Back To Astrology…

I’ve gotten several requests for how to figure different issues out in terms of astrology such as: when the best time to start a business is and just general information about how to use astrology to help with people’s personal lives.

Astrology is a complex art and it would be difficult for me, even impossible for me to detail the best time to start a business or how to fully interpret a chart in a few posts but I do plan on giving some tips and also I highly recommend this series of books authored by Marion March and Joan McEvers which break down the basics of astrology allowing each individual to put it together in a way that makes sense for them. Here are links to each of the books in the series:
The Only Way to Learn Astrology, Volume 1, Second Edition
The Only Way to Learn Astrology, Vol. 2: Math & Interpretation Techniques
The Only Way to Learn Astrology: Horoscope Analysis Vol. 3
Only Way to Learn About Tomorrow
The Only Way to Learn About Relationships, Vol. 5: Synastry Techniques
The Only Way to Learn about Horary and Electional Astrology, Vol. 6

I started off as a psychic (professionally) and was born with that ability, have always had dreams that came true, knowings, visions, etc. In my teen years when my ability got to be too much for me to handle I tried to turn it off only to find it come back times 100 when I moved out on my own. I was overwhelmed and began studying methods so I could control the ability rather than it controlling me. I learned to read the tarot, and pretty much every form of divination. Studied with a number of old time occultists and learned many tricks on how to stop and start the ability at will, how to psychically protect myself and how to focus the ability so that it could be used in almost any situation. It wasn’t until I was working in my early 20s as a professional psychic that I met many astrologers who started teaching me the art. I did not learn from this set of books, but from other astrologers who all recommended these books once they came out (however by then I already had my system down) and also from earlier books that were more esoteric and not as well organized as this series is.

It certainly helps a person’s work as an astrologer if they have psychic ability although it is not required to do a good job. And actually astrology is a tool that can be used by everyone to help see them through difficult times by explaining the lessons to be learned and by the gift of knowing the situation a person is in at that time is not permanent but temporal. It also can give clarity when we are lost, and give a person a place to direct their energy.

We are all born with different talents and abilities. It’s always been my theory that we all have some gift given to us, something we are brilliant at, which if tapped into, will not only provide for us financially, but add to the greater collective good, if we use it. However, most people don’t use their true gift because they are encouraged to become this or that by their parents who are often trying to be practical, and have the best intentions by doing so. Often however people are encouraged to go into fields which may pay well at the time they go into them, but they find that not only are they miserable in their job/career the path they have chosen but as time marches on their forced profession becomes antiquated and less and less practical.

Here’s the thing, if we follow our gifts we are rewarded. If we try to be too logical and do what will pay the most we end up chasing a dollar, and as we’ve seen it doesn’t lead to anymore stability than following our natural gift. This is one of the great gifts of astrology, it enables us to be clear about where to direct our energy and what our true gifts are as well as when the timing in our life will come together with our goals.

I was talking to a musician the other day, he and his wife (who is a writer) both felt when they made their choices at an early age to follow their dreams they were being crazy, foolish and impractical. This is how their families made them feel. He was encouraged to go into a trade and make a good honest living. Well, as he could see 20 years later, he had actually carved a niche for himself and was just as stable as a guy who became a plumber. Actually more stable than someone who took up a trade at least at this juncture in time. He made the point that he felt bad for those people who had abandoned their dreams only to find themselves out of a job now as well as unhappy in their career choice. They often thought they were making a sacrifice to have stability and family taking up what they thought was practical only to have it snatched away from them. (This is an issue I will go into in my next post.)

When my father was born in 1914 (crazy, huh, he was 24 years older than my mother) being a mechanical engineer was the highest paying gig there was. Of course his mother who was very worried about money and status, forced him into that profession. He died in 1977 and even by that time all the big sky scrappers had pretty much been built along with the subway systems in major cities (of which he engineered many in Chicago when he was younger). So by the end of his career he was doing industrial buildings, and had his own construction business which wasn’t very stable. We had wildly varying income flow when I was growing up and of course when he died, it was just all around bad , but you see my point.

What may seem very stable at one point in time can collapse, to be replaced by something else. At this point in our history as Americans we export very few products overseas, mostly we export our culture which is art, music, film, TV. We don’t make many things anymore.

40 years ago when my grandmother worked at US Steel in Gary, Indiana if you would have told someone America would be producing almost nothing they would have thought you were a crazy person. “But America is known for making the best products in the world. We are known for our great craftsmanship, and innovation.” Well, now that would be Japan for autos and everything else is made in what used to be an industrial joke, China.

Back to astrology again. The thing about it is every planet rules different professions, industries and they can be very diverse. For example: Neptune rules music, film, photography, oil, fisherman, drunks, drug addicts, psychics, spirituality, gurus, spiritual products and anything to do with the sea, so boats, boat making etc. Now depending on what house Neptune falls (as each house has a meaning) and what sign we can narrow down how Neptune will act in a person’s chart. This along with aspects the planets make to each other and a weighting system, a lot can be told. But still there are many permutations of each planet and each house, even how aspects work. This is where intuition comes in handy, or if one is a more left brained full blown astrologer some strictures and systems that an astrologer develops over time as their personal guide.

To make things more complicated there are numerous types of house systems based on different theories. I use the old stand by Placidus, but many people prefer Koch, or any variety of dozens of different ways to break the heavens down. And to even further complicate things there are 2 entirely different types of astrology, Western/Tropical and Vedic/Sidereal. Tropical uses the ancient placement of the heavens and Sidereal the actual placement. As the poles have shifted (they are always on the move and go completely through a constellation over a period of about 2000 years — we entered the Piscean age around the time of Christ and are now getting close to the Aquarian age) the placement of the stars within the constellations shifts. Currently, the two systems are off by about 24 degrees. So unless a person is born at the end of a sign, such as a Capricorn born on January 20th, then that person would sidereally be a Sagittarius.

There is good news though for anyone interested in studying the ancient art of astrology, as long as a person commits to a system it seems to work. It doesn’t seem to matter which system, somehow there is enough repetition and synchronicity in the stars for all of the different permutations of astrology to work. Astrologers generally arrive at the same conclusions no matter what system they use. I suppose it’s like the old adage all roads lead to the same mountain peak. Or to be more contemporary, astrology is fractal, a microcosm of the macrocosm, and when examining a chart the system a person uses, decodes the chart according to the strictures of that system.

I have found that for westerners the western systems works best as the eastern/vedic type of astrology has a tendency to be more fatalistic which is appropriate in countries and cultures where people have arranged marriages, or are tracked in certain ways and given less freedom to pursue themselves than in western cultures. I would imagine for those who are born and live in those cultures it would be best to stick with the astrology of that culture as it would be most accurate to the environment.

So over the next couple of weeks I’ll try and give some basic break downs of how astrology works, and how people can interpret their own charts, and even perhaps find the best time to buy cars, set up business, etc. I will use the charts of some of the people who have written me via e-mail without of course using their names so they can remain anonymous.

If anyone has an astrological question about how to read something in their chart or wants me to cover a specific astrological question you can e-mail me at: happypeopleusa@aol.com. I will use your info and question anonymously to be answered on the blog. I may not be able to answer everyone if there are too many questions, but I will try.

Best wishes and many blessings to all you good people,

Denise

Oil and Gold..

picture-71

The trend in the oil futures market with Pluto conjuncting natal Neptune in the 6th house has been for loss, and because it rules the natal 10th, a sense that there isn’t much of a future in oil futures. It’s interesting to note that Uranus was conjunct the United States Oil Fund’s Mercury this summer in the 10th, creating the spike in prices. Mercury is the chart ruler of USOF and also rules the 4th house (which in this case would be prices here at home).

From what I can discern of these 2 charts it seems the Futures market applies to the way oil is seen as a future investment and how it will trend, where as the USOF is more about what is going on in the market currently. Accordingly, Pluto is transiting through the Oil Futures market, and as I stated conjuncting Neptune the planet of loss, it will then make an opposition to the first as it crosses into the 7th house, and will square the natal Sun, this aspect becomes exact at the end of February 2012 and I would take it to mean the bottom dropping out of this market at that point and serious losses for a long time with good and bad months, mostly bad from then on until a little upturn about 2 years later. However for now there will be an upswing coming at the end of January 09 around the 21st and from there it will stay on an up ride until the end of June, recede a bit and then go up again as Pluto will be making a sextile to the Crude Oil Futures’ natal Saturn and then sextile the Moon. Both positive aspects that will create opportunity for speculators.

In terms of the USOF, there will be a spike in value starting in early March 09 for about a couple of weeks as transiting Neptune (ruler of oil) conjuncts the USOF’s chart ruler Mercury. This same configuration happened over the summer when oil prices went nuts. And in April of 09 there should be talk of expansion, again more money to be made, but it will be through the USOF tapping into new ways of using old technology, perhaps ethanol or something like that will make investing in oil and oil revenues go up. Neptune will be making a trine to Jupiter in the 6th and will be conjuncting the 11th house at that time exactly. So money will be made through innovation, new hope for the future in regards to how to utilize oil and since Jupiter is in the 6th which is Virgo related. And Virgo rules grain and corn, I’d have to go with the idea that ethanol will seem like some sort of savior to the Oil industry at that time and people will invest in oil more heavily.

OK, I’m going to move on to Gold:

picture-111

Interesting that transiting Pluto is going over the Spdr Gold Trust’s first house. I know nothing about this, but from looking at the chart and thinking about this aspect, I’m wondering if perhaps some of the gold in this trust was acquired through raiding the dead. The first thought that pops into my mind is that something has or will come out about gold illegally acquired during the Holocaust, or through something like that. This rumor I don’t feel will ruin the trust, but it could cause some changes and an attempt to change their image.

However by late January of 09, and off and on over 09 transiting Pluto will be making a sextile to natal Uranus and there will be sudden sharp rise in gold, and then the value will back down and rise again suddenly. Those periods of sudden rising should be around January 20, 09 through to early March, then again about 10 days into May of 09 until about the 21st of June 09 and again at the end of November 09 for about a month.

In terms of gold futures, it should be fine for the time being, nothing to write home about. But in February of 2012 look out, there are a mess of bad aspects. So if you are invested in gold futures I would get out in the next few years as transiting Pluto will hit the natal Sun (the Sun rules gold) and will square the ascendant and natal Pluto and it will be exactly conjunct the 4th house cusp, opposing the 10th. All in all not good! Before this happens in 2012 there will be a little pre-shock wave (minor but it will be a warning) off and on in 2011 starting in March. That will be when transiting Pluto will be inconjuncting the Gold Futures’ moon and there will be some fluctuations and volatility starting then.

OK, more questions to answer tomorrow, now it is time for sleep! I will get to the S & P tomorrow as well as other questions.

Thanks to all of you out there.

Wishing you all well and many blessings,

Denise

Answering Readers’ Questions…

The first question comes from Octavia:

Octavia

Denise, thank you so much for answering my questions. I’m going to be purchasing a 15-20 minute session in the next 2 or 3 weeks, but I was wondering if you could just answer yes or no on this question: Within 25 years will the technology/medical advancements exist that will enable perfect to near-perfect facial skin regeneration?

Thanks so much,

Octavia

The Tarot’s answer:

Yes.

In the next 25 years this technology will exist and be widely available. It won’t just be in the research phase. It looks like it will give many people self esteem, allow them to get out and be more comfortable dating. However, some may find that so many years of holing up and living a hermetic life will be a hard cycle to break even if they appear different on the outside, they might actually be confused about how to deal with the change. For those, psychological therapy will also be needed. Hope that helps.

Ceramic fuel cells CFU company in Australia, will they be a good investment in the future. They have just invented something that cheaper and carbon emission free electricity.
Thanks for the tip re Minara and Oz minerals can you see them going bust as Ive lost so much money already with them and other shares that I’d only sell now if they have the potential to go bust.

I’ll ask the tarot if Minara will go bust first:

Gee. It looked pretty great when you invested, huh? Actually the company looks like it was doing well and its fortune was about to change for the better. I asked if it would go out of business in the next 5 years, the answer. Yes. But you may find it will go up before it burns out. So I’ll ask if it will go out of business in the next year.

No. It’s not going to go out of business within the next year. I would wait awhile to sell this and when you get back to where you started, maybe a little over, sell it then. It will go under but will have a period where it does better before it implodes.

And now Oz Minerals: Will it go bust in the next 2 years?

It looks like Oz will be acquired by another company. This will stabilize them and make them more financially stable, but they will no longer be Oz Minerals. I’m not sure what that means for your stock in Oz. Hope that helps.

Your comment on the Toronto Stock Exchange TSX would be great for all us Canadians.http://www.tsx.com. Thanks much!

Hi Steve,

I couldn’t find a start date for the TSX after doing a google search and because my astrological database is made by a US company it is not listed. But I do have the chart of Canada itself and can read the market a bit through that. Although it won’t be quite as precise. If you can find the start date of TSX please post it and I’ll run a chart.

Saturn is going through Canada’s 12th house of loss squaring Venus in the 9th (foreign matters) which rules the 8th of investing. In layman’s terms, your stock market is going to be tangled up in our mess. We are going to cause you guys some serious trouble. I’m not going to go into all the astrology but your stock market is also going to have major losses. But it seems it will be a little while before your domestic issues get addressed in a real, transformative way, not until January 2011. It may also be when there is serious anger, job loss and civil unrest. This maybe when you guys really feel the economic depression or recession depending on how your government plays this.

Being an American I am woefully ignorant of the workings of your government other than the parliamentary system you employ and I think you have elections every 5 years? Sad. I know. Our educational system is US-focused. I did a quick peek on Wikipedia trying to find that out, but I couldn’t tell when your next election will be. It could be that this aspect will mean a complete shift in the power structure, so the conservatives will be out and a liberal government will take its place. That would be perhaps the best potential outcome of the aspect. It could also be a lot darker. But lets cross that bridge when its closer.

I just tried to get more info and it looks like your Prime Minister was elected in 2006 so if there is another election in 5 years it would make sense with what I’m seeing. There will be a change from conservative to liberal. This is also when your domestic issues will really be tackled.

Hi,
I was wondering if you had any insight into the Student Loan Corporations in the midst of this economic crisis and how they could be potentially effected, specifically Sally Mae. Myself, like so many others in my age group (under 30) find ourselves anchored down by huge college debt with no realistic way to pay it off or much hope to be able to aquire property due to this outstanding debt. Is there relief in sight? Either with lower interest rates or in some other manner?

Thanks so much

Sadly this problem goes back to the Reagan administration who changed a bunch of laws regarding student loans, and it wasn’t to the student’s advantage. I know this because I was in college during Reagan’s second term. Clinton tried to rectify this a bit, and actually it wasn’t until he passed some legislation that I was able to repay my student loans back after 10 years of feeling like I was carrying around an anvil on my shoulders.

Anyway back to you. And the sad fact that Republicans don’t like people being educated. Especially college, that should be reserved for their wealthy family members who if they had to really compete probably couldn’t actually get into college. (Of course this isn’t true of all wealthy people, there are great, brilliant people in all economic classes. But certainly if George W. Bush wasn’t a legacy would he have had any chance to go to Harvard or Yale? NO.)

OK, here goes. Let’s ask: Will there be any legislation in the next four years that will ease the burden of people with student loans who currently have them?

The tarot’s answer:

Yes.

There will be legislation put forward that will pass, helping those saddled with student loan debt. It will have a charitable aspect, and a contribution aspect. And there will be some people violently opposed to helping out the non-wealthy college educated (fancy that). It looks like some sort of community service, or using your education to advance areas the nation will be interested in expanding, teaching and or serving in the military will be options to getting debt erased. It seems there will be some kind of program put in place to try to utilize people’s specialties to enhance the country’s standing in the world, to move the nation forward, and actually it looks like this program will be good for the country, and the individuals involved in it.

One caveat, it won’t be easy. Going into this program will take up time, make some people feel as if they’re stuck for awhile and be very competitive. But it will solve a lot of people’s student loan debt problems.

Best wishes to all and good luck!
