I don’t like to talk too much about some of the nutty side of being psychic. But I have felt compelled to talk about the UFO phenomena lately. As it turns out I had seen an orb – a silver completely spherical round object in August on the way to Target with my family. At first I thought it might be a weather balloon but it seemed really big to be a weather balloon and clearly wasn’t an airplane (we’re pretty close to an airport). As I watched it did a strange move and then dropped faster than anything I’ve seen and disappeared. While it isn’t the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me nor is it the first time I’ve seen what would be considered a UFO – it’s been a while and happened after my strange feelings about the phenomena. I did some research on the MUFON site and saw that there were twice as many UFO sightings in August as any other month – over a thousand. And a huge increase in 2008 and 2009, there was a slight dip in 2010 and now there seems to be another wave as 2011 is not over and is coming close to 2008-9 numbers.

Another odd thing was we were called by a relative who was in the middle of sighting a UFO the other night. This person was quite freaked out and my husband and I listened as it occurred. The description was of a sphere (it was night) a brilliant light from it and then it turned into two, three and finally a fourth. This person than saw a brilliant green light illuminating a nearby home, it dimmed, then got brighter and then turned orange and went out. Very odd. There was real fear in this person’s voice which is why they called us – they were alone with their partner and afraid something might happen to them. They are an older couple, not young kids and both very normal, reliable, intelligent, down to earth, regular people. (They aren’t related to me by blood – as you probably guessed by the listed description.)

OK, the next spiritual lesson is mediation on the owl. The owl is a messenger from the part of oneself that is at one with the Great Spirit and the conscious mind. It is one pathway to clairvoyance and clairaudience – so for those interested in deepening their psychic ability, study these birds. Ask for their guidance and try to get them to teach you their secrets in dreams. If you don’t find they come to you, that’s fine. There are many paths. I do think however that Owls are so pervasive right now and there is usually a reason for it – plus they are associated with learning, wisdom, Athena and although they can have scary implications in some cultures it is much like the expression: Don’t blame the messenger. It’s not them who have anything to do with negativity – they often come to warn of unseen turns in the road which can often feel negative.

The next post will deal with many of your questions. My power supply is broken so I can’t blog long enough to get in there right now and go for it but I’m going to the store tomorrow so I plan on making tomorrow night a chance to answer everyone who has written in.

Many blessings,

The Owl and Ceres… Sorry it’s been so long…

I wanted to address the reader who had the experience with the owl. I would read that experience as very much a symbolic one. I have had a lot of run ins with owls and that just doesn’t happen by accident. They are very secretive creatures and many people never see one their entire life except for in a zoo setting. They symbolize clairvoyance, clairaudience and are generally a warning to trust your intuition, this is why they have often been associated with negative things since usually your intuition protects you from not such great things. In your case the fact that the owl knocked itself out and then turned its neck around and stared at you well… OK, that’s also something to look at. It was also 4AM, the dead of night. The reader wasn’t sure if the animal was OK at first. Let’s deconstruct this.

The owl is a messenger bird. It generally carries messages of things unseen, hidden. Owls have freakishly amazing vision. They are actually related to hawks and their vision is even better since they need virtually no light to see as well as a hawk. They can find a field mouse from above a tree line in the dead of night. So they can find just about anything through their careful examination.

However, in this case the owl had an accident and was distracted, hit a wall, fell and hurt itself. I would say to this reader that perhaps there are things going on around you right now that you are not paying attention to, signs that you are ignoring that will eventually knock you senseless. The owl turned its head and stared directly at you. This was a message for you. I would advise you to stop being distracted and pay attention to your immediate circumstances, there is something awry and you are being warned that if you don’t deal with this you will injure yourself in the process. Perhaps, you have been being too detached, perhaps you have a knowing but are not listening to your own intuition due to being distracted by some other issue that is really less important in the grand scheme of your life.

Owls physically come to psychic people as messengers when we are not paying attention to our intuition!

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR INTUITION and don’t think you’re nuts or wrong, trust it like you would trust anything you would see with your own two eyes.

I also wanted to address the reader who talked about Ceres.  I’ve been thinking a great deal about Ceres and Her relationship to Virgo. Ceres is a nurturer, she is where the word cereal comes from. She rules over the staple food wheat. Every culture has a staple food, rice, wheat, corn, potatoes. In this way Ceres is an extraordinarily important  Goddess to the ancients, without her good graces, her nurturing, love and generosity they would parish. So I think Ceres isn’t just how we nurture others but how we nurture ourselves, for example I have Ceres in Gemini, writing heals me, for someone else with Ceres in Libra, painting or collecting art might be healing or with Ceres in Virgo helping others, being of service would be healing, Ceres in Cancer would mean food and cooking, rearing children would be a healing process. Of course all of these things are healing but I mean they are healing in the sense of being revitalizing and able to give the individual a sense of meaning in their life that they can not find in anything else. I think Ceres may actually be the key to finding the expression of one’s life purpose.

Also the house placement would be important. Mine is in the first house so Ceres is how I come across, as a nurturer, and also I need to be alone a lot and write as I said, to regain my balance. If one had it in the 7th, this process would come about through partnerships, and/or being involved in the profession of law. If anyone wants to give me there Ceres placement and sign I will interpret it in the next week or so and put it up for others to learn from so just leave it for me in the comment section. If you want to find out your placement go to astro.com and click on the section that reads: free horoscopes, under that you’ll find options and can input your data. Make sure to go to the extended chart selection so you can add Ceres (you’ll see where this is when you get into it) to your chart and then click. The symbol for Ceres is a sickle with a cross on the bottom when you look at your chart. Here’s the link to their site:

Owl Medicine…

I wasn’t that surprised to see the results of the owl poll. It seems that those who read this blog (the vast majority) have what Native American’s would call Owl Medicine.  It’s interesting that both in the 1970s and again for the past few years owls have become very popular. There are all sorts of representations of them in statuary, toys, fabric patterns, on journals. You name it owls are everywhere. Depending on the culture owls are either assigned an ominous place in the symbolic pantheon or more wisely seen as the messengers they truly are.
I’ve found Owl Medicine related to clairvoyance, the ability to see through things and penetrate the darkness with one’s insight. Those with Owl Medicine are often psychic and/or extremely intuitive. They have an intense gaze, deep understanding and insight into situations that others often don’t even notice. They are intimidating and uncanny, ale to see things with seemingly supernatural ability, an ability they take for granted as second nature.  And of course there is always the premonitory relationship between owls and events, they nearly always show up before something crazy happens (for those with Owl Medicine that is). They are messengers, the bird earthy version of Mercury running messengers from the abyss to us ordinary weirdos attuned to their frequency.

So HOORAY for Owls! They are wise birds for wise, preternaturally observant folks.

Best wishes,

Owl Medicine…
