I should have googled Rush’s Alma madder. I meant to and forgot as I wrote the post over several days. Rush I guess wasn’t smart enough to go to an Ivy League school went to SE Missouri. And I can’t substantiate he was rich growing up. I only heard that on MSNBC and on Real Time with Bill Maher, but I do actually have a friend who was flown on his private jet and did actually sit in his mansion on the ocean with Clarence Thomas and many others.

I know you’re like, Denise, but we thought you hated conservative people.

No. I just don’t like Rush Limbaugh. He’s an obnoxious jack ass.

For the record as long as a person is kind and decent I don’t care how they identify themselves, what their color, race, religion or political party.

Age Of Aquarius

I find it interesting that the fabric of the right has unraveled to reveal the mummies they are. The current spokesman Rush Limbaugh – a man who has to fake girlfriends because he is so reviled by the opposite sex. A man who claims to be of the people, spewing venom at the supposed “elite,” yet he is perhaps in the highest echelon of the elite. He not only makes a reported 400 million dollars a year, lives in a palace, has a private jet, grew up in a rich family and went to one of those “elite” Ivy League colleges, he hangs out with the most wealthy and powerful people in the Republican party. He doesn’t sound much like Joe the plumber. Yet he has managed with his forked tongue to manipulate the ignorant masses who somehow believe he gets where they are coming from.

No. He’s a manipulative douche bag who taps into the xenophobia, homophobia and racism of isolated people who are mostly uneducated and frightened by the things they see on TV. It’s not that these people are bad or stupid, it’s just they long for some Mayberry past that never existed, and romanticize/glamorous the wealthy as if they are demigods who have no problems and somehow deserve their special place and privilege.

Does anyone actually believe that Rush Limbaugh works harder than any other person owning their own business? Of course he doesn’t. Even if he did nothing but work eighteen hours a day 7 days a week is his contribution to our world worth $400,000,000 dollars a year? Uhm, let’s see. Big NO. His “contribution” isn’t worth 2 cents. He’s an agent of his own agenda seeking to brainwash the masses into what FDR called a “royalist” mindset or what I call a “feudal” one. I suppose he gets the big bucks because he’s pretty good at confusing the average person into thinking he’s actually doing them a favor. The everyday people who listen to Limbaugh want there to be strict black and white rules about everything and desire easy answers so they might avoid the messy truth and the difficult work of introspection, compassion and wisdom. But the problem with the Universe is it is complex, multi-layered, morally complicated and requires constant introspection for true growth to occur.

Leading and following seem to be built into the primitive part of our brains (the monkey part where Alpha and Omega primate pecking order live) which is why the 60s movement promoting the questioning of authority and individuality wasn’t as much of a success as it should have been. It’s also why Christ, who came along to teach the Jews they had the wrong idea about God, to teach God was loving, compassionate and didn’t want human beings to judging each other, was misconstrued into a strange uncomfortable mix between the old and new testament God which makes so little sense anymore it borders on absurd.

Until we can act like rational evolved beings we will have war, poverty, ignorance, greed and prejudice.

In the new era we are facing, only those who can weigh information and take leaps in their thought processes will be able to survive the changes we are about to encounter. Following won’t do. We are as the old 60s song said, “at the dawning of the age of Aquarius,” and it will be imperative to our personal survival to understand the bigger picture, how we personally fit in and how we can change things for the better.

In Memory of Duane Jarvis & Our Broken Health Care System

On April 1st we learned a 51 year old friend, Duane Jarvis, died of colon cancer. I knew him for years before his girlfriend told me he had a terrible, painful case of scoliosis and had spent much of his life in bad health and in pain. Yet, he was a gentle and sweet spirit who relished life and took every opportunity to be and do what his heart dictated. About eighteen months ago he was diagnosed with colon cancer. We found this out because his ex-wife in an effort to help him sent out e-mails to all his friends to help him with his mounting medical bills.

Now this man was no slouch. He worked all his life as a professional musician. But of course being a musician is not like working at Starbucks, there are no 401k plans with health and dental added. Yet, he contributed to the lineage of art so many of us love. Yet because the life of an artist is feast or famine, up, down and a hustle, he did not have adequate health care. And I’m sure with his medical history even if he wanted to purchase it, it would have been out of his ability to pay for it.

His friends pitched in to help save his life. But he lost his battle at 1:30 in the morning at a hospice with an ocean view, with a smile on his face. He never complained about his pain, his disease or his troubles.

Not only was this poor man fighting a horrible, painful, aggressive form of cancer, he had to worry about the financial cost to him and the loved ones he knew he would leave behind. It has been proven that cancer is made worse by stress and chances are good that if he had good medical care to begin with his colon cancer never would have gotten so out of control, claiming his life at the early age of 51.

For all out there who still believe each one of us should think only of ourselves, and not come together as a nation and take care of each other through a universal healthcare system, I ask do you listen to music? Do you read books, enjoy art, read magazines, watch movies or enjoy any form of art as a release, a way to wind down to reflect on your life in a different way? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then I’d like to burst your illusion that those in the arts, even the people you on the outside would deem successful, have the financial stability to pay for their healthcare. Yet we all enjoy the fruits of their work. Art attunes us with our soul, the universe, God, our spirit and each other. It aides compassion, encourages self-reflection and produces self-discovery. It is actually one of the only things we as Americans still make and export. Yet for more than 90% of professional artists of all kinds there is no safety net in this country (unlike other democratic, civilized places.)

Republicans will belly ache about personal responsibility, yet it costs more for us to foot the bill for radical treatment that could have been avoided due to prevention then footing the bill for radical treatment when someone cannot afford their care. And is it fair that after years of giving to the world these individuals and their families should be punished with outrageous bills because they don’t work for a corporation that gives them health insurance?

Our health care system is absurd. There is no reason corporations should pay for our health care and there is no reason people who are self-employed, whether in the arts or otherwise, should be punished with outrageous costs they often opt to avoid.

More than half of all Americans walk this tight rope every day, hoping and praying they don’t get sick because they can’t afford a trip to the doctor’s office let alone several hundred dollars a month to an insurance company who will then, often fight to make sure they pay as little as possible.

And our life expectancy is at #50 of all countries in the world, ranking well below all western European countries, Canada, Hong Kong, South Korea and Bosnia for God’s sake.

How could it possibly be that we are the wealthiest country in the world and yet we let ten percent of our population control about 70 percent of the wealth? How can anyone who is not in that top echelon actually abide this? Why is it that any rational human being who works and pays taxes is not absolutely outraged by this? And how is it that the Republicans have managed to sell us on the idea that our system is fine?

Oh, yeah, the amplified fear of communism (aka more aptly dictatorship) which is actually just faked for the benefit of those who don’t understand why there would literally have to be a civil war in our country for a dictatorship to occur although we did get just about as close as we could with the Bush administration with their tactic of not counting the votes. According to the Limbaugh’s of the world it appears going back to the tax code of 1993 which was a 36 percent tax for the wealthy 10 percent to a 3 percent increase at 39 percent is a communist plot and of course so is universal health care. Hmm, I wonder who benefits most from that position. Oh, yeah the rich like Limbaugh. So he’s basically arguing from an entirely selfish point of view but trying to sell it as some sort of great American ideal when it’s nothing but more money for his private planes, which by the way he has, I know someone who was picked up and taken to his mansion in Florida by one of them. (Yes, I do have all kinds of friends.)

As I pointed out in an earlier post, communism is not the same as democratic socialism. In communist countries where they took Marx & Lennon’s ideas and ran with them they all ultimately turned into dictatorships because there was no accountability written into their ideology. The notion that a group of people would take everyone’s stuff and then divide it up among all the people evenly is insane and of course was an open invitation for graft, power hungry dictators, and greedy buerocrats. This was beyond psychologically naive, it was ideologically irrational, unsound and irresponsible. No checks and balances, no elections, hell, with all of Marx’s good intentions of lifting up the poor, he may as well have slapped a “rape the people of this country here” sticker on whatever flag adopted those ideas.

As out of whack as the US has gotten with capitalism swallowing our Democracy through corporate lobbyists and special tax laws and loopholes for the wealthy who could pay their way into the halls of power, we still have the power to pull back the reigns on this out of control buggy. And as a people we obviously have started yelling, “whoa!” by ousting the Republicans who have for the past 30 years aligned themselves with corporations, big money and lobbyists in a much more extreme way than Democrats. 

But Democrats have to start really pulling the reigns back before we leap off the mountain here. And let’s get real; they aren’t all that much better than Republicans. They take money from special interests, lobbyists and play all the same games. There is just a bigger percentage of people who identify with the working/middle class in the Democratic party but that’s been drifting away over the past 20 years as well. Which is why Obama was and is such a breath of fresh air. He actually seems like he has, can you believe it, IDEALS! It’s been a long time since we’ve seen that in a politician.

In my humble opinion this form of out of control corporate capitalism is at odds with Democracy at this point in our history. There are laws that need to be put into place, such as, if you are an American company, your product should have to be made in America. As a private citizen if I wanted to go live in France I couldn’t because I’m not French. I’m American. So why is it that corporations started by Americans and incorporated here, can make their crap in China, and then put an office in Guam and avoid paying American taxes? If you ask me this behavior is anti-American and one of the big dark roots of the economic disaster America is finding itself in. All that talk about how unemployment wasn’t that bad during the Bush administration was B.S. Besides changing the rules on how unemployment statistics were reported to only reporting people on the unemployment rolls in the unemployed statistics and cutting unemployment benefits back to 6 months, I hardly think working part-time at Wal-Mart for the minimum wage while being taught how to get food stamps and welfare by the corporate douche bags at Wal-Mart qualifies as the kind of good manufacturing jobs we shipped overseas. You know, the ones where people actually got paid a living wage, one they could feed and clothe their families on.

Another point I’d like to make here is the big mistake of the 1970s when women entered the work force and ERA was not passed. What people didn’t get was paying women 70 cents to the dollar a man would make for the same job drove down wages to the point where now both parents have to work in order to support a family.

It’s the very same principle Lou Dobbs complains about with the Mexicans driving down wages and taking away jobs because they are willing to work for less. Well, guess who relaxed the boarder laws for this very reason? The Reagan administration. Yes, that’s right folks. Allowing illegal people to stream across the boarders was a way to modernize indentured servitude. Again the goal was to make the rich, richer without any consideration of the other 90% of Americans. I’m in no way blaming the Mexican people who have come here in search of a better life. Our country is a hodge-podge of people from all over the world who came here for the very same reason. As a matter of fact the way the Mexican people have been exploited and then demonized is very much akin to what happened to the Irish who came here as indentured servants. Their pay was a ticket on a ship to America and they spent years as slaves until working this off only to find there was tremendous animosity for them because they were poor, and often in desperate straights.

Enough of my blabbing. I just want to point out that history repeats itself. It mutates and grows new claws, but there are patterns. Unfortunately, these facts are not pointed out or even noted for people to consider. I hope to at least try to illuminate those who have been seeing things through the lens of FOX news. By the way I want to note here that numerologicaly FOX = 666 for those who are of the Christian faith.

I have had it with that windbag Rush Limbaugh! Exactly how does a failed DJ from Pittsburgh who has never ever even attended a political science class, a drug addict and a bigot end up being treated as though he is some authority on the US? Every day in the news I am treated to Rush’s latest outrageous comments? Is anything being done behinde the scenes to shut him up for good (searching for scandals perhaps?) or can we expect some skeleton in his closet to put an end to his bloviating? Any chance he will eventually be marginalized by the GOP?

I’m answering Marlene first because I’ve been thinking a little bit about Limbaugh and his legion of suckers. I’ve been having this strong feeling that his antics are going to get old soon.  People are starting to figure him out. I’m sure he’ll have his die hard cult like fans, but the economy being in ruins, while Limbaugh gets rich shouting off his mouth about stuff he hasn’t half a brain cells worth of information about, isn’t going to fly.

And I don’t think people are going to believe its great for the rich to get richer anymore while they worry about losing their homes and/or family and friends losing their homes because the “greed is good” motto which Rush ascribes to has shown its true nature and its not good.

Greed is actually one of the seven deadly sins and there is a reason for it. Hording resources all for your self, wanting to be bigger and better than everyone else because you have a defective ego and need to see others suffer so you can feel better about your lame self, is disgusting. And these people call themselves Christians. I don’t think Christ would agree.

I really feel that we are just beginning to see the swing to the left. And I’m hopeful we’ll be able to undo a lot of the damage done by the right. I feel Americans are learning a big lesson here. Number one is, we are all in this together for and two, we all need help sometimes. That whole “pull yourselves up by your own bootstraps” motto doesn’t work so well when you have no boots, let alone straps. The assumption that we should all just worry about ourselves and screw everyone else is not only anti-Christian but anti-moral, anti-human, anti-compassionate.

Not everyone is born with Paris Hilton’s money, Einstein’s vision, Billy Jean Kings back swing, or even an average IQ. Some people struggle to read, some people are deaf or blind or have severe depression or have physical ailments that impede their ability to do most jobs. So we’re all suppose to just die homeless, on the street while starving to death if we can’t find a job, or get a job that pays enough to live on or work enough hours at the low paying job to make ends meet? This was the basic philosophy of life they sold us. I could never understand how anyone could believe it. It’s absurd.

I watched an episode of Super nanny the other night where the family was English and the dad supported his wife and three kids working at a fast food restaurant. I honestly couldn’t get over that. It was like looking back at 1950s America when people made a living wage here. It blew my mind. Here this guy would have to have 2 crappy jobs and his wife would also have to have 2 and be working 80 hours a week just to survive. And they still wouldn’t have health care! And their kids would have no real chance to go to anything but a community college and they’d never be able to retire. It’s so awesome being an American. We should really be proud to be one of the richest places in the world for those 1 percent who control all our wealth! Good for them, they make us special!

This country in the past 20 years became so barbaric in its capitalism I hardly recognized it as the same country I was a child in during the 70s. I wondered where all those open minded people who were smoking pot and going to rallies and rock concerts went. What happened to all those people who wanted peace and love and were anti-commercial, anti-materialism? I think a lot of them became Yuppies during the 80s and instead of smoking pot started snorting cocaine and their world view went up their nose!

We got lost there. Our country disappeared up its own bottom with all the crazy double talk, crazy making ways the Right wing sold their agenda of making the rich richer. They sold it under the guise of, “anybody could do it,” when they were actually rigging the game the whole time in their favor. It was such an enormous Ponzi scheme. The biggest dupe ever. It feels like we just got done with an era of criminals running the government, you know like what happens in other countries, not places like AMERICA, nothing like that could ever happen to us! That’s exactly how it happened to us! We stopped paying attention, believed all the crap those with a mic in hand said was the truth and lost interest in participating in our government.

I actually remember arguing with people about voting back when I was in high school. I was excited to get to do it at 18 and I had friends who could have cared less. I was appalled. When I confronted them they said things like, “It doesn’t matter. It’s just one vote.” They were so confident in our system of government they actually believed we as a nation were impervious to real corruption, abuse of power and politicians with agendas meant to serve only the wealthy few who supported them. Talk about naive.

This is why we are in the mess we are in. We as whole were a band of naive school children being led by FOX news and the newest versions of Herst that came in the form of Rupert Murdock. People actually used to believe what they read in a newspaper when I was a young adult. I think most people have seen enough slant from one paper to the next that we all know at this point there is no such thing as “objective” journalism which is why bloggers have become so popular.

At least a blogger doesn’t have to pretend to be objective about anything. You know the person’s slant and you can take their view point with a grain of salt, and you’ll now how much and what kind of salt to take it with because they will be very clear about their bent, making no apologies for it. At least this forum eliminates the gate keepers who have an agenda and it allows for enough variety of opinion for a person to make up their own mind.

The Internet has liberated our minds and has radically changed how we see and obtain information. I have a grand and strong feeling that the Limbaugh’s of this world will end up being no more popular than the biggest of the big bloggers.

In Limbaugh’s case, if we ignore him. He will go away! He’s the Courtney Love or Madonna (back in their days) of radio, always doing something to keep himself in the news. Same with that freak of a free loving, giant Adam’s apple (makes you wonder a little) skinny, googly eyed freak, Ann Coulter. I think she literally stole Courtney Love’s playbook after she made a xerox of Madonna’s while adding in a few extra zesty crazy ideas in to take it one step further.

That Coulter I think is by far the most out of control of all of them which is why people like her. I kind of feel like they love looking at the crazy, googly eyed nut job whose always on the verge of losing her sh*t because she’s got some kind of serious emotional problem and seems almost like one of Freud’s hysterics. She’s a carnival ride.

I used to think she knew it and was playing people, but recently I’ve started getting the feeling that she actually believes she’s some genius which she will (sadly for us) probably never get how very wrong she is as I’m sure she equates how much money she’s made with some kind of IQ score. It’s been my observation that often people of very average intellect are the most successful as their tastes and intellect connect with the masses in ways super brainics do not. I think Coulter actually has lost touch with reality and is like a crazed rabid pit bull. All of those people should be IGNORED. It’s exactly the one thing they don’t want. And the only thing that will stop them!

OK, so here goes. The first from:

I dream of Israel too

Hi Denise, well written. I too am Jewish and cannot believe Israel’s mismanagement of world opinion by its behavior in Gaza. I’ve seen more antisemitism this winter than I have ever witnessed in my life. Will there be any sympathy when the cards fall karmically in Israel? I kind of tend to doubt it. Instead people round the world will be cheering, “Good! Filthy Jews, die!” It is almost as though non-Jews are writing the policy in Israel and attributing it to us in order to get us all killed! Hitler in his wildest dreams could not have come up with a more efficient plan to make Jews and Jewry look bad 😦 I too have dreams of Israel before she misbehaves in the world theatre. Tell me what this dream from four nights ago means, because it has me terrified: I was here in New York, among tall buildings, and the sky was a very deep, strange, unreal twilight blue. People were pointing with smiles of wonder up at the sky, so I looked. Odd military aircraft were streaking by overhead and all had the Mogen David symbol on them. These were firing missiles down at America. I saw F16s appear and fire back, but deliberately off-target so as not to hit any Israeli aircraft. I asked, “What is going on, why are Israeli jets firing at America?” And a voice from someone in the crowd yelled, “Israel is attacking America!” People began to run screaming in all directions. I continued to look up at this bizarre sight of Israeli jets firing odd streaming missiles through the sky, and American jets either deliberately missing them, or having their return fire shunted aside almost supernaturally. Nothing the US fired touched so much as one Israeli warplane. It was like the US had its hands tied behind its back. Now: a large bridge was prominent in the dream, and among the people fleeing, I saw a man who resembled Ted Kennedy, and thought to myself, “Senator Ted Kennedy; what is he doing here?” I woke up having a very bad feeling off this dream. PS, any commenters who call me a self-hating Jew, Israel is now a shanda fur die goyim. If you really are Jewish, pro-IDF folks, you know exactly what the phrase means. Read it and weep.

You are so right about all of it. It really is upsetting because in order for Jewish people to always have a safe haven (which is why the UN championed the formation of the state after WWII) the Israeli government really must try extra hard to peacefully co-exist. Yitzhak Rabin was heroic and if only the current group of politicians would take their cues from him and continue his work then not only would Israel be safer but the whole world would be as well. The majority of Israeli and Palestinian people want peace. And both sides deserve this, both sides are human beings who bleed, feel pain and want only to be free and safe.

From what I heard about editorials in Israel, most papers slammed the Israeli government for their actions. So you and I are not the only Jewish people who find their actions repugnant. It’s really the American people who don’t get a balanced, even handed account of things who get upset about this. And a lot of Christians because Israel figures into their final days scenario. They need an Israel so Jesus can come back. But if Israel were to continue the way it was behaving (and I’m not sure what exactly is going on there right now, it’s been out of the news) it wouldn’t be long before one of its neighbors was pushed by its people to drop a nuke on them. Personally, I really don’t want that to happen! So I think if anything you are a self-loving Jew. You want Israel to be a better place with a better government, same can be said for being an American and pointing out our flaws so that we can fix them.

Oh, and your dream! I interpret it to mean that Israel is being self-destructive and putting the US at risk by their behavior. The fact that we made a show of trying to shoot them down, but it wasn’t in earnest, illustrates well, how we’ve dealt with the crisis going on in Gaza. I think your dream may also have a premonitory warning against terrorist backlash as well — the fact that it took place in New York where the biggest attack of the kind here happened. The dream was telling you that the actions of Israel aggressively endangered the US.

As for the reference to Senator Kennedy, perhaps because he’s a very liberal political figure and is in the process of dying, he too isn’t another reiteration of the theme of your dream. (Sorry for the unintended rhyme.)

Hopefully you’re having some tranquil sleep because you either didn’t get involved in the stock market or pulled out in the nick of time! I didn’t see this story, but will look for it on line. All I’ve seen so far is mostly political news about the Republican block on Obama’s proposal which I talked a little bit about before news of this came out. It was in the inauguration chart that they would try to peck him to death with stupid details and find every little way they could to give him trouble. But then it doesn’t take a psychic or a chart to figure that one out! 

From the info you posted, chances are good a chill will be sent down the spine of investors and we will see another plunge. This is just logic. The astrology showed this period through March as being particularly bad. Hopefully, it will get better.

Maybe it will take a few months for Obama to get a stimulus package through the house and senate. Or perhaps there will be a series of bills that finally change things enough for us to start seeing that the worst of the storm finally starting to clear by then.

Hi Hope and a Plan,

The answer to that is yes, if the couple legally re-marries. If it’s just a renewal of vows then it will have a chart, but more related to the 5th house, or just a sort of renewal of the romance. It won’t change the chart of the marriage.

However if the couple re-marries then the new chart eclipses their old one, and sets the tone for their future together. It’s interesting because I’ve seen people get divorced after being married a long time, and then end up getting re-married. And they definitely have a different dynamic, although of course, being that they are the same people it doesn’t erase their past. Also when it comes to couples there is also a mid-point chart that wouldn’t change. So the psychological, personality stuff remains the same, but with the change in marriage time and new chart it effects the way the couple deals with those issues.

Hi Denise, What will become of the GOP/Ultra Right Wingers over the next decade? Will they shrivel up and blow away, become more prominent or change for the better ? Will they realize their agenda turns the majority of people away? Will Limbaugh,Coulter, O’Reilly and their ilk become less relavant or better yet, marginalized?

This is an excellent question and one I have been asking myself for awhile. I have the feeling that they will end up being marginalized, but not immediately. It will happen more over the next couple of years.  They will end up crawling back into the holes they slithered out of, but I doubt they will go peacefully. And their zombie followers will follow them back into the minority of voices.  

I think people will get tired of their B.S. and bashing. Many people who listen to these idiots are patriotic and want the country to do well. If they see the country going in a better direction I’m sure they will loose interest in the nonsense and ridiculous theatrics of Limbaugh, O’Reilley and Coulter. And those fans who were more on the fence will fall of and see the good in this very exceptional man we have as our current president. I also feel that the rise in more centrist and left leaning media will help restore balance to those who have been brain washed by the theatrics of the Karl Rove Neo-con playbook.

Obama’s 2nd Oath

I ran a chart for the 2nd oath taken by Obama. However, according to the post by Hopeandaplan, legally Obama became president at noon on the 20th. It seems this would be a chart related to how his neigh sayers and enemies will deal with him over the next 4 years. I think this because it was only for them that this second oath took place, so that no one could claim that because the oath was flubbed it didn’t count. Plus the justice who flubbed the oath was someone whom Obama had opposed. 

So let’s look at it and see.

picture-10With Mercury ruling the chart due to the Virgo ascendant and it being Mercury retrograde, which is probably why this happened to begin with (if something legal occurs during Mercury retrograde it inevitably has to be redone or if one goes on a trip during Mercury retrograde it means you will return to that place again later so it’s not always a bad thing), but getting back to the point, Mercury is in Capricorn in the 5th. I’d say there will be a lot of criticism and judgement from the other side about how to deal with the stock market and the financial disaster we’re in.

Be prepared to hear a lot of dramatic exaggeration of how his plan will ruin everything if put into place (by the Republicans) with Mercury being in the 5th house.  There will be an unfair amount of expectation for Obama to be perfect, and his critics will be very nitpicking and harsh with Saturn in Virgo in the 1st house. Expect his greatest criticism to come from the fiscally privileged with Moon in Sagittarius. Those corporations who have shipped jobs over seas, taking them off American soil. This could be because of new laws Obama will try to put in place making it difficult, if not impossible, for companies to exploit developing nations in leu of paying a proper wage to the American worker and keeping jobs here.

With Uranus and Venus conjunct in Pisces in the 7th house squaring the Moon in the 4th and opposing Saturn in the 1st, the loss of jobs, money, and passing of new laws pertaining to work, health-care, public service and  the real estate market means richy rich isn’t going to be pleased. There will be some real reform coming from an idealistic compassionate bent with Uranus conjunct Venus in Pisces meaning the Obama administration won’t have the motto, “greed is good,” but rather a motto of, “lifting up your brother, lifts all humanity.” Usually, selfish, greedy people don’t really dig this, too much, and they will be ravenous dogs picking at every tiny little thing they can find to try and show some sort of hole in his ideals.But I don’t think they’ll get far.

The public is going to be overwhelmingly with Obama, all that Aquarius in the 6th house of the regular working person means he will appeal to their issues and needs. He will do a lot to help those people. Also this chart reflects the reform of the health care system coming in his first term of office.

My feeling is Obama will be like Reagan in that any dirt thrown his way will just blow back on those throwing it. He is definitely the man for this big job, and the hope he has inspired alone is worth so much after 8 years of utter storming despair under the Bush administration’s fear and spy tactics. It’s as if we just broke down the Berlin wall again. The last 8 years were as close as we’ve come so far to a Plutocracy.

As a person who was born in the late 60s, this current America seems to be the direct logical step toward the future I was promised as a kid. The idealism, enlightenment and humanitarianism of that time has come to fruition and feels like a road that one side of us have been walking since this country began. On the other side of that is the old aristocracy, the Queen’s subjects who came over with their Manifest Destiny, murdering the Native Americans, trading slaves and genuinely feeling they were better than everyone else because they were more prosperous.

America it seems has this double, almost schizophrenic personality, the one of Thomas Paine, full of idealism, humanitarian outcry, a desire for personal freedom, a belief in intrinsic rights of mankind and unshakable faith in the goodness of the human heart. And the other religious zealot side, and not just any kind of religious zealot, but the kind who actually believe they are so much better than everyone else, and their religion is so righteous, that God has given them the right to enslave, steal, lie, cheat and murder “heathen” Native Americans. Whole villages of Native Americans were murdered and by accounts horrendous war crimes committed such as cutting off Native American women’s breasts and throwing them around as a game and raping and murdering both women and children.

This unabashed, disgusting, grotesque narcissistic imperial mind set is the shadow side, the one we don’t teach to our children in school, but it lives on in people like Ann Coulter, Bill O’Reilley, Rush Limbaugh. These vile bottom feeders dig deep into the well of the shadow side of the American psyche, playing the strings of racism, hatred, fear and stupidity.

In my lifetime I have witnessed the tug of war between our better “angels” as Lincoln said and our inner demons. We’ve ping ponged from darkness to light and from light to darkness with the push of a chad. When I was younger I was naive enough to believe that people were becoming more enlightened, and the world was going to just keep getting better and better all the time. But it isn’t that simple, we will always have to fight off are dark side. We must always be vigilant against those who preach hate and masquerade it with long blond hair and a tight mini-skirt up to the Va-Jay-Jay. Those like Ann Coulter who want everyone else to follow the rules in her head, except that she won’t live by them because she’s special. If she were so conservative then where is her husband and 15 kids? I’ve heard it said in passing several times that she believes in “free love,” meaning she likes to sleep around with people who can make her more money. But if she’s so Christian and pure, then doesn’t this go against her belief system? Why people buy her books or pay attention to anything she has to say is beyond me. I wish people would give her the treatment she deserves, silence and a turn of the back. She isn’t worth the touch of my fingers on the keyboard.
