Just one tiny thing…

A Sun Sign Overview for 2009

We are all very complex beings are charts reflect this. Sun sign horoscopes for newspapers are more akin to fortune cookies then real astrology, but that being said I have been asked to write a column for a very large local blog serving the Inland Empire here in Southern California. I’ll put up their link once everything is in order.

Since it is the New Year coming up and we are all wondering about our fate, I thought it would be fun to share the unconventional astrological column I wrote for them which you will get to see first.

I will then get into answering questions again after the holiday season is over.

Best wishes, many blessings to all of you and Happy New Year!!!!

Denise

An Overview of your Sun Sign for the New Year

Aries (March 21 – April 19) – If you were born at the start of the sign of Aries, it will be an odd year. Not only will your sense of identity shift and wobble, but so will your career. You may find starting your own business or becoming more independent in your job situation is the best way to solve the coming changes. You may have heavily identified with your career in the past, and will be forced to re-invent how you see yourself. It will be essential to put your ambition and career aspirations into perspective.

It is important for all Aries people to re-examine their careers right now with Pluto in Capricorn making an applying square over the next several years, issues of self-fulfillment in relationship to your career, and also becoming more independent, and less reliant on your job to give you a sense of yourself and your identity. Now will be the time you find yourself spiritually, attuning to who you truly are, finding your passion, and putting it to action if you do things right.

If you resist the karma of Pluto, and push to stay in a career that is making you miserable, chances are you will find yourself out of a job, and with identity issues. If this becomes the case, use your time to find your passion, and re-create yourself, and your life, instead of wallowing in anger or depression.

Taurus – (April 20 – May 20) If you are an April Taurus through to the middle of May Taurus you either felt or are currently feeling Neptune squaring your sun. This has been, or was a weird time for you, a lot of confusion about how to best express yourself, and issues about serving the greater good, flashes of deep knowing, and transformations in your friendships. For those in the later part of this sign get ready for all of the above to happen. Good news for all of you though, Pluto will be making an applying trine to your sun starting this year, meaning greater opportunities for you over the next 7-10 years, somewhere in this period depending on the exact time of your birth you will reap great benefits and have major transformations coming your way for the better. Powerful allies and better job, and career prospects will be yours, despite the economy, you personally will find your way through this period. If you are in the beginning period of Taurus this luck will come over the next few years, if in the middle, then this luck will be building, and come to fruition in about 4 or 5 years, and again if you are late Taurus you will find your time later in this period, but will start to see this luck build in a few years.

The vast majority of Taurus people have gone through a period where they had to learn to let go of the past in lieu of a better future, often this meant the loss of old friends who perhaps no longer fit in ones life or even family members who created too much hurt to hold onto. Now that this great letting go, flushing out period is almost over (about ¾ of you are done with it, just those late sign people are currently or will in the coming years go through this) you will find a renewed spiritual understanding, and deeper insight into the world, humanity and yourself.

Gemini _ (May 21 – June 21) It’s been the best of times, and the worst of times for Gemini people.  With Pluto making an opposition to your sun for nearly a decade (depending on when you were born some will have had this aspect as long as 8 or 9 years ago, some just last year) you will have seen love lost and found, major changes in the dynamics of your family, more than usual amounts of travel, and an either an urge to go back to school for some, for others perhaps just taking classes here and there during this aspect. This aspect will also have given you access to powerful people that may have taken you on a bit of a roller coaster.

And with Neptune making a trine to your sun, you have found friends who have been good spiritual guides, but have lost friends who were bad for you. If you are in the later part of Gemini, you have yet to experience the positive aspect of friends helping, and guiding you, or those who are negative falling away, but will soon. You will also have and (later Gemini will experience) a greater need to connect with their spirit and a sense of the common good. Humanitarian issues will play a bigger role in your life if they haven’t already. You may find good, even great things come from helping others.

With Saturn squaring your Sun for the past couple of years, somewhere during this period you have felt down, even depressed at times, there may have been career struggles and changes in your work situation. But this will pass in the fall of 2009 as Saturn goes into Libra. This change will bring more balance to your work, and home life, and provide new career opportunities over the next few years. And with Jupiter in Aquarius making a trine to your Sun (early Gemini have already been feeling this) an expansion of your social circle, friendships, and help or aid coming through your friends. You may also feel the desire to get involved in humanitarian causes as your sense of the world at large expands and you see the connection between all people more clearly.

Cancer – (June 22 – July 22) With Pluto beginning to make an opposition to your Sun back in the fall of 2008 and continuing through 2009, there have been housing, family and security issues arising, especially if you were born in the early part of Cancer. You will find yourself torn between work and home, often feeling you are sacrificing one while trying to balance the other. Now is the time to be frugal if you haven’t been because this opposition can destabilize your foundation, specifically your home and career. Saturn in Virgo will soften things until the fall when it goes into Libra and squares your Sun.

For those who are early in the sign, you will find that period bringing issues of marriage, partnerships, legal situations, contracts and issues of fairness in relationship to your career. It could be an anxious time, so be frugal now, and plan ahead. It could also make things happen, such as an engagement, a long awaited contract or a longed for business partnerships finally come to fruition. Best to be self-aware and manifest the positive side of this aspect. For those born later, you will have these issues in 2010-or 2011, so you have longer to prepare, get working on it!

With Uranus in Pisces, you Cancer people have been having keen intuition, flashes of brilliance, loads of ideas and sporadic connection to your spirituality. Right now this is most intense for those Cancer’s born toward the middle-late part of the sign, and would have happened several years back for early cancers, and be something to look forward to for latecomers.

Leo – (July 23 – August 22) Leo’s have been enjoying a time of opportunity for power coming to them from Pluto. Our next President Barack Obama is a Leo, he had positive aspects from the powerful Pluto giving him luck in the arena of politics, but you don’t have to be involved in politics to have seen a rise in your career over the last decade, and major changes in your family life, or at least your perception of them.

As Neptune entered Aquarius back in 1998, those of you who are early Leo’s would have seen major, out of the blue changes in your self-perception, and your goals in life. Some of these may have been paths that went nowhere, others led you to where you are today, and have helped you get in touch with what was truly important in your life, and the more spiritual side of your nature. You also probably went through many friends, loosing touch with some, keeping sporadic contact with others and finding new people filling your life.  This aspect could have brought about a loss in your family. There was also a great urge to connect with the greater good and your mission in life. As Neptune has moved through Aquarius and opposed Leo people’s Sun’s along the way, you will have experienced what I am relaying. For those of you who are mid-late Leo’s you will go through these changes and feelings now. And of course the late Leo’s will feel this between now and 2011.

As of the fall of 2008 and onward, Pluto will no longer feed you a lucky streak, so it is best to ground yourself and tighten your belt, and become more practical in your assessment of all things related to yourself, and your family. You will have some opportunities in your career, which you must go after to make happen, starting when Saturn enters Libra in the fall of 2009. So don’t assume things will just come your way in your career as has been the case for many of you, you will have to play a more active roll in gaining opportunities and capitalizing on them. You will have opportunity for business partnerships, marriage, contracts and legal dealings that will be to your benefit. Saturn will remain in Libra until the fall of 2012. So of course the earlier of a Leo you are the more this applies for 2009 and the later you are you will see these opportunities manifest toward the end of Saturn’s reign in Libra toward the fall of 2011.

Virgo – (August 23 – September 22) Virgos have had a tough go of it for a long time now, they’ve been beaten up by squares to their Sun from Pluto, causing upheaval in their family life, their sense of identity, and in their work. Another whammy has been the opposition of Uranus in Pisces to their Sun’s making them do things that have been out of character. They have felt the need to suddenly rebel against their lives nearly tearing away everything in the process, and in the less fortunate Virgos’ cases they may have lost a lot. But even those that caught themselves at the precipice of throwing away everything they had worked for due to overwhelming unconscious feelings suddenly erupting into their lives, they couldn’t help but do damage to friendships, family, and their own moral code. Some may have had problems with drinking binges, spending binges, or emotional outbursts and/or anxiety.

The good sides of this aspect have been revelations about the self that were buried; a greater connection forged between the mind, and the soul and heightened intuition. For those of you, who are late in the sign of Virgo, watch out! Try to realize these feelings are just those, try not to act on them and destroy the life you have created for yourself. If you do act on them consider going to therapy as a way to tell if you are being self-deceptive, or projecting your own issues onto others. This opposition creates a distorted mirror, exaggerating your own sense of perfection and the people in your life’s flaws. This aspect will make you want to smash your friendships, partners and sense of self to bits leaving you to pick up the pieces after a lot of destruction. So be careful with this, Uranus in Pisces will give you a desperate need to rebel and the Pisces side of it will add illusion and delusion, making you a rebel without a cause.

On the brighter side, those who are early Virgos have gone through this and are about to feel Pluto give them a boost in their careers and work situations. Those of you who are later degree Virgos will experience this later on. Also for the past couple of years and on into the fall of 2009; Saturn has been hitting your Sun. You may have felt or do feel down, depressed, drained, perhaps guilty if you ran your life off into a ditch, and your career/work life has felt like its been in a slump. Saturn will move off your sun in the fall of 2009. It will feel as if a huge weight has been taken off your shoulders and you can finally breath again. For those of you who are late Virgo’s you’ve had some of that, but you’ve also experienced 2008 as a period of expansion in some areas of your career, even giving you some luck, but it came at a price, the price of being overworked and exhausted.

2009 will be much lighter and more full of ease for early Virgos, and all Virgos will see powerful allies coming to their aid in work and career over the next 13 or so years as Pluto moves slowly through Capricorn. So if 2009 isn’t your year, you have time to build a strong career/job foundation, the more you work for this the more it will pay off as Pluto eventually trines your Sun.

Libra – (September 23 – October 22) Libra’s I’m not going to lie to you, the fall of 2009 won’t be easy if you were born during the early part of the sign.  There will be a lot of adjusting to do as Pluto squares your Sun – providing both identity and career issues; questions about what you are doing with your life, and if you are on the right path or not. Also you will have questions about your partnerships, which will come to a head during that period.  However you won’t feel this if you were born later on in the sign until the year’s progress.

A double whammy happens for those born early on in Libra because Saturn will also be on top of their Sun, making them feel drained and overwhelmed. Try focusing on your career at that time without losing yourself to it, and don’t make any big decisions about career, partnerships, legal situations or your spouse either. Wait at least 3-6 months from November of 2009 to decide what you are doing, and seek out counseling or talk to a trusted wise friend to help you gain clarity. You will feel the desire to cut off ties, to make big decisions, but you will be too overtaxed and overwhelmed to make good decisions so wait it out!

For those born about ¾ of the way through Libra, Neptune will be aiding you in your spiritual development, bringing you new friends, an interest in charitable organizations, a greater connection to your fellow man, more social opportunities and a greater love and appreciation of music. Those earlier in the sign already experienced this depending on how early in the sign; it could have been as far back as 1998. This transit will, and for some already was life altering for Libras and will continue to be feed as Neptune rolls through Aquarius. And for those later Libras file away the above warning about Saturn. It will eventually hit your Sun too, depending on when you are born, this aspect could hit you up until late 2011.

Scorpio – (October 23 – November 21) Those who are born early in this sign will see more opportunities coming their way in their career and family life starting from late 2008, and into 2009. But these opportunities are the type that one must work in order to make happen. There will be doors opening you will have to walk through, not lucky breaks.  The last couple of years there have been opportunities in your career especially through higher education, continuing education or taking classes. If you were wise and used this feeling to gain new skills you will have seen doors opening for you.

Now with Pluto you will have a second chance if you didn’t take advantage of that urge. This time will provide a powerful deeper-rooted sense of your spirituality and a pathway to following your bliss. By doing so, doors will open, but again you will have to knock on a lot of them, and do the footwork to make it happen, this aspect does not guarantee success, just opportunity for success.

As Neptune has been squaring your Sun sign for quite a while and depending on where you fall, either early, middle or late in the sign, you would have had, or will have, a period of loss of friends, family, and a lack of self-confidence. You may have felt depleted, depressed, even using social situations as an excuse to loose yourself and go crazy through drinking. Or it could have manifested as the loss of social interactions, which led to a period of isolation leaving you spinning around in your own head. Early degree Scorpios would have felt this as long ago as 1998, and those about ¾ of the way through the sign will feel it now. Be careful not to get carried away with drinking especially in social situations as it can lead to friendships ending.

With Uranus in Pisces those who are again about ¾ of the way through the sign will be experiencing a lot more psychic activity, intense dreams, flashes of knowings, deep sudden realizations about people, events, and even the occasional premonition.  You will find yourself much more open to psychic ability, the occult, astrology and spiritual development during this period. For those earlier in the sign you’ve already gone through this, for those who are at the tail end of Scorpio you have this to look forward to. However again the theme of drinking/drug/food/shopping abuse (anything escapist) comes up so be careful!

All in all there will be more opportunities for your sign starting this year and besides Pluto, and Uranus’ help eventually Neptune will go into Pisces and there will be more opportunity, more spiritual development down the line. This period has and will become a great awakening for Scorpios. They will find themselves and who they were truly meant to be. It will also open up your intuition and if you are open to it great spiritual experiences.

Sagittarius – (November 22 – December 21) Pluto has just gone over your Sun for the past decade depending on when you were born within your sign. You would have had a tremendous overhaul of your ego, your sense of family, and would have come to understand yourself in ways you never did before. Sagittarians are blessed with tremendous good luck; they are charming, capricious and also on the other side decadent and didactic.  Pluto going over your sun allowed you to see deeply into your own soul, and own who you truly are. You would have experienced your personal foibles and had to come to terms with the truth about yourself, either bad or good. With Uranus making a square to your Sun (those who are about ¾ of the way through the sign) you are currently experiencing both flashes of knowing and intuition and a loss of friends, outworn ideals, and the delusions or illusions still lingering in the ego. For those born earlier in the sign they have already gone through this, for those later in the sign, go with the energy to come, and make the best of it.

Neptune has been providing some cover for those born about ¾ of the way through the sign, it has brought into your life wise friends and more social activities also a broader compassion for humanity. Sagittarians tend to be so lucky that they often don’t delve deeply into their psyches, and have a tendency to escape into excessive spending, drinking, drug taking or eating. As Uranus has been making this opposition, and with Pluto’s conjunction it has forced foot loose and fancy free Sagittarians to come to terms with the darker side of their nature, to dig deeper into their own psyches, and transform for the better.

2009 will be easier as Pluto is finally out of your sign, and when Saturn stops squaring you in November of 2009, you will finally feel some real relief especially in regards to your career and work situation.

Capricorn – (December 22 – January 19) if you are an early Capricorn, times are tough. You have to make a major transformation and find your true spiritual path – your reason for being here, and career path all at once.

Saturn your ruling planet has been giving you some steering directions for the past couple of years, and will continue to do so especially for those born later on in the sign, but once it goes into Libra in the fall of 2009, you must be careful not to become too anxious or stressed out by the rigors of your relationship balanced with your career. This period could bring about the cementing of a contract, relationship or a business partnership, but it will take a lot of work, and be exhausting so try to build in time to rest during this period.

For those of you who are later on in the sign Uranus is giving you lots of inspiration, and good ideas follow these flashes of intuition and you will find success. Those of you who are early in the sign have had this aspect already pass, and those who are late in the sign will have it happen in a few years, but will start to feel the effects of this coming on. Trust your intuition, and it will open doors for you.

Aquarius – (January 20 – February 18) In January of 2009 Jupiter will be in Aquarius expanding your sense of self, your base of knowledge, your circle of friends, and your waistline if you’re not careful! Also Neptune has been transiting Aquarius for quite some time now, those who are about ¾ of the way through the sign will have Neptune conjunct their Sun leading to greater psychic ability and/or confusion, drug or alcohol problems and a plethora of ideas and imagination. Also there is a danger to your health so you must be careful and trust every weird intuition you have about your health during this period or you could really suffer. Those born earlier in the sign went through this as early as 1998 and those later in the sign will experience this in years to come.

By the fall of 2009 you will find even greater flow and ease in your career as Saturn enters Libra. If you are early in the sign you will see this then if late it will manifest as late as 2011. But either way you will see ease and flow, as Saturn is the old ruler of Aquarius and still co-king. Your partnerships, friendships and career will feel easier then they have in a long time. There will be more opportunity coming to you and luck will be on your side. Of course for those early Aquarians they will feel this strongly by the fall of 2009 and those later in the sign will feel this in the next couple of years.

Pisces – (February 19 – March 20) These past 12 or so years haven’t been the easiest. Pluto was squaring your sun and depending on if you are early in the sign or late, this next bit would apply anywhere to over a decade ago to as recently as 2008. There was a lot of confusion and misplaced optimism and when the delusion was uncovered, it could have worn down either into a depression, or a period where you overindulged through drugs, alcohol, shopping, spending, or any kind of excess and escapism.

Pluto was the culprit but you are free of it! Now do a little happy dance. Coming up is much more opportunity for your career, and with Uranus in Pisces if you are about ¾ of the way into the sign you will experience great flashes of knowing, greater insight, and understanding, things you never got before will suddenly click in. On the negative side you have to be careful not to be too erratic or you could loose some friends. Also be careful with binge drinking which will be a great temptation. Those who are early in the sign will have already gone through this as long ago as 1998 those late in the sign will go through this in a few years, but will start to see the signs of it as early as this year.

A Sun Sign Overview for 2009

One more tiny thing about Israel and then I’m done…

I forgot to mention that Israel actually broke the cease fire when we were having our elections and it didn’t get covered by our news. So, again I’m glad to see they are backing off now and talking about negotiating. Also it looks like they are going to have a changing of the guard soon. I hope the people there pick someone more dovish.

Best wishes to all,
Denise

One more tiny thing about Israel and then I’m done…

More About Israel

Hey everyone. I got an angry e-mail from a reader in defense of Israel. I just wanted to say that I am of Jewish descent and actually could move there if I wanted, so could my daughter. I am a supporter of Israel, but I feel they over responded to the mortar fire that by their own original accounts didn’t hurt or kill any of their people. So far there are confirmed 3 Israeli deaths, and over 300 Palestinian.

I was listening to Air America tonight on my way to the drug store, and Thom Hartmann was reading a bunch of Israeli op-ed pieces from different major Israeli newspapers. They were about 90% negative in regards to the recent attack on the Gaza Strip. Hartmann said he was getting all kinds of hate e-mails and phone calls.

I just wanted to clear a few things up about why I am so upset at Israel:

I want there to be an Israel.

I am also an empath and feel the pain of others, killing should never the first response, it should always be the absolute last answer when your own life is endangered. The Jewish people more than most should know the horrors of racial cleansing and murder. We of all people should be the most pacifistic of all, yet, Israel has turned into an insanely hawkish nation. I fear they have taken a cue from our terrible foreign policy of the last 8 years, and are going to push the region into an all out war. There is so much tension there and hatred for the west.

All Israel is doing by responding with such force is creating more terrorism and escalating the attacks against them. They have the right to defend themselves, of course, but the first tact should always be diplomacy which they refuse to do because the Israeli government hates Hamas — granted they do want to obliterate Israel, but Israel doesn’t make itself look gracious, accepting, logical or willing to change their mind by taking the slightest opportunity to blow up apartment buildings in the Gaza strip. This is insane! If they would have appealed to the UN or the US or any of their neighbors to help negotiate, they would have come out heros, and the world would be on their side. If those talks broke down, and their people were attacked again then they could have responded strategically.

But this response was extreme and very much in keeping with our reaction to 9/11, start a war when we should have rooted out Bin Laden and his gang. I understand the rage of being attacked, and the ruthlessness of terrorists, but we can never be blindly loyal to any country, person, place or thing or we stop seeing the truth. It is important to always look at both sides of an issue, have compassion even for the enemy, try to find a peaceful way out, and always respect the lives of others instead of dehumanizing them which is so often done in times of war.

This is a very grave situation Israel has stepped into and it really freaks me out.

I usually have dreams before Israel does something like this. I had a vision of Yitzhak Rabin’s assassination when I was traveling with my husband in Germany. I told him about it, and a few weeks later Rabin was assassinated. I also dreamt about a month later that I was hanging out with a family in a suburb of Tel Aviv (which looked somewhat like the desert area of southern CA) and me, and their teenaged kids were talking outside when we looked up, and saw fighter jets zooming overhead with the star of David on them. It was so real this dream. Shortly there after the peace Rabin had been trying to negotiate fell apart, and the war with the Palestinine people began again in earnest.

I knew back in 1995 that dream I had meant that the reality of peace there was broken. Since then I have often had dreams of being in Israel. I have always been a staunch supporter of Israel, especially when Rabin was in charge. He was a great man, and a great leader, full of compassion. I felt that he really could have changed the fate of Israel for the better, and solved the problems with the Palestinians. This is because he listened to them, had compassion for their side of the story. Israel desperately needs another leader like this, or they are going to be blown off the map. I pray someone steps forward soon to change the bad feelings they are engendering among the Arab and Islamic world or God help us all.

I worry that this is just one more piece in a big puzzle leading us into another world war. Iraq was one, Israel’s over-zealous aggression against the Palestinians, and the Pakistani terrorists who are trying goad India into a response. If these cards keep falling, we could see some really terrible things. I didn’t want to freak everyone out but when I was doing charts for the future, I realized that Uranus was going to go into Aries starting in the spring of 2010, this squaring Pluto in Virgo could lead to great upheaval, war, and violence sparked in part by the lording over of power of the west and the world financial troubles. Once Neptune goes into Pisces at the beginning of 2011 there could be major loss of life and tremendous world sorrow.

This doesn’t have to be our path but it is one possible future. We can use these aspects and energies to become more enlightened, empathic, compassionate and honest. But this is why I am so upset with Israel, and the US because we are pushing this energy toward the negative, chaotic, shadow side instead of the positive enlightened side. Let’s just pray for humanities enlightenment and greater compassion for all, and stay involved in the realm of politics where these big broad lessons will be carried out either for or against us as individuals. We have to stay involved, and steer this ship in the right direction! We each have the power to influence the Collective Unconscious and the more we work toward not just our own positive transformation but those around us, helping, listening and being compassionate the more we will grow out of our shadow self.

I know this is hard. We have been living in our shadow self for a long time, and people have become remarkably self-involved in a way I don’t remember them being even 10 years ago. It seems we have fermented a culture of greed and selfishness, and many have taken it to heart, living this shadow side every day without even knowing it.

I believe in confronting people who are taking advantage of others, and standing up for the down trodden, fighting for people to respect one another. To me the worst thing we can do as human beings is to be indifferent to others. Even hate is the other side of love, and can be flipped, but indifference is nothingness, an empty chasm that leads only to isolation, chaos and emptiness. So don’t be afraid to speak your truth. If someone hurts you or others, let them know in as kind a way as you can – this is how we all learn, and grow toward becoming more compassionate, better people.

Peace and best wishes,

Denise

Generations, Our Collective Karma and Personality

OK, hope you all didn’t think I was being too hard on the old Pluto in Leo boomers. They have given the world a lot but because of their massive size, and scale have also monopolized the resources, the tenor of the collective psyche, and have been at the steering wheel of power for the past 40 some odd years. Let’s just give everyone my definition of the Pluto in Leo, Me’ers or Boomers, because it doesn’t correspond exactly to the arbitrary lines drawn by anthropologists, sociologists and mathematician’s.

The Boomer (Me’er/Pluto in Leo) generation started back in 1942, although the transitional generation between the Boomers and the “greatest generation ever,” started around 1938 when Pluto began to enter Leo, however Neptune didn’t go into Libra until 1942, hence the official start date of the Boomers. This generation continued until the fall of 1957, again however, there were people born with Pluto in Virgo and Neptune in Scorpio off and on during 1956 and 1957 as these planets retrograded back and forth. So some people born during this period fit neatly into the Gen-X group personality and some into the Boomer personality.

I want to go backwards a bit and talk about the “greatest generation ever,” those born when Neptune was in Virgo and Pluto was in Cancer. These folks went through the Great Depression, WWI, WWII and many of them lost their lives serving the greater good — Neptune=Loss and Virgo=Service to others. It is no surprise among this generation we saw frugality, a great love of home, family and country and a dedication to work, service and sacrifice. This generation truly had these gifts built into their charts. This collectively (of course not everyone will fit this because we are all individuals as well and other things in people’s charts can and do over ride things) was a generation willing to sacrifice everything for their children, and family, in the hopes their kids would have a better life.

When WWII ended, and the start of the Boomer generation began, the fruits of all the sacrifice, and hard work that “the greatest generation” tilled ripened. The Boomers grew up in an era of unprecedented wealth and giant middle-class. Only one person in a family had to work (dad) and that person could work at a gas station as an attendant, save his money and buy a home, and actually support his family. I know this because this is the story of my husband’s father.

It became an unconscious, and expected right to attain the American Dream; home owning, good paying jobs whether they were the “blue collar” factory sort, or the professions that required years of college. Boomers grew up in an era where all things were possible, and had no way to relate to their parents paranoia about the other shoe dropping economically, or the memory of miners murdered for starting unions so they could be paid fairly and treated like human beings.

By the time Boomers came into power really in the 1980s, although they steered the mass consciousness well before that especially culturally in the 60s and 70s, they had all but forgotten the lessons of their parents generation. An unfortunate paranoia about Russia, communism and being frightened to death with thoughts of nuclear obliteration, this group embraced capitalism with a reactive almost religious zeal that spoke of their dark fear of anything “pinko” related. Thus the embrace of Reagan’s war on unions, social programs and those laws protecting us from another depression — regulations! Slowly as this generation held the mantel (and again not all are on this side of the fence, but enough to say it is the majority) of power they allowed the mentally ill to spill onto the streets in overwhelming numbers in the 80s during the Reagan years and unwound all those handy regulations.

I remember going into downtown Los Angeles in the mid 1980s, and being horrified to see literally tens of thousands of people living in boxes like the old Hovervilles of the 1930s. The great majority of these people were the mentally ill. And then later as Reagan continued with his theme of , “Pull yourself up by your own bootstraps,” (now there’s a big assumption, some people are too poor to have bootstraps to pull on) the streets became flooded with families turned out because welfare programs were slashed to nothing, and again I remember walking around the cold foggy streets of San Francisco in the late 1980s and seeing whole families with their tiny children, begging for food, money or anything a stranger like myself could provide. This was the 80s I remember. And Ronald Reagan was a bastard who started this whole mess. We can trace all of our problems back to his selling of “trickle down economics,” and anti-regulation of the stock market, banking institutions (remember the fall of the S & L’s and the Bush brother who went to jail for stealing money from old people?) and the destruction of the social net FDR had built? And making it difficult to get a student loan? Thanks Reagan and your line of bastard children weaned at the teat of the no-hold-bar capitalistic cool-aid.

All this revisionist history about Reagan and Nixon (who was a crook and started what Reagan really cemented, Reagan just sold it to everyone as if it were home made fudge backed by grandpa Ronnie) is a disgrace to the reality of our current situation, and dangerous to our future understanding of how to avert the crisis we are now in, and will be again, if we are not honest about the roots of our problem. We  need a bit of cultural psychotherapy that I’m happy to provide, a reality check. It’s vital we are brutally honest with ourselves about our past and our present, look at what happens when the 4th estate (journalists) fail to be critical and look at facts: we end up in a prolonged war in 2 countries where we don’t even know how many innocent civilians have died. And thousands of our young people have given their lives for what turned out to be a lie. It is a disgusting and vile war crime, truly treason on the part of the Bush administration. Throwing away the lives of so many, and shredding the Genova Convention laws all the world agreed to, for their personal agenda.

Ok, enough of my asides, back to generational astrology. Let’s skip forward to Generation Z, the young people who are coming of age during this crisis. This generation officially (according to me) started in January of 1984 when Pluto was in Scorpio and Neptune went into Capricorn. There would also have been some cuspy Generation Z’ers in 1983. These kids were the ones who went nuts for Harry Potter, and grew up exposed to the tiny cultural mantel Generation X held during the 1990s mostly in the way of comedy and music.

They have many similar traits to Generation X. An intense interest in the occult, even more so then Generation X because for them their exposure to this will be and/or has been more trans-formative and in Gen-X’s case it was either confused, fantasy based or remained in the psychic realm. Pluto is also naturally placed in Scorpio making this generation a powerful group of souls who came here to help transform the earth, and the collective consciousness.

There was also a rare configuration of planets during their generation (which was also the case with X’ers and the Uranus/Pluto in Virgo combo which the world hadn’t seen in over 10,000 years, not an aspect most souls could handle which is why there aren’t many X’ers) by March of 1988 Uranus went into Capricorn conjuncting Neptune. This is about when we saw the last banking mess as Capricorn rules the financial sector and Neptune confusion, scams and delusion. This was when the S & L crisis was getting going, not yet public, but when this scam was more then likely hatched.

Anyway, those born during this period, who would now be almost drinking age as of 09, will be very much like Gen-X’ers who came to adulthood during the recession of the early 90s, when people with master’s degrees in psychology were working as Baristas. Unfortunately, this group of people will probably see their high priced educations put on the back burner for any old job they can get. This group will be instrumental in solving the financial crisis, we will see them re-invent business as we have known it. They are a serious bunch, highly ambitious and again a very rare group of souls who choose to come here and sacrifice a lot to help out the greater good and mankind. On the whole they will bring the same kind of innovation to business that Gen-X’ers have brought to health care with their emphasis on alternative healing, health food, yoga, nutrition and organic food (all Virgo obsessions that have brought a lot to the table in the healing professions.)

On the negative side those born with Pluto in Scorpio are also the generation that was prone to intense violence. There was a tremendous rise in school shootings among their generation. Pluto ruling death and naturally placed in Scorpio its no wonder. They were also very over sexualized early on, with stories about them having oral sex in school on buses and having sex parties. This is all that sexual energy in its highly powerful place of Scorpio. The fact that Bill Clinton’s sex life as the number one story of the day while they were growing up didn’t help much. Most of these kids when polled back in the 90s said that oral sex wasn’t sex. I wonder where they heard that from? Also with so much heavy Capricorn in their charts they as a group were placed under tremendous pressure to achieve, and were raised with stuff being given for good grades, often bought instead of nurtured. All of this is in their stars.

Now the generation just after the Z’er’s when Pluto went into Sag, are much different.I’ll get into the why’s of this as I continue on with this generation…

    Denise,
When is the period of kindness you talked about going to begin? I am seeing a whole lot of just deeply distrubing behavior on the news – a man massacres his ex wife’s family in CA, another man decides to up and shoot a father in a Philadelphia movie theater, a guy in Scotland holding that poor, poor woman hostiage in the trunk of his car for ten days…

It seems like people have lost their dang minds. Thanks in advance. Happy New Years!

  • Wei // December 28, 2008 at 3:56 pm

I think kindness starts from here… us. There’s too much carelessness and thoughtlessness in the world. If anger and lack of regard for others starts, there’s no need to continue in that kind of vein, otherwise all of us are in trouble. It is true that we are all a community and I hope over time, we will evolve to that kind of thinking.

    To Answer Grace first:

I think we are going to see the worst of mankind first before we see the best of it. I am an optimist by nature and generally believe that when given a hard lesson people eventually learn it and open their hearts toward growth. Unfortunately, I’ve seen, as I’m sure we all have, that it takes a lot to break open the hard hearted, greedy and selfish. And the truth is there are a lot of people on this planet (last count over 6 billion) and many of them are young souls who are pretty darn selfish. Which means for all of us, it will take experiencing a lot of bad before we see the light as a group. And it may also mean that there will be a lot of sacrifice in order to learn the lesson of humanitarianism. As we go from the Piscean age to the Aquarian age there will be a time of reckoning and I fear a lot of terrible stuff we will have to endure before we see the light.

    Wei is right:

There is so much thoughtlessness and carelessness in the world. We are going to have to learn just as children do, about boundaries. But in our case these lessons will be large scale, very frightening, and come in the form of war, disasters, and economic melt downs before we can begin to band together and truly value each others humanity. It’s sad that we have to learn the hard way but I think we’ve proven we don’t learn any other way.

I’ve been having a lot of nightmares over the past week, broad scale, a lot having to do with elemental energies like water and fire. The news seems full of craziness, more each day. But its not a surprise astrologically. We are in for some tough times in many ways, but there is hope.

The more the enlighten participate, the more those who are kind hearted and empathic step up to support and stand up for those who are down trodden the greater our chances to avert the worst of our potential fate, and the faster those who are ignorant will learn about compassion. We all have to be the best examples we can be. We are all teachers here — something we have either forgotten or not much acknowledged.

Best wishes and many blessings to all of you,

    Denise

Israel and Answering A Reader…

Nitin wrote a post a few days back before Israel went insane on Palestine. I wanted to post it for others to read in case they missed it.

Nitin

Hi everyone,

hope u guys have had a great xmas. i would like to share one of the weirdest dream i had this morning. i dont claim to be psychic but on many occasions my intuitions have proved right. In simple terms my guts feelings has probably have been right at 90%. However, in 2008 i have noticed that i hve started to have dreams very lucid one arounf 3 to 4ish in the morning. these dreams are like visions of something providing answer in some of the time on the thing thats been on my mind a lot, sometimes i will feel my grandma guiding me through these visions. The funny thing about these dream or vision is that i am fully aware of it.. i know that th moment i opened my eyes it will stop and by keeping my eyes close, its like the movie is playing. It is quite a new phenomenon for me… Ok this morning the 26 December, i start dreaming that i went to see a friend that i studied with when i was in London. He was living in one of those very tall buildings. We took the lift and up we go. he was living on the 17th floor i cant recall. and then i find myself on the balcony of the building. i could see my mum and my dad. and then in the sky i could see figher planes. it was air combat. with all the firing in the sky it looks like lightening in the sky. we were hiding and then i could hear machine guns and so many helicopters around.they were hovering . i could see the soldier in the combat helicopters with guns. they were all shooting towards the ground. at this point i became aware that it is a vision and once i opened my eyes, everything will go. Also eventhough we were lying down,i was not scared of being shot at..at this time india and pakistan came into my mind. then i opened my eyes and obviously evertyhing switched off. ok the way i am looking at it. there would be somemilitary operation that gonna happened i dont know where. with all the wars going around that is obvious :-)…y india and pakistan..part of my ancestor is from india and part is a mixture …its very typical for an islander like myself..but my mum and dad is hindu. .. i dont have a religion as such but i am very close to hinduism because of my parents prctice and i have been growing up with all the occasional hindu rituals. Now this friend of mine in the building is muslim and his wife is pakistani…may be its far fetched but that was ahy i tried tomake a connection. however i doubt myself as well int he sense that the soldiers i say in the combat helicopter were not indian at all. they look european..and it looks like they had proper logistics i.e proper combat helicopters and fighter jets..

i thought about georgia nd russia as well. i dont know…

thank you so much for listening..

god bless

And then Nitin posted this in response to the dream:

could be the dream was an omen to the current event… follow the links

Hi Nintin,

It’s OK to call yourself psychic when you consistently have dreams that come true, and feelings that turn out to be accurate. It doesn’t make you arrogant, just honest with yourself. You have the gift/curse. We all do, some more than others, that’s all. I have a feeling a pretty big percentage of my readers are psychic.

Your dream sounds very much like a premonition of Israel bombing the Gaza strip. It makes a lot of sense, especially since you mentioned the people looked European. Seems like a very obvious premonition about Israel’s aggression toward Palestine. I am going to look into what happened (astrologically) there in a later post. It really is disturbing and disgusting of Israel.

I’m really sick of the way they have treated the Palestinian people. That lame excuse about launches toward Israel that hurt no one, does not give them the right to kill innocent people. My father and his family were Jewish, and great supporters of Israel, but they would I’m sure be disgusted by Israel’s increasing aggression, and out of control reactionary, aggressive dealings with the Palestinian people.

Israel is a disgrace to all Jewish people. Just as America under George W. Bush became a disgrace to the West. They had better stop this crap or they are going to trigger a much bigger problem. I feel so much instabilty in that region. It feels like that area of the world is teetering on the verge of a nuclear holocaust. I’ve been feeling that build since we invaded Iraq.

Does the Israeli government not realize how much damage the Bush administration has done to the cause of Democracy and tolerance? Don’t they get that bull dozing an apartment building when someone who lived there Ding-Dong- ditched your house is more than over kill right now, it’s enough to incite a major war.

This is very disturbing.

There are so many militant terrorist groups pushing the west toward all out war — the terrorist action in Mumbai, 9/11, the bombings in London, Madrid, the idiot shoe bomber. By reacting with this kind of force, the way our moronic president handled the situation with 9/11, only gives these horrible meat headed spiritually devoid terrorists power and ignites the flame of anger and revenge. It is the responsibility of those with great might and power to show restraint and use logic, kindness, compassion and diplomacy in the face of these irrational, blood thirsty zealots, or we become worse than they are. This is true of the U.S. and true of Israel.

I certainly hope that India is more evolved then we are and they don’t throw their weight around like a western country would. Let’s pray that they are wiser then all of us. Their main religion of Hinduism which teaches tolerance, that in itself shows they are miles above us in terms of their spiritual development. Let’s hope their leaders are as wise as those ancient teachings.

Best wishes to all and many blessings,

Denise

Israel and Answering A Reader…

Generations Continued… (And kind of answering some readers)

I will get to the financial questions this weekend. I never looked at an exact date for the actual total bottom out of the market just gave a general time frame from the end of December until about the 20th of January because this is when Pluto goes over the Dow’s ascendant. Except for the exact start was December 21, 2008. To me the main message was to get out back in the fall before the first drop hit which was why I started the blog.

But unfortunately I don’t think we’ve seen the end of the free fall, and I will look at other factors that could set off another big scary plunge coming up in January.

As I said before Pluto going over the ascendant of the Dow was going to bring to light some serious scandals, criminal activity going on behind the scenes, and a loss of faith in the market itself because of ethics issues. Maidoff (ironic name) is the biggest, but I doubt he will be the only one to be exposed, and fall.

We are in a time of reckoning. A very karmic time, for those who have been greedy and materialistic they will learn major lessons now. Remember that old quote from the bible, “The meek shall inherit the earth.” We are seeing the beginning of the powerful’s fall and a new respect for those old time values, things you can’t buy like politeness, kindness, caring, empathy and good old thriftiness. It’s about time greed became the disgusting word it always has been.

Enough about that! Let’s talk about generational astrology and the first Gen-X president (barely gen-x but still) President Elect Obama. We will go from the mantel of the “Me” generation to that Uranus/Pluto conjunction (in Obama’s case it’s very loose, and his Uranus is in Leo, so he’s not full tilt, but kind of transitional) in Virgo.

Gen-Xers can be annoyingly idealistic on the bad side, and on the good side they actually really do try to walk their talk, whatever their talk is. They are good for their word. Most grew up in fractured families and were ignored not just by the families, but by the culture at large which had a literal boner for everything sexual. One could not enter a store without seeing statues of naked people humping. It was a very child inappropriate time. A time when being a kid or having one was seen almost as a sad debilitating disease that slowed down not only a chance to get laid and wasted (although being a parent has never stopped people from partaking if they wanted to) but also your chance to explore yourself. You know that ever fascinating Me, that has so many things to express and do.

I found it deeply ironic (that’s the very nice way of putting this) that during the Vietnam war, all war was horrible, when Me’ers were being drafted. Now, I agree war is bad. They were right. But the lame thing was war became good, when it meant cheaper gas in the old Ford 4 wheeler and it was (mostly poor kid) Gen-Xers going to Bagdad, suddenly war wasn’t such a horrible thing.

“We have to protect our interests.” I actually heard old hippies (who had been at one time anti-war) say things like that. It was a major 180. “Don’t trust anyone over 30,” and once they hit their 50s I heard arguments from this generation saying that it wasn’t until people were in their 50s and 60s that they were most productive.

Hey, that’s a coincidence, you’re in your 50s and 60s.

And I won’t say more about this because we all get it just from these few examples. I don’t want to whip them, there are many amazingly good people in this generation, and not all fall victim to these convenient 180s. And not everyone backtracked on their principles, but even those in this generation who are the good eggs agree with me that they, too, have been sorely disappointed by their fellow Me’ers in this regard. Some so disappointed that they have made the mistake of projecting this problem onto all of humanity instead of seeing it as a distinctly Pluto in Leo character trait. Not that they are the only people all of the time, but it is a generational marker. I actually had a history teacher in high school who was a Me’er and he said once, “You can’t change the world. We tried in the 60s and look what good it did. It didn’t make any difference.”

When I pointed out to him that things took time to grow roots, and that a lot of things actually did change for the better because of the activism of the 60s, which we have to give props to the Pluto in Leo people for, they were a big part of this and this is their good side. They can be very generous and trusting. Problem was they kind of got their dreams crushed after the assassination of JFK and MLK and Bobby Kennedy and many of them gave up and went toward the negative side of the Leo tendency, which was pure un-adulterated ego gratification in the form of materialism, greed, self-absorption, an inability to sacrifice the self for the greater good, and using sexuality as an ego pick-me-up.

Ok, let’s get onto the Generation Y which has more in common with the Me’ers, just as Generation X has more in common with children born during the 1990s (I’m not sure they have a name yet so let’s call them Zers). Generation Y has Neptune in Sag, Pluto in Libra, Uranus in either Libra or Scorpio. This period went from about the fall of 1972 until around the fall of 1984. If you were born in 1971-fall 1972, you fall in between Generation X and Y and will have qualities of both. In some cases you maybe an Xer or a Yer depending on your date of birth as the planets retrograded back and forth for about a year.

Y’s were the kids who went to rave’s. They are very social, and with Neptune in Sag, a bit of a lost soul generation. As a group they spent most of their young adult years floating, the economy was good when they came of age, but they grew up in fractured homes. They often just wanted things to be peaceful and hated confrontation.

They also do not have the same obsession with integrity that Gen-X’ers do. They are more bendable and willing to go along with trends, fit in with their generation and are more social, less critical of others and more accepting.

They had a hippie like feel when they were younger and were more akin to the Pluto in Leo types in terms of accepting (and abiding) excess, and had multiple partners where as Gen-X’ers never dated, they have one boyfriend or girlfriend and then moved on to another. They chastised anyone who even tried the multiple boyfriends or girlfriends idea unlike Y’ers or Me’ers. Gen-Xer’s were and are sort of prudish about sexuality unless it falls into the Neptune in Scorpio side of their personality, and has elements of bondage, S & M or a dark thing about it. Even then one could argue the sexual repression built into the X’ers finds a release in the darker side of sexuality and fantasy.

Next I’ll go more into Y’ers  and those born in the 80s, 90s and compare them to the other generations as well…

Best wishes to all.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Denise

Generations Continued… (And kind of answering some readers)

The Light

Remember the weird garage light incident? Well, we had an electrician not only come out, and check the wiring for a short, and he completely changed out the light fixture. Guess what? The morse code spirit was back! Luckily, this time the light was its white self, and my husband saw it for his very own eyes.

A reader had suggested that she’d noticed signs were often literal and had mentioned the orange color was perhaps related to Orange County, within days of the orange light incident news of Caylee Anthony’s remains were uncovered in Orange County Florida.

From my experience white light, although it would on the surface seem to be benign, is associated with major world events which aren’t good. I’ve seen flashes in the sky, and have had other weird experiences with white light that I won’t bother to go into, just before major global events.

I have to admit I was a little annoyed at the garage light, and thought perhaps it was a trickster ghost or a negative entity. So I devised a means of communications with it. I gave it 10 seconds to respond, one flash for yes, two for no. The weird thing was, it actually worked stunningly well. Accordingly, I ruled out this entity being a ghost, angel or demonic spirit, and lets say it claimed some sort of divine origin from beyond our understanding of God in the realm of Kether for those of you who know the Tree of Life or the Kabbalah.

Long story short it wanted me to let everyone know that we are at the beginning of the end of the world as we have known it. The end of crazy materialistic greed, and indifference to morality and our fellow man. We are at the end of Capatlism as we have known it, witnessing the fall of that ideology just as 20 some odd years ago Communism fell. What will come in its wake I feel will be something more in the middle, a capatlistic form of socialism if we are smart, if not, and we remain steadfastly glued to our greed and selfishness it could turn into a world of extreme explotation. I’m an optimist so I’m going with the former rather then the later.

I wasn’t going to post tonight because I’m exhausted from the holiday and just catching up with all of it, but I was woken up by this energy, and urged to put this information out there.

We will learn a lot of spiritual lessons coming up, compassion, kindness and a new respect for life and humanity. But I fear we will be so caught up in this global paradigm shift (mostly economic and political) that we maybe blind-sided by the eco-disaster we are headed for, and all that intails including global health problems. I also fear with this period of restructuring we will see a rise in groups trying to vi for power through terrorism, and more corrupt people trying to bully their way into positions of power. We must all be and stay involved in the politics of our world. It is imperative to our survival.

So for now that’s all I’m going to write. I’m very tired and I had to get that off my chest. Once the holidays are over. I promise to answer more questions and give more detailed posts.

Wishing all of you many blessings and a warm and wonderful holiday season. Enjoy your loved ones and be thankful for all you have.
