas, he does have Jupiter there to save him. So he does have hidden forces who support him and luck on his side.

He will restore our good name in the world and put our economy back on track and with all the Virgo in his chart he will reform health care for the betterment of us in the middle class.

So make sure to vote!
