A Word…

I haven’t written much lately for a number of reasons. One being I’ve been very busy. Two being there’s too much going on in the world and will continue to be so that reporting it before it happens seems like it will just cause a sense of paranoia and hopelessness. Unless I feel there is information which people can act on to change the future of something, I will remain silent.

I also don’t have an interest in doing personal readings right now because it’s too easy for me to become overwhelmed and worried about people. If anyone desires protection please use the Lesser Pentagram Ritual on a daily basis and know that I have asked my guides to help anyone looking here for protection so even if I don’t respond to you, it doesn’t matter, just reaching out and plugging into the energy of the Universe through whatever means you feel comfortable doing is most important. We all have our own path to God and I encourage everyone to find their own path as this is the way to enlightenment. No one can teach you, no one knows better than your own soul how to connect to the Great Spirit than you do. You are a unique soul – a collection of unique experiences, unique spiritual energy and physical experiences that are both at one  and are entirely special to you.

Meditation is the first place to start and once you have found a meditation system that works for you keep at it. My only caveat is to always remember that psychic protection in this polluted world is of the utmost importance and should never be disregarded no matter what tradition you choice to follow. There are some traditions that will tell you psychic protection isn’t necessary, but I have seen first hand a disturbingly high percentage of negative events happening to people who open themselves up in these traditions when all they have to do is add some simple protection. Perhaps when some of these traditions were invented the world was a smaller and more tribal place and not so disjointed and predatory.

It’s important to realize that if you raise your level of consciousness, you will also attract people who are as dark as you are light and will try to hurt you because they will see your loving nature as weakness to be preyed upon. One can be a spiritual warrior, both strong and loving. Gentle with those who deserve it and able to fight for those less fortunate or for oneself without feelings of guilt.

I think this is the primary mistake of many spiritual systems that they have separated enlightenment with survival. Allowing oneself to be a victim doesn’t make one a great martyr, but it is often a period we must pass through in our spiritual evolution as tests can and will come to those with spiritual power.

Let me be clear I do not advocate the use of spiritual power for malice under any circumstances – but this is an issue that most people will never have to really face. I also do not advocate using spiritual power to gain specific material gain in this world (such as in The Secret or other such “New Age” sorts of books.)

I believe one is here to learn and grow and one must surrender to the power of the Great Spirit and the greater good and flow of the Universe. That being said I do believe the Great Spirit can endow people with gifts that are meant to be used and when one follows their heart (this is where the Great Spirit contacts us most easily) our path is full of fulfillment. It isn’t always easy, it doesn’t necessarily bring us great wealth or fame, but it provides us with everything we need and the opportunity to be our best self.

BTW being rich and famous isn’t being our best self and some of the most miserable people on this planet live in the bubble of wealth and fame – they have everything they could ever want or need but no empathy or understanding. This is why over the years as Oprah embraced more and more New Age gurus and now on her network has a “master class” which I find completely offensive, as if because someone has been lucky enough to make some money or was at the right place at the right time and had half a brain as to how to utilize these opportunities they are somehow a “master.” A master of what? Everyone can’t be rich like Oprah, otherwise she’d be the norm thereby making her average.

Life isn’t this fantasy although many people would have us believe it is. The fantasy that if we just think something hard enough it will come true or worse if something bad happens somehow we deserve it. These very complex lines of fate, genetics, place, position, education and luck are not just the result of a single person pulling themselves alone by their own bootstraps and continuing to hold them up by themselves.

In days of old people were well aware of this, but as our culture has become increasingly narcissistic and the need to turn celebrities into demigods has inverted the truth, that no man is an island, and without a very complex social fabric and the right opportunities, breaks and the luck of having been born with talent and/or intelligence what appears to be a singular accomplishment made by one exceptional individual, is actually an accomplishment grown from a community of supportive people and helpful friends, good advice and the luck of assembling a great team of people to help the one front person and or beneficiary of many people’s sacrifice and hard work. It’s not just a magic sentence written on a piece of paper and repeated until one “believes in himself” enough to become a billionaire. Yes, having confidence does help, but it’s just the start of the chain not the chain itself.

Until I have something helpful to say I will keep my Lynx medicine to myself. For now I advise everyone to enjoy their family and friends, get their spiritual house in order and try not to get caught up in the prevailing anxiety that is ever-present. If I have any advice I feel will help people to make a better decision I will share it otherwise predicting things that one had no control over is simply anxiety producing and pointless.

Many blessings to all,

Denise

An Interesting Question about the Universe from a Reader…

Here’s the question from a fellow reader who e-mailed this to me:

Here goes, if I can express my question lucidly:
Most of physical matter appears to be contained within something else. For example, protons and electrons are contained within atoms, and atoms are a part of all matter. All organisms found on this planet are contained on this planet which itself is contained within the solar system which in turn is contained within a galaxy which is considered a part of the universe which is thought to be INFINITE. So, going with this theme, in what is the UNIVERSE contained? If it is contained in something bigger than itself, then the universe is FINITE. If our UNIVERSE is contained in something else, then is that SOMETHING ELSE contained within something else, and so on and so on?
Is this a different paradigm for analyzing our ‘UNIVERSE’ around us or Am I Just Being Silly?!! 🙂
Here’s my answer:
There are some interesting new theories about this very question and some answers have come from String Theory. I’ll try to do a descent job of explaining what I’ve read on the subject and of course it will be in layman’s language and hopefully I won’t butcher any of the ideas too badly, so here goes. The first thing about string theory is the ideas in it are complicated and require something like at least 11 parallel dimensions in order for the theory to even work. The string part of string theory is derived from the notion that beyond the smallest known particles like quarks (which behave very unusually and in many ways prove some esoteric ideas, but that’s another story) are the tiniest of the tiniest bits that make up all known things. And once clumped together into something they take on certain characteristics. These strings are ubber tiny strings that vibrate and it is through their vibration that they attract other like strings and make stuff. I love this idea as the universe would literally be made up of inaudible music created from the tiny strings. So these strings vibrate at a certain pitch and collect to make different sorts of bigger compounds.
But the most interesting part of String Theory is the question that it set out to answer which was the notion of how did the Big Bang happen? Or what came before the Big Bang? And something to note here is that the Big Bang is a more complicated idea than most of us are taught, here’s a brief synopsis. All of a sudden space-time blasted into being, it started out very hot and very close together and has been pushing out since then. The part that we often misunderstand is the notion of space-time which is a complicated idea. Literally everything that exits in the Universe, all of time and space was created in that one moment which came from nothing. That’s a pretty heavy and strange idea.
Now the beautiful thing about String Theory, and in my opinion where it dovetails with the metaphors of all religions and the notion of “as above so below,” is the idea that what created the Big Bang was a bunch of universes all sort of floating around in what is now called a multiverse and two of these universes happened to collide into one another thus creating our universe (sort of like sex or the idea of the Goddess and the God or in esoteric Judaic and Christian traditions, the notion of God and his female soul Sophia or the feminine side of God co-creating the Universe).  Of course one then asks where did this multiverse come from and so on which is the appeal of the easy answer/creationism/intelligent design.
Here’s the thing from my own personal experience that leads me to believe String Theory is about as close as we’ve in come, in science, to the truth. When I was 12 my back was fractured and I had a herniated disc. I was put on bed rest for about 7 months. My father was dead by this time and my mother worked, so I spent 95% of my days alone. Besides watching Oprah on my little black and white TV there wasn’t much to do so I spent a lot of time, reading, thinking and meditating. A lot of my meditation was spent on God and how the Universe came to be as I was always psychic and very fascinated by this question. I had started my search for answers at about 9 when I began reading astronomy textbooks to learn about what made up the universe and peer into any clue I could find about how it worked. I found a lot of information about dwarf stars, black holes (which were still theoretical at the time) and approximations of how many stars were in our galaxy (about 300,000) but not much about how the universe came to be which I found very frustrating. I then searched through my  occult books, the bible, mythology, etc.
Again nothing satisfied so I thought about it and spent many days and nights meditating on the question until I came to the knowing that the Universe was like a circle within a circle within a circle. There was no end and no beginning, these circles went on for infinity in every direction. There was no end to how many parallel dimensions as that was infinite as well. Perhaps the greatest epiphany was that God was always and forever, meaning God had no beginning and no end. God was also not a “designer” but an energy source present in everything and everyone and there was no true beginning of time or matter, it just transformed as we did when we die. Hence we as human beings are both finite and infinite as our souls are eternal and part of God’s energy and our bodies are part of the earth which has a finite beginning, middle and end as do all physical things. The energy that makes them is infinite and forever but they have a finite period of time to “live” and develop until the next set of lessons and/or individuation process unfolds.
Of course this brings up the notion of why God would want or need to expand Him/Herself. The answer I came up with was to experience Him/Herself and allow each piece of Him/Herself to individuate and ascend infinitely, reuniting with the Self/God after a period of expansion and learning. This theory would of course mean we reincarnate for as long as we want and perhaps in some cases for as long as we need to.
I hope this makes some sense and is not to confusing.
This is why ancient religions stated “All Gods are One,” and the spiritual seeker is to always see the God/Goddess in everyone he or she meets (-Namaste). This is sometimes hard when dealing with people who are asleep spiritually or run their lives as if they are worker drones or zombies. Those who have yet to awaken to the power and truth of our collective Oneness. Or what some call “conservatives.” I’m not going to go on about the health care zombies right now who basically argue that they have theirs so f everyone else. This is a sad state we are in and one I’ve thought a lot about lately. Is it that there are too many of us on the planet and there are the same percentages of selfish people? Or is it that we are so many we are starting to act like too many rats stuck in the same cage? Even simple courtesy seems to have dissolved into the whole “me first” way of our current world. Not only is this sad on a spiritual level and hurtful to our emotional and psychic development, but it also freaks me out because it makes me think we are calling down the worst possible fate by our behavior and sadly we are all going to have to suffer under it whether or not we partake of this intensely rude and mean spirited selfishness. We are all linked and we will all have to answer to the loud mouths who would rather let a stranger starve on the street than help them. I have to admit that my natural inclination toward feeling most human beings were ultimately good has been replaced by the feeling that there is a range of goodness and most people are heavy into the middle section of gray. I know there are many good, great loving people in the world, it’s just that their voices are often softer then those who are rude and mean spirited, this has always been the case. I wish there was some way to change it.
Many blessings,
Denise

Insanity, Neglect & The New Age

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a chance to blog. Does anyone out there have a nutball in the family? I mean like an alcoholic, or a narcissist or someone with borderline personality disorder? It’s not very fun dealing with them. Not easy. They have a tendency to absorb all your time and energy by creating drama and making everyone in the family feel bad while turning themselves into a martyr. I’m sure most of you can relate. We all have someone who we have to deal with who fits this general description. I’m pretty sure that part of what fine tunes psychic ability is growing up with a crazy parent. It’s a heightened form of instinct, self-preservation. What will crazy do today? Be nice or kick me out of the house?

Every psychic I’ve ever known came from a seriously messed up family. I suppose being psychic is the consolation prize for dealing with insanity during childhood. Personally I would have prefered a normal family to “the gift.” But then we don’t get to choose sometimes, or perhaps I did choose before I could remember (on the other side).

Which brings me to a few points I’d like to make about how western people have assimilated the notion of Karma and Darma. We seem to have used it as a substitute for the old fashioned “God is punishing me,” or “I must be doing something right,” ideas. It’s become a New Age way of blaming the victim. I’m not sure if anyone saw the Oprah show about the girl who was so neglected that she was still in a diaper and weighed 30 pounds at the age of 6. She couldn’t feed herself, had lice and cockroach bites all over her and slept on a mildewed piece of foam. She couldn’t walk or talk and was still being fed from a bottle. She was cognitively still a baby from the severe neglect. Her name was Danielle and when her mother was asked in an interview about the girl she said, “All I’m guilty of is, is not keeping a clean house.” Then she started crying and said, “I love that baby.” And then when the interviewer asked the woman if she regretted anything (this was after the mother had been informed of the severe retardation she had caused the girl due to her neglect) she answered, “Moving to Florida.” Because Florida authorities were the ones who busted her and took Danielle away from her. This woman went out drinking constantly, left her child in the care of her two mentally retarded brothers and said to authorities, “I’m doing the best that I can.”

I was very disturbed by this story for so many reasons. The little girl was permanently damaged by this neglect. Although she was adopted by some kind people, her life was stolen by her sick mother. Children who suffer neglect feel invisible and those who suffer from any and all abuse feel its their own fault. This is a defense mechanisim. It’s actually easier to (as a child) believe you are the problem than your parent is, because you are completely dependant on them and the only thing you have control over is yourself, therefore if you’re a bad kid then you can change your behavior and magically your sick parent will become kind and loving. Of course this isn’t true but it is the fantasy all abused and neglected children have about their sick parent or sick parents.

Stay with me here I want to tie this mentality to many New Age beliefs. Louis L. Hay wrote a book in the late 1980s that broke down each illness and told you what was emotionally causing it, like you have back troubles, you are feeling unsupported. While I can see the value in how certain types of stress contribute to our physical problems, sometimes its really not our fault and we do not have control no matter how much we wish we did. Sometimes a person gets back trouble because they get hit by a drunk driver, or they fall down the stairs. Or they have a genetic disease. I have trouble with many of the New Age beliefs that don’t allow for chaos and the dark side of human nature. Many New Age beliefs hinge on a love and light philosophy where everything is decided by our souls before we incarnate and there are no victims and all is for the good of our development. Bull shit.

Pure and simple bull shit. There are people who throw monkey wrenches into our plans, there are people who do not live up to their side of a bargain and there are children born to psychopaths who treat them like potted plants and who steal their development and life away. How can this sort of serious abuse and neglect of a child be anything but the fault of the crazy person who could do that to a child and still believe they “love,” them. Why would any soul choose to incarnate into a situation like what Danielle had to suffer and what could she possibly have learned from it? She will spend the rest of her life with the cognitive skills of an 18 month old and when her foster parents die, she’ll end up in an institution. Does anyone deserve that? And if they do then why would Danielle have been rescued and what gives that mother the right to be so cruel?

The tangle of moral questions are too great to be answered with simple New Age platitudes or really any spiritual ideas because these are depraved acts done in the service of the darkest sides of their nature without thought or care of anyone but themselves. These people operate in the darkness of the unconsccious playing out their shadow selves while being completely unaware and unable to experience love or empathy. This mother clearly had some sort of personality disorder. She was completely unable to have empathy for anyone, even her own child.

Which leads to the question of what causes this incredible lack of empathy among people with certain personality disorders? Is it chemical, genetic or enviornmental or do they bring into this life some sort of spiritual lack that makes them incapable of caring for anyone else. These people often have deep feelings for themselves and see themselves as victims with elaborate justifications for their actions. They can turn their own evil deed into the passing stranger’s fault in a split second. They live like Plato’s cave people, in an eternal darkness projecting their emotional troubles onto others without ever seeing themselves or how they are hurting others. They never take responsibility or say they are sorry for anything as they see themselves as godlike, above all others, their emotions being the only ones that count. These are the people that bring chaos to our world, who cause wars, who are destroyers. They balance those among us who go out of our way to help others. They are the entropy to our growth. There must be a purpose for them, but I still haven’t figured out what it is yet.

Many blessing to all you kind and good people,

Denise

IQ, Starchild Skull & 8+) & Twit(ter)

Chris mentioned that if you type 8 + ) you get that smiley face dude, but I had no reason to do that and did not. Also my computer, the new one, is still doing the crazy type thing where it blows itself up for no reason while I’m writing. This happens to the point of the type becoming so large and illegible that I have to demagnify it. It’s odd, the lights are flickering right now, the DVD turns itself on and off all night. My daughter had the worst nightmare of her life, it took almost 2 hours to calm her down. Something is going on. I remember being a little kid and having so much scary crazy psychic phenomena happen it was ridiculous. The TV would turn itself off and on all day long, the garage door would go up and down, the radio dial in the car and at home would turn itself from station to station, this was when there were big giant knobs and stuff, light bulbs would blow out all the time, I’d go to tape something (with those early giant home tape recorders) and there would be creepy voices when I played back the tape. And that was before it got really bad. I hope my kid doesn’t have to deal with that. It was terrifying! I couldn’t sleep at night, it’s a long story I’ll dole out. I didn’t think being psychic was a gift at all, just a horrible curse. I really didn’t have a choice but learn to control it or I’d be calling the Ghost Hunters from an insane asylum. Seriously, not fun.

Wei: Thanks for the tip about the “test” regarding the Starchild Skull. It sounds interesting.

The weather here in LA has been so insane. It was in the triple digits one day and then in the 60s the next, windy and dry to overcast and humid. It triggered the migraine problem which is why I was absent for a couple of days on the blog. I’m a human barometer. I have one other friend with this problem and when both of us get migraine symptoms we know its going to rain. Thank God I don’t live in Chicago anymore, I’d always be sick.

IQ is interesting and I have read that men score higher on those tests than women. But this could be because the male brain is structured to be able to completely focus on something to the exclusion of all other things which is why they often can’t multi-task. Women are also genius’s when it comes to picking up subtle cues on people’s faces and can read very complex emotions quickly, have more color cones in their eyes and generally have trouble with spatial relationships. Perhaps this is why women don’t score as high, the things tested for on IQ tests are generally more male brain orientated and perhaps why people with Asberger’s do well on IQ tests. They have what some scientists have called extremely male brains.

A man invented the IQ test so it has the bias of what he thought mattered in intelligence. I’m not complaining, I have always done well on those tests but I have often thought them inadequate at truly getting to the root of intelligence in a comprehensive way. And depending on how the test is structured (if it is biased toward “general knowledge,” or logic or whatever) a person’s score can vary quite a bit. Believe it or not (and this is ironic since I’m a psychic) I always score highest in logic by miles. If you just tested me on logic alone my IQ is kind of outrageous, but throw in some general knowledge about who won the world cup or something I could care less about and I will not do as well (also I missed a lot of school, I mean a lot, actually an entire year once due to health problems as a kid.) I think that the more an IQ test relies on general knowledge the less it has to do with intrinsic intellegence or the ability to discern patterns, use logic to figure out things and extrapolate answers. In my opinion those tests are culturally biased and the better educated a person is, the better their score will be. In my opinion that sort of test is not only flawed but relatively worthless in a world where a person can google anything and get an immediate answer. I read an article in Discover magazine about the mind no longer being located just in the brain, that the access to information is so prevalant a person no longer needs to store everything and memorize it thereby leaving room for the brain to process things in new ways. As we develop and evolve, we might find that memory becomes less and less important in our evaluation of intelligence as information is codified in everything around us and serves little purpose taking up space in our gray matter.  It maybe more important to utilize precious brain space with remembering where to access any and all information and how to use systems rather than memorizing the Gettysburg Address.

OK and my rant for the night. What the hell is the point of twitter? So you can read the boring things people are randomly thinking about completely out of any context? I know model/actor/producer Ashton Kutcher somehow convinced Oprah that it was AWESOME. But come on. It’s ridiculous. I don’t want to know what someone ate for lunch. I don’t want to know what someone wished they ate for lunch. Can’t we have some privacy anymore? This is the last and final blow to the mental boundary of intellectual privacy. Plus it’s just dang boring. Please? Am I just not getting it? Or is this the emperor walking down the street with no clothes on and everyone’s just taking pictures on their iPhone of his cool new outfit?

Enough of my blabbing. I’m sleep bound.

Talk to you all tomorrow and many blessings to all you good people,

Denise

Oh and someone asked about the Swine Flu. I’m a bit worried about it intellectually, but I haven’t had any psychic feeling that it was going to go hog wild. Ok, terrible pun, something my husband would do but come on with a name like Swine Flu…
