Fiscal Cliff

Doing Coast to Coast brought a lot of conservative readers to this blog. I want to clarify for you that I was raised in a conservative family, in a conservative neighborhood and I am married to a man whose parents are also conservatives. When I’m talking about Republicans I am not talking about people who are the voter class – I’m talking about the leadership class. It’s my experience that people are people and when given the hard truth do the right thing no matter what label they may take on when they go into a voting booth.

I know Republican voters believe in hard work and personal responsibility – so do liberal people – the big difference is liberal/progressives believe there are some people who can’t pull themselves up by their own bootstraps not because they are lazy, but because circumstances are too great and overwhelming to do so alone. I would really encourage everyone to watch the Ken Burns documentaries on PBS about the dust bowl. The dust bowl happened in a very maverick part of the country – where people believe in personal responsibility and were and still are very hard-working and believe in contributing to society. However the scope of the problem (and seriously just look at pictures and you’ll see how enormously devastating this ecological disaster was year after year for about a decade) was just too enormous for any one family no matter how big their extended family. It was as if every other day a major hurricane or tornado devastated the region – this went on for a decade. These dust storms were miles high and would drop 3 feet of earth over everything making all farming impossible. It was so enormous that the storms actually dropped earth from Kansas and Oklahoma in Washington DC and New York City. The government stepped in to save lives – children and elderly people were dying of “dust pneumonia.” The story is almost too much to bear but I suggest people take a look at this because the parallels of the Great Depression and our situation with the Great Recession are enormous.

So for those who think I want only blessings for people of like mind that is more than insulting it’s insane. However I am equally insulted when we have Republican politicians who want to take away benefits to Veterans, raise the age of social security, take money and medicare away from the elderly and make the middle class pay an extra 2000 a year in taxes when they are struggling like never before. All so the wealthy one percent (who pay less than anyone else in taxes) can keep their tax breaks. It’s disgusting.

The SIN of AVARICE and GREED are at the heart of these ideals. These are not Christian values and they are not Spiritual values which is why I am against them – that is why I take issue with these spiritual diseases that I see as eating away at the fabric of our world. These evils have somehow (in the past 30 or so years) turned from being society’s seeing Greed as despicable  and shameful to a virtue.

Well, I want to remind everyone GREED IS NOT A VIRTUE! In no religious text and on no spiritual path is GREED considered anything but one of the roots of EVIL  And what we have seen during the Bush jr. years was a ramping up of this disease to the point where we the average American tax payers are being asked to pick up the tab for the frat party on Wall Street. Lots of people got rich scamming the middle class and the poor. And now we are being asked AGAIN to pay for IT! TWICE – seriously how is that good for anyone? Except the shameful few.

So now onto my prediction about the fiscal cliff.  Democrats will stay firm and there will be a period of inaction until Republicans are forced to go ahead with the program. Republicans will come to realize if they stick to their guns there will be civil unrest and if they keep with their ridiculous “plans” they will not just be killing their future careers, but putting the nail in the coffin of their party for years to come. Which honestly I do not want to happen.

Democracy needs a viable two party system – but Republicans are making a huge mistake playing to the one percent and then using trickery to try and cover their tracks. The cat is out of the bag now and continuing on this path is suicidal for their party. This will have a long-term effect on the political system and will put them into the position of being a very small minority party for years to come. My compliment to them presently for at least honestly showing their hand instead of hiding behind the BS “Trickle Down Economics,” stuff. At least they are clearly showing that they have no compassion for people who were either born after 1960 or born into families without an express lane to Harvard or Yale.

The biggest disgrace in my opinion is starting two wars, destroying hundreds of thousands of lives, forever injuring those who served along with their families not to mention the highest cost – all the people who had to die for what? Both our troops and all the innocent civilians caught in the crossfire of the Bush/Cheney oil grab that turned into a reckless pointless war which the Bush/Cheney administration lied us into.

All of us whether we want to admit it or not actually rely on systems to help us evolve whether that is the family system, the educational system or in the worst case scenarios people who are forced to take help from the government. No one wants to be in that position despite the propaganda of “welfare queens,” welfare has been reformed so that people can’t stay on it for any length of time. Not to mention if you have ever known anyone who has had to take government assistance (which includes social security, disability, medicare, food stamps, unemployment) they do it because they need to generally they aren’t proud of it. Many people are embarrassed about having to use food stamps, or get help of any kind.

Everyone wants to be independent and we must remember that if we are to be a “Christian Nation,” as is the herald of the Republican party, then we must actually posses those Christian values. If you have any doubts about what they are just ask yourself, “Would Jesus walk past a poor distraught person without helping him? Would Jesus want to rob the poor to give to the wealthy?” No. That’s the answer. If you are a Christian I can’t see how the current Republican plutocratic platform in any way conforms to your values. Either the Republican leadership needs to change or those who are staying loyal to a party they once believed in need to take a closer look at what is actual and factual and see if it squares with their real values. I contend it does not.

I do not think that 98% of Republican voters would vote that way if all the facts were broken down without the incendiary rhetoric that is used to make the leadership appear to be in the same camp as the good people who vote for them.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Yule and anything and every other holiday I am forgetting or don’t know about – Have a great holiday season.

Many blessing to all,

Denise

Prediction for 2012 Election

OK, I did a screen shot of the prediction I made December 6, 2011 – which was a year and a half ago when Newt Gingrich was leading in the polls by 40% and was the supposed shoe in. I’m re-posting it due to its prescient nature.

Here is the other thing I have meant to post since Ryan was named as VP was this same voice told me Ryan was the nail in Romney’s coffin. His fate has been sealed.

Interesting how ridiculous and unsubstantial the RNC convention was especially in comparison to the DNC one now unfolding which I had privately predicted, but didn’t bother to post. And let’s not forget hurricane Isaac which if the tables were turned would have been labeled God’s wrath by the Evangelicals Republican leaders. You know those types the ones who claimed AIDS was God’s wrath against gay people. Turns out AIDS doesn’t just happen to gay people and if God does have a wrath it surely will catch up to the idiots who said crap like that.

I will gather and post all the mean-spirited Republican comments that have been made on this site because it only shows what these “Christian” people are made of – the word is HATE. As far as I know hate isn’t a Christian value except in Republican circles and among crazed religious zealots who stone others to death or blow themselves up in the name of their God.

If someone does engage in hatefulness no matter what form – most especially if  that hate is utilized to hurt or destroy others – than without a doubt, ABSOLUTELY they are going against the WILL OF GOD. And they are perverting religion (no matter what kind) to fit a political agenda in order to suppress other human beings who BTW God also made. You may wish God to be on your side, but God is only on the side of the pure of heart and those who move His/Her children forward toward love, community, humility and peace. Fear, anger, hatred, suppression are all hallmarks of the opposite of a holy or God inspired or religious/spiritual person.

If you choose the darkness than expect it to overwhelm you, expect to be sucked down further and further until you can’t tell anymore that you are even drowning in it – until your very soul is strangled and you cease to exist. I don’t believe in hell, but I do believe evil is soul-destroying. And I mean that very literally.

Or the opposite is true, the more love and empathy you engage in, the more you grow your spirit – the more you learn – the closer you become to God. It’s your choice – about the only choice you really have. This is the meaning of free will.

So here’s a screen grab so you can see the date it was posted:

Brown Question & Obama…

I’m sorry I missed the opportunity to break the bad news to everyone about the Republican win. I haven’t wanted to address politics lately due to my feelings that Obama is in jeopardy of being seen in the light Jimmy Carter was. Here is an erudite, brilliant, compassionate, articulate, idealistic man who is talking to a group of schoolyard bullies (the Republicans) as if they have what most of us in the middle and on the left have – reason. Here’s the thing – it’s basic. It’s not just the glue of greed that binds Republicans together its the overuse of the reptilian part of their brain. They don’t live lives of reflection, but rather go forward into the world, unthinking, to dominate and take their place in the tribal pecking order (I could use a more derisive term like pack but I’ll stick with tribe).

Even before Obama became president I always worried that his cool, reasoned approach would be seen as weak among those who look to a leader to be a charismatic Ogre (or alcoholic father as the model went for Bush). When leading a group of people who don’t want to think, one has to do the thinking for them, one can not engage them in public discourse. They don’t want public discourse. They truly want to be bossed around, sent to bed without their dinner and derided for not doing what Big Daddy President said.

Until Obama realizes what he’s dealing with on the right – that he will never be able to engage them in an intellectual discussion of the issues or have an interesting debate and accept the fact that they need to be led like an alpha wolf leads a pack, then we are going to have serious trouble in the ranks. And really we will be in a major stale mate. Unfortunately for Obama those who are rational, sensitive, intelligent want to be engaged in the way he engages and like feeling we have a president and not a dictator.

My advise to him would be to appeal to his base with his usual calm reasoned intellect and keep the wolves in place with some good hard core training. I think he’s starting to get this. I just wish he would have gotten this a lot earlier. I think Hillary being in public life for so long knew this from the beginning which probably would have made her a much more effective leader early on – however when women are Alphas they are known as bitches. And it would seem that in our society sexism still trumps racism. We at least think about racism, I don’t believe we even question the ingrained sexist notions we have.

Sorry I couldn’t get to the question earlier…

Many blessings and I’ll post Karma part 2 soon.

Brown Question & Obama…

Mancow Walking the Talk…

I just wanted to say I really appreciate anyone who is willing to walk their talk. Mancow a drive time radio DJ on Chicago’s WLS radio station took up the mantel of Sean Hannity’s promise to be water boarded for charity.

After 6 seconds he called it off and admitted it was indeed torture.

I just want to congratulate him on his courage for both going through the experience and also for being honest about his experience.

I have nothing but the greatest respect for anyone who speaks the truth from their experience, whatever it might be. In this case it took a lot of courage, and bravery to try out a torture technique to see if indeed it was torture.

Kudos to Mancow. He mentioned having heart palpitations even days after the experience. I wish him well and feel very bad that he had such an awful experience.

He said on Keith Olbermann’s show that the 6 seconds didn’t look like a big deal, but actually he’s wrong about that. It looks absolutely terrifying and like what it is, torture. He not only had his eyes covered but also water being forced up his nose and down his mouth simultaneously while lying back. This would give you not only the sensation that you were dying, but also you had absolutely no control if you were being forced to lay back like that.

It looked very scary.

So, again thank you to him for showing this benign sounding form of torture for what it is. It sounds less scary than the old fashioned Chinese water torture which was basically having water dripped on your forehead for an extended period of time. That sounds more annoying than torturous. I think there should be a new descriptor for “water boarding,” it should be called death simulation via water drowning or something horrifying like that.

Best wishes and many blessings,

Denise

Correction…

I should have googled Rush’s Alma madder. I meant to and forgot as I wrote the post over several days. Rush I guess wasn’t smart enough to go to an Ivy League school went to SE Missouri. And I can’t substantiate he was rich growing up. I only heard that on MSNBC and on Real Time with Bill Maher, but I do actually have a friend who was flown on his private jet and did actually sit in his mansion on the ocean with Clarence Thomas and many others.

I know you’re like, Denise, but we thought you hated conservative people.

No. I just don’t like Rush Limbaugh. He’s an obnoxious jack ass.

For the record as long as a person is kind and decent I don’t care how they identify themselves, what their color, race, religion or political party.

Correction…

Age Of Aquarius

I find it interesting that the fabric of the right has unraveled to reveal the mummies they are. The current spokesman Rush Limbaugh – a man who has to fake girlfriends because he is so reviled by the opposite sex. A man who claims to be of the people, spewing venom at the supposed “elite,” yet he is perhaps in the highest echelon of the elite. He not only makes a reported 400 million dollars a year, lives in a palace, has a private jet, grew up in a rich family and went to one of those “elite” Ivy League colleges, he hangs out with the most wealthy and powerful people in the Republican party. He doesn’t sound much like Joe the plumber. Yet he has managed with his forked tongue to manipulate the ignorant masses who somehow believe he gets where they are coming from.

No. He’s a manipulative douche bag who taps into the xenophobia, homophobia and racism of isolated people who are mostly uneducated and frightened by the things they see on TV. It’s not that these people are bad or stupid, it’s just they long for some Mayberry past that never existed, and romanticize/glamorous the wealthy as if they are demigods who have no problems and somehow deserve their special place and privilege.

Does anyone actually believe that Rush Limbaugh works harder than any other person owning their own business? Of course he doesn’t. Even if he did nothing but work eighteen hours a day 7 days a week is his contribution to our world worth $400,000,000 dollars a year? Uhm, let’s see. Big NO. His “contribution” isn’t worth 2 cents. He’s an agent of his own agenda seeking to brainwash the masses into what FDR called a “royalist” mindset or what I call a “feudal” one. I suppose he gets the big bucks because he’s pretty good at confusing the average person into thinking he’s actually doing them a favor. The everyday people who listen to Limbaugh want there to be strict black and white rules about everything and desire easy answers so they might avoid the messy truth and the difficult work of introspection, compassion and wisdom. But the problem with the Universe is it is complex, multi-layered, morally complicated and requires constant introspection for true growth to occur.

Leading and following seem to be built into the primitive part of our brains (the monkey part where Alpha and Omega primate pecking order live) which is why the 60s movement promoting the questioning of authority and individuality wasn’t as much of a success as it should have been. It’s also why Christ, who came along to teach the Jews they had the wrong idea about God, to teach God was loving, compassionate and didn’t want human beings to judging each other, was misconstrued into a strange uncomfortable mix between the old and new testament God which makes so little sense anymore it borders on absurd.

Until we can act like rational evolved beings we will have war, poverty, ignorance, greed and prejudice.

In the new era we are facing, only those who can weigh information and take leaps in their thought processes will be able to survive the changes we are about to encounter. Following won’t do. We are as the old 60s song said, “at the dawning of the age of Aquarius,” and it will be imperative to our personal survival to understand the bigger picture, how we personally fit in and how we can change things for the better.

Best wishes and many blessings to all you good kind evolved souls,

Denise

The Mathmatical Formula that Shattered the Global Economy

http://www.wired.com/techbiz/it/magazine/17-03/wp_quant?currentPage=all
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copula_(statistics)

Above are some links to the math that has brought our world to its knees. And to think I used to fall asleep in junior high school algebra.

Perhaps you, like me, heard reference to this formula on NPR or various other news outlets. After looking at it, I wonder if any of the bankers had even the slightest clue about it, let alone applying it to anything tangible.

So here’s my lame math formula. All based on the simple geometry:

picture-7

The one guy gets more than a third (33.4 %) of the whole pie while the 9 people share almost a third (28%). So lets be clear here, 10% of wealthy Americans control 61.4% of all the wealth. And just 1% of the wealthy control more than a third. while 40% of Americans make it sharing just over a third of the wealth at 38.6 %. And the rest, half of the country, 50% of us live in abject poverty.

This was before the market crash. I’m sure there are more people who have fallen into the abject poverty pile since then.

I have a simple question to ask to those who subscribe to unbridled free market capitalism and the notion of those who work hardest are rewarded with the most money. Firstly, that one guy controlling more than a third of the pie, does he really work harder than the equivalent of 150,000,000 Americans put together. Because man if he does, he’d have to be God as working that many hours would mean he not only never slept, but also had an army of clones.

And if one wants to make the argument that somehow that guy has provided some service or great work that entitles him/her to more pie than they could ever eat in one lifetime while half the people around them starve, I ask, did that person cure cancer, Aids and save our planet from a deluge of asteroids? Because there is nothing that anyone who has such ungodly amounts of money has done that warrants the pie being that lopsided.

Take for example Bill Gates. He stole the idea for Windows from two inventors who stole the idea for the operating system from the way Macs worked. Gates literally bought their program for something like 500 bucks and then turned around and sold it to IBM for millions or billions, whatever. Did (or does) he deserve to control that much of the world’s resources because he was an unethical opportunist? Or even someone like Jim Carey, does he deserve 20 million dollars to make fart jokes in some lame half-baked movie? Does anyone really deserve to hog more resources than they can actually make use of?

And what does it say about people who choose this for themselves. I’m not saying people don’t have a right to be wealthy, be comfortable, and even be decadent and live uxorious ridiculously comfortable lives. But one doesn’t have to control that much of the wealth to do so. As a matter of fact if the pie was at least a little more evenly distributed, more people would have more and be more productive.

For example if everyone had enough money, to at least make their own pie, then there would be a constant flow of money, goods, services and new wealth for everyone to partake in. It would be exponential rather than a closed, fixed system where the poorest 50 percent cannot participate in the economy because they can barely afford the basic necessities of life.

Historically, our country has always done best financially when there was a strong, healthy middle class, like in the 1950s when a guy could work at a gas station as an attendant, buy his own home and support a wife and two kids. Or during the Clinton era when there was a huge boom in the middle class and new service orientated and luxury businesses sprung up due to the increased flow of money being funneled into the economy.

So why is it that Republicans hang onto this bizarre Ann Ryand philosophy of unhinged free market capitalism without restraint or regulation and the idea of the individual as purely and solely responsible for him/herself?

Well, let’s take a look at Ann Ryand. First off she was from Russia and had a knee jerk reaction to having grown up there. She was also a screenwriter and no offense here, but part of being a Hollywood screenwriter is being able to boil things down to very simple black and white arguments and ideas. There is no room for subtlety, complexity, and depth of character and layers of meaning in a 90-minute screenplay. The best one can hope for with a great movie is a clear well defined argument that makes you think about a situation in a new way.

Anyone who has read the Fountainhead can attest to the ridiculous modernist notion of special treatment for the super human, great genius who stands outside of normal human expectations (such as decency, compassion, human kindness, caring, being interested in things other than yourself) because of his great talent. She literally makes the case that some people should be above the law, above human decency and be lavished with an endless fountain of praise and support no matter how socially retarded, because they are intrinsically better than everyone else.

Hmmm, what does this sound like?

Oh, yeah, Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Funny she lived here in the land of NPD (Hollywood). And there in lies the key. There seems to be a fundamental personality dysfunction which is attracted to this (conservative often Republican) model. One that feels the need to be better than everyone else, to be treated specially and has to have other people suffering so they can feel good about themselves. Upon closer inspection the conservative movement seems to be less motivated by an ideology than a mental illness – what I used to deem “Mad Squirrel disease” where an individual can never have enough and constantly seeks out more and more nuts to add to their storehouse despite the fact that they will never be able to physically use all of what they have acquired.

After studying psychology I realized this was a character trait of Narcissism. Our culture has promoted it. Wall Street was immersed in the darkest part of this mental illness. I wish these people would spend their money getting therapy and get out of the way of change. They spin empathy and humanitarianism into socialism and communism. They turn the notion of helping people who are losing their homes into something akin to a welfare state, but yet, for them, the special few, they not only have their hands out, but their pockets, their buckets, their private jets and anything else they can cram taxpayer dollars into under the guise of “saving jobs.” When they say that I think they mean, saving the jobs of the captains of their private jets, not the 10,000 jobs they are shipping to India because they don’t want to pay a living wage or give their employees healthcare.

I had a friend one time who drove an old green VW Bug. She happened to be driving it around the Silicon Valley in a very wealthy area. This guy in a Mercedes was offended by how carefully and slowly she was going, not and yelled at her, “Peasant!” I think that says it all.

When it comes to how these people feel about themselves and the way they see everyone else. They appear to be living in feudal Europe during the dark ages. Sad for us they are not actually living back then, but are just imposing these unconscionable notions on the rest of us.

Best wishes and many blessings to all you good people,

Denise

P.S. I will announce the winners soon. And have you noticed on the Myers Briggs poll almost no extraverts. I’m guessing this is because extraverts are not very interested in taking personality tests.

Don’t forget to vote in the poll if you know your Myers Briggs type or your Enneagram type.

Call to Arms…

Just last night I answered a readers question about the opposition of Uranus and Saturn. The forces of left and right going head to head are here. I’d like to post this I got via-e-mail from a reader about getting involved to help support our new president get our country back on track:

Dear Denise,

You gave me that wonderful reading back in December. I just thought I’d FYI you about this rightwing campaign to scuttle President Obama’s stimulus package and what we can do to counteract it.

FYI below.

Thanks

To all who support President Obama and his stimulus package:

The right wing has mounted a call-in drive against President Obama’s stimulus package and senators (including Durbin and Burris from Illinois), representatives and the White House are being deluged with calls. We who support Obama and his programs MUST do our part and make phone calls supporting the stimulus package.

According to Thom Hartmann, Air America radio talk show host, one of the best ways to get through is to call your local office. I found this to be the case and, in fact, when I mentioned the right wing campaign to the lady at Durbin’s office she said: “Oh, I was wondering why we were getting so many calls against the package.”

If you’re in Illinois, I’ve listed the Chicago senate office numbers for Burris and Durban below. There is also info for folks from other states.

Also, it’s important to call the White House Comment Line (number below). I just called it and the operator I talked to said that she had received 40 calls against the stimulus package and only 10 for it.

IMPORTANT: CALLING IS THE KEY, NOT EMAILING.

To find out your Senators local office (in any state), go to:

Answering Readers’ Questions…

OK I’m going to answer 3 questions from one reader tonight and also tackle the auto industry mess. I did not have time today to watch their plea for money today, but here are the charts of 2 major auto industry giants, and some indication of their fate.

Personally, I don’t feel that the companies should be bailed out, the workers should be. By this I mean instead of giving them 25 billion to these companies to screw things up some more, why not give all of the workers a decent severance pay, and re-education training, then make the overpaid CEOs who have run these companies into the ground, repay the 25 billion dollar loan off by selling their private jets, downsizing their homes, and selling off their assets until they lifestyle is commensurate with their job performance.

For the past 30 years these companies have made crappy cars, been in bed with the oil companies, have laid of thousands of workers without any concern for them (until the crocodile tears we’re seeing now) and haven’t invested in research, design, engineering or technology. According to the free market capitalism they’ve been playing ball in, they deserve to go under. All they are going to do with this money is waste it. So I say give it to the people who need it, the workers — give them enough to survive the transition into a new field of work and retrain them. That will ultimately do the economy a lot more good then throwing money down a golden CEO toilet.

Now you may say, hey Denise, you thought the bail out for wall street was OK, what gives? Well, I did think the first package, the one that didn’t pass would have helped a great deal, but the compromised one would do no good. And in that case the problem was worldwide like a global leukemia that needed immediate chemotherapy. Unfortunately, before that happened someone stuck a bunch of saltwater in the IV instead of the needed drug, and it didn’t kill off the bad paper (which is causing a strangle hold on the economy) it just watered down the problem. This is real trickle down economics, bad decisions by the greedy to steal the poor’s money through false promises of being able to buy and afford the American Dream of owning a home. Now its trickling down to us all paying for their con.

So lets look at Chrysler and GM’s charts and see if bailing them out is worth it.

picture-17I think GM will get a bail out, but they’ll have another crisis of major proportions in 2011, and very likely go under at that time, so I don’t see the point of bailing them out. They are going to fail eventually, it’s only staving off the inevitable. It would take a miracle, over the next couple of years, for them to turn this company around, and make the coming transiting Pluto opposing their natal Pluto be a change for a better rather then the death of the company. I think its really throwing good money after bad with them, but congress in its freak out state will try to do something, the money may not really come into their possession until mid-late January of 09 though.

OK, now here goes with Chrysler. Again they are headed for total destruction. But not immediately, I don’t want to bother going into all the dreadful aspects with them, there are too many. They really don’t have a chance of making it in the long haul. By 2012 they will be collapsing in on themselves. Again, giving them money will only hold the coming problem off until then, but I feel congress will try to rescue them as well, but it will ultimately be for naught. They are in even more serious trouble then GM. And they are not very upfront with their business. We’ll find out about a lot of bad stuff in 2012, a lot of smarmy activity and reckless business dealings.

This is very sad. Anyone who works in this industry, my advice to you is this: You have a couple of years, take classes at a community college or any sort of school that offers you a new career opportunity. The medical field, nursing homes, funeral businesses, prisons, the federal government and institutions of all kinds will be growing over the next twenty years as Uranus (and then Neptune) transit through Pisces. So nursing, being an MRI tech, x-ray tech, funeral director, prison guard, government employee, will all be areas of opportunity. Start taking classes in a related field and do research on careers ruled by Pisces, there are many. Find one that seems interesting and get education to go into that new field. You don’t have very long, so don’t waste your time trying to keep your auto industry job unless you want to move to wherever they make Toyotas and Hondas.

Hi Denise:
(1) The Gallop poll shows that Obama’s favorability rating is at 71%. Are the people who didn’t vote for him finally starting to see him as the right person for the job? This rating is very good for someone who hasn’t even taken office yet. Go Obama!
(2) Do you the know the timing of when Sarah Palin will have this civil case against her? She has been plastered all over the news lately. Everyone wants an interview with her to ask about her $150,000 + clothes (was this her doing?). She should really be ashamed of herself for saying those lies about Obama. She’s so quick to call people “jerks” and liars if they say anything negative about her…but when she does it, in her eyes it’s ok…like when she tried to incite hate and violence towards Obama. It’s just so upsetting to see these republicans being so hypocritical and mean. I don’t understand them at all.
(3) Speaking of hypocrisy, Elisabeth Hasselbeck (Sarah Palin’s twin sister), the woman who is so hated by many for her strong republican views, constantly butts heads with her co-hosts. I really don’t think her co-hosts enjoy working with her, eventhough they say they do and they all love each other. I feel they secretly hate her too and they just have to put up with her because this team brings high ratings. What do you think about this?
Thanks again for answering our questions. I really enjoy this site…I feel we have our own little community in here where we can come to share our views, seek spiritual guidance and feel hope! Thank you Denise!

Hi Tckal,

Question 1:

I think this is because there were many people on the Republican side who knew Obama was the better man for the current job, even McCain admitted he didn’t know much about the economy. McCain certainly isn’t a dumb guy, but between the two men, Obama has a superior intellect, something we are in desperate need of after 8 years of a monkey (George W, ironically looks like Curious George to me only he’s missing the curios part) banging on a typewriter hoping to write MacBeth.

Many people identify themselves with a party kind of in the same way they identify themselves with a religion. They are raised Catholic so they call themselves that, but they never attend church, are pro-choice, don’t know if they believe in God, hated CCD and never read the bible. But they have incorporated Catholic into their identity because that’s what their family was, or is, and so they think of themselves that way even though they really aren’t. This goes for the brands Republican and Democrat.

I’ve seen people on both sides misidentify themselves because of this same issue. For instance (this has happened to me more then once and on both sides of the fence) I have a musician friend that when we first met told me, he was a Republican. I found this hard to believe because everything he said and did ran counter to this identity. So I asked why he said he was a Republican. His answer was, “that’s the way I was raised.”

“OK,” I said. “So your anti-choice?”

“No,” he replied.

“You’re anti-gun control?”

He shook his head.

“So your all for the, ‘just say no to drugs thing.'”

He smiled mischeveiously.

“You believe in criminalizing drug offenders?”

“No,” he said.

“Well, you’re not a Republican then, you’re a Democrat,” I finally said.

After a few weeks of thinking about what he believed, and the platform of both parties, he realized he really was a Democrat, and not a Republican, but it took someone confronting him on it for him to think about it. I think a lot of people who identify themselves as Republicans couldn’t do the deed of voting Democrat because it would be like being a Bears fan and going to Soldier Field, sitting in the Bears section, and rooting for the visiting Broncos to win. It’s a loyalty issue. Odd as that may seem.

Personally, if the Democrats started acting like Republicans, and Republicans like Democrats, I’d become a Republican. Doubtful this will happen anytime soon, but for me, and I’m sure most people who read this blog, its the ideology of fairness, compassion, kindness, humanitarianism, helping out those in need and being open minded (as long as they aren’t violent or vile or something like that) we are loyal to, it’s not the brand name Democrat. But not everyone thinks this way. So I think of the71% you mentioned, that extra 18% or so of Republicans, they wanted to vote Obama, but couldn’t make their hand punch a hole next to the word Democrat.

2) Oh, Sarah Palin…

picture-13See all that stuff in her 7th house? That rules court cases and the public eye, she has and has had Neptune (glamour, confusion, delusion) going back and forth over all those planets this year which is probably why she was tapped (astrologically speaking) for the position of VP out of relative obscurity. I’d say the suit will be filed next year, and will come to fruition (either in settlement terms or a court case) in 2010 when Neptune hits her Saturn (hello, karma).

3) Elizabeth Hasselbeck…

I don’t know if you heard of the study done by Dr. Drew Pinsky about narcissism and different sorts of stars. Musicians had the lowest, or most normal rates per capita of those he studied, actresses (interestingly not actors) the second highest percentage of NPD over the general public, and guess who had out of control NPD? Reality TV show personalities. Turns out they had this mental illness in overwhelming numbers. Need I say more?

OK, I will. This mental illness (in its extreme) or tendency often makes people difficult to deal with. They have major entitlement issues, and this, as we have all known people like that, is not fun to deal with.

However, I’m not saying Elizabeth Hasselbeck has this problem (I’d have to look at her real chart, not just solar to see if she has it, Sarah Palin does, though).

I have often wondered about your question as well. I do have the feeling she drives the rest of the women on the show a bit crazy, but I also get the feeling she’s probably very nice to them, and I don’t feel she holds onto anything. Despite her annoying views, I have a feeling she’s pretty upbeat, and when not talking politics, or ideology is probably good natured, and fun to have around.

So in answer to that question, I’d have to say, I think she was driving them nuts during the election, but they don’t hate her. And now that its over I’m sure any rifts can be patched.

Hold on tight, we’re getting closer to the wild ride.

Best of luck to all of you and many blessings,

Denise

Sarah Palin-Gate

September 19, 2008 ·

So Sarah and her hubby won’t cooperate with the bipartisan investigation. Well, looking at her chart this will backfire big time. With Neptune going conjuncting her sun and traveling through her 7th house of partnerships she is delusional along with her partners, aka John McCain and her husband Todd. The 7th house also rules public enemies and with that Neptune transit there are a lot of open enemies who are still hiding but will start coming out as the aspects in her chart worsen. Worse than just the transit is the inconjunction to her first house or rising sign of Leo, this is a major identity adjustment and not for the good like becoming Vice President, but more akin to going to jail or being seen as a criminal after living a life of religious righteousness.

The obvious question is: why stall the investigation if she’s innocent? The McCain camp must think her guilty or they wouldn’t want the info to come out after the election otherwise it would be to their advantage to clear her name before hand.

With transiting Uranus going through her eighth again inconjuncting her rising at 19 degrees Leo, some unexpected dirt, probably sexual in nature, abuse of power or something really dark and dirty will come to light correcting her ego which has run amok.

Transiting Jupiter her fifth is also squaring her natal Jupiter in the ninth which in my opinion means she’s gambling with the law and she’s going to rub against it in a bad way. All these aspects really start to get bad in October, late, close to the election. I could go on, but its safe (astrologically speaking) to say that her past and abuse of power will catch up with her. The truth will prevail in her case. It’s not going to be good for Ms. Palin unless she’s as clean as a newly laundered towel and it certainly looks like she’s not. Even someone who was truly evolved and pure would have trouble under these aspects, but would ultimately be vindicated, in Sarah’s case she’s looking at the loss of her position, not just losing as the VP, but potentially she could be impeached as govener of Alaska. I’ll have to look into this later. I haven’t gone that far into the future with her yet.

Sarah Palin Psychic Prediction about Abuse of Power Investigation

September 20, 2008 · 1 Comment

We all know that Sarah and her hubby have refused to show up after subpoenaed, which for normal people would mean contempt of court, but for Republicans I guess it’s different (Karl Rove for example). I did a series of readings of how this would play out in the presidential race and it looks bad for the McCain/Palin camp or as Sarah would call it, the Palin/McCain camp.

Asking a series of questions of the tarot cards I found some interesting things. Seems that not going along with the investigation will turn voters against her rather than what they are hoping, to bury the story. It looks like she is guilty of abuse of power, according to the cards, nothing much would have come of it in terms of their findings if they would have cooperated. She would have been better off going along with it, clearing her name before the election and giving the appearance of cleanliness, but alas the McCain peeps have made yet another tactical blunder.
